Influence of working gas pressure on the performance of W/Si multilayers

The effect of Ar pressure on the performance of W/Si multilayers is investigated. W/Si multilayers were deposited by a high vacuum DC magnetron sputtering system. The Ar pressure was changed from 1.0 to 5.0 mTorr with an interval of 1.0 mTorr during the deposition process. Electron probe microanalysis and Rutherford backscattering are performed to determine the Ar content incorporated within these multilayers. The results demonstrate that less Ar is incorporated within the sample when more Ar is used in the plasma, which could be explained by the increase of the collision probability and the decrease in the kinetic energy of Ar ions arriving at the substrate when more Ar exists. The grazing incident X-ray reflectivity （GIXR） at 0.154 nm is used to determine the structural parameters of the layers. The results show that the structures of these multilayers prepared at different Ar pressure are very similar and that the interface roughness increases quickly when the Ar pressure is higher than 3.0 mTorr. The measurements of the extreme ultraviolet （EUV） reflectivity indicate that the reflectivity decreases when Ar pressure increases. The fitting results of GIXR and EUV refiectivity curves indicate that with an increase of Ar pressure, the density and decrement of the refractive index are increased for W and decreased for Si, which is mainly due to （1） the decrease in Ar content incorporated within these multilayers which affects their performance and （2） the increase of collision probability for sputtered W and Si, the decrease of their average kinetic energy arriving at the substrate, and thus the loosing of their layers.

Optical performance, structure and thermal stability of Al（lwt.-%Si）//Zr and Al（pure）//Zr multilayers designed for the 17-19 nm range

We report on the optical performance, structure and thermal stability of periodic multilayer films con- taining Zr and Al（lwt.-%Si） or Al（pure） layers designed for the use as extreme ultraviolet （EUV） high reflective mirrors in the range of 1~19 am. The comparison of A1/Zr （Al（lwt.-%Si）/Zr and Al（pure）/Zr） multilayers fabricated by direct-current magnetron sputtering shows that the optical and structural per- formances of two systems have much difference because of Si doped in A1. From the results of grazing incidence X-ray reflection （GIXR）, X-ray diffraction （XRD）, and EUV, the Si can disfavor the crystalliza- tion of AI and smooth the interface, consequently increase the reflectance of EUV in the Al（lwt.-%Si）/Zr systems. For the thermal stability of two systems, the first significant structural changes appear at 250 ~C. The interlayers are transformed from symmetrical to asymmetrical, where the Zr-on-A1 interlayers are thicker than Al-on-Zr interlayers. At 295 ~C for Al（pure）/Zr and 298 ~C for Al（lwt.-%Si）/Zr, the interfaces consist of amorphous Al-Zr alloy transform to polycrystalline Al-Zr alloy which can decrease the surface roughness and smooth the interfaces. Above 300 ~C, the interdiffusion becomes larger, which can enlarge the differences between Zr-on-Al and Al-on-Zr interlayers. Based on the analyses, the Si doped in Al cannot only influence the optical and structural performances of Al/Zr systems, but also impact the reaction temperatures in the annealing process.

The 20-nm Skyrmion Generated at Room Temperature by Spin-Orbit Torques

The discovery of magnetic skyrmions provides a promising pathway for developing functional spintronic memory and logic devices. Towards the future high-density memory application, nanoscale skyrmions with miniaturized diameters, ideally down to 20 nm are required. Using x-ray magnetic circular dichroism transmission microscopy,nanoscale skyrmions are observed in the [Pt/Co/Ir]15 multilayer at room temperature. In particular, small skyrmions with minimum diameters approaching 20 nm could be generated by the current-induced spin-orbit torques. Through implementing material specific parameters, the dynamic process of skyrmion generation is further investigated by performing micromagnetic simulations. According to the simulation results, we find that both the tube-like Neel-type skyrmions and the bobber-like Neel-type skyrmions can be electrically generated. In particular, the size of the bobber-like Neel-type