To the Editor,Considerable numbers of cases of lung adenocarcinoma(LUAD)in non-smokers with unclear etiology have been *** and bacterial infections are the common causes of lung and respiratory diseases.1 However,whether LUAD development coexists with virus infection is still *** staining and polymerase chain reaction(PCR)are often used to detect virus in blood,sputum,and alveolar lavage fluid ***-genome sequencing(WGs)is an unbiased method with a high throughput nature that can be applied for a broader assessment of *** studies described the viral landscape in pan-cancer in The Cancer Genome Atlas(TCGA)or cohort studies;however,these studies did not include Asian ***,we sought to screen the common viral pathogens in a nationwide cohort of LUAD patients in China and further explored other potential viral pathogens by analyzing the WGs data from our single-center cohort.2 To systematically investigate the viral associations with LUAD in China,we conducted a comprehensive study that included two distinct cohorts.

A Case of Warthin’s Tumor Together with IgG4-Related sialadenitis

Warthin’s tumor is the second most frequent neoplasm next to pleomorphic adenoma in the salivary gland. The tumor contains the epithelial oncocyte cells with the presence of rich-mitochondria and their surrounding abundant lymphocytes. A relatively new disease entity of IgG4-related disease frequently occurs in the salivary gland. However, the coexistence of Warthin’s tumor and IgG4-related disease is scarcely observed. We have recently experienced a rare case of Warthin’s tumor with IgG4-related sialadenitis. A 51-year-old man presented to our hospital, complaining of a mass with right submandibular tenderness and spontaneous pain. A computed tomography scan of the cervical region revealed a suspicion of lymph node proliferative disease, including malignant lymphoma. Elevated serum levels of IL-2R: 1843 U/ml (reference value 122 - 496 U/ml), IgG: 3430 mg/dl (reference value 861 - 1747 mg/dl), and IgG4: 3140 mg/dl (reference value 11 - 121 mg/dl) were observed. Other laboratory data showed within normal ranges. The cervical tumor was diagnosed as Warthin’s tumor by the findings of fine-needle aspiration cytology and biopsy examination. Immunohistochemistry revealed numerous IgG4- and IgG-positive cells with fibrosis surrounding the epithelial component of Warthin’s tumor, suggesting IgG4-rerated sialadenitis. Finally, we diagnosed the cervical tumor as Warthin tumor with IgG4-related sialadenitis. This is the second report describing a case of Warthin’s tumor with possible involvement of IgG4-related sialadenitis.

To stratify perioperative cardiac risk for endovascular surgery, pharmacologic stress single-photon emission computed tomography(sPECT) was performed in 206 patients. Of 8 patients who had cardiac events, 7 occurred in 67 patients with p ositive sPECT results, whereas only 1 occurred in 139 patients with negative sPE CT results(7 of 67 vs 1 of 139, pscintigraphic marker o f a summed stress score s the most important factor identifying patients who subsequently had cardiac events by multivariate analysis.

Hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection disrupts the normal metabolism processes, but is also influenced by several of the host’s metabolic factors. An obvious and significantly detrimental pathophysiological feature of HCV infection is insulin resistance in hepatic and peripheral tissues. substantial research efforts have been put forth recently to elucidate the molecular mechanism of HCV-induced insulin resistance, and several cytokines, such as tumor necrosis factor-α, have been identified as important contributors to the development of insulin resistance in the distant peripheral tissues of HCV-infected patients and animal models. The demonstrated etiologies of HCV-induced whole-body insulin resistance include oxidative stress, lipid metabolism abnormalities, hepatic steatosis and iron overload. In addition, myriad effects of this condition have been characterized, including glucose intolerance, resistance to antiviral therapy, progression of hepatic fibrosis, development of hepatocellular carcinoma, and general decrease in quality of life. Metabolic-related conditions and disorders, such as visceral obesity and diabetes mellitus, have been shown to synergistically enhance HCV-induced metabolic disturbance, and are associated with worse prognosis. Yet, the molecular interactions between HCV-induced metabolic disturbance and host-associated metabolic factors remain largely unknown. The diet and lifestyle recommendations for chronic hepatitis C are basically the same as those for obesity, diabetes, and metabolic syndrome. specifically, patients are suggested to restrict their dietary iron intake, abstain from alcohol and tobacco, and increase their intake of green tea and coffee (to attain the beneficial effects of caffeine and polyphenols). While successful clinical management of HCV-infected patients with metabolic disorders has also been achieved with some anti-diabetic (i.e., metformin) and anti-lipid (i.e., statins) medications, it is recommended th

Ig G4-related autoimmune pancreatitis is frequently accompanied by relevant lesions in the genitourinary tract and retroperitoneal organs, which cause various clinical problems, ranging from non-specific back pain or bladder outlet obstruction to renal failure. The diagnosis of Ig G4-related retroperitoneal fibrosis requires a multidisciplinary approach, including serological tests, histological examination, imaging analysis, and susceptibility to steroid therapy. Radiological examinations are helpful to diagnose this condition, but surgical resection is occasionally unavoidable to exclude malignancy, particularly for patients with isolated retroperitoneal involvement. steroid therapy is the treatment of choice for this condition, the same as for other manifestationsof Ig G4-related *** patients with severe ureteral obstruction,additional ureteral stenting needs to be considered prior to steroid therapy to preserve the renal *** papers have suggested that Ig G4-related disease can affect male reproductive organs including the prostate and *** G4-related prostatitis usually causes lower urinary tract symptoms,such as dysuria and *** sometimes state that corticosteroids given for Ig G4-related disease at other sites relieve their lower urinary tract symptoms,which leads us to suspect prostatic involvement in this *** of the limited number of publications available,further studies are warranted to better characterize Ig G4-related disease in male reproductive organs.

Photoluminescence, scintillation and thermally-stimulated luminescence properties of Tb-doped 12CaO·7Al2O3 single crystals grown by FZ method

Tb-doped 12CaO·7Al_2O_3（Tb：C12A7） crystals were synthesized by the floating zone（FZ） method and the photoluminescence（PL）, scintillation and thermally-stimulated luminescence（TsL） properties were investigated. The photoluminescence（PL） emission spectra and PL decay time profiles were investigated by using Quantaurus-tau（Hamamatsu）. The scintillation spectra and decay time profiles were measured by using our laboratory-constructed set-up under X-ray irradiation. Finally, TsL glow curve was measured by using Nanogray TL-2000 with the heating rate of 1 °C/s. In PL and scintillation, emission peaks were observed at 493, 543, 587 and 620 nm due to the 4f-4f transitions of Tb3~＋. Decay time constants of the emission by PL and scintillation appeared to be different, and the measured values were approximately 2.4 and 1.9 ms, respectively. After X-ray irradiations, the 0.5%（all Tb contents in this paper are in mole fraction） and 1.0% Tb-doped samples showed a single intense and broad glow peak around 100 oC while 1.2%–1.5% Tb-doped samples showed notable additional peak around 250 oC.

Monapinones A(1)to E(5),half parts of dinapinones,were produced by fermentation of Talaromyces pinophilus FKI-3864 in seawater-containing medium and have a common dihydronaphthopyranone skeleton with a different long alkyl *** relative stereochemistries of 3–5 were elucidated by various NMR experiments including analysis of 1 H NMR coupling constants,ROEsY and the dihedral *** absolute stereochemistries of 3–5 at C-3 were determined by the circular dichroism spectra in comparison to the data of(R)-and(s)-semivioxanthins(6 and 7).Accordingly,total absolute stereochemistries of 3–5 were concluded to be 3s,13R,15R,17R,19R,3s,13R,15R,17R and 3s,13R,15R,respectively.

Chang＇E-3 spacecraft was orbiting the Moon from December 6 14, 2013, and very long baseline interferometry （VLBI） observations were performed to improve the accuracy of its orbit determination. In the process of recording VLBI raw data, 2 bits quantization was implemented. Interesting phenomenon was that signal-to-noise ratio （sNR） of each VLBI station experienced periodical change and had large variation on amplitude while in the Moon＇s orbit, whereas sNR kept in a stable level after Chang＇E-3 landed on the Moon. Influence of varying elevation angle on sNR was analyzed and compensation of 2 bits quantization harmonics to sNR calculation was investigated. Most importantly, telescope system noise temperature increase caused by the Moon was computed along the time of Chang＇E-3 orbiting the Moon, and well matched sNR changing trend in terms of correlation coefficients.
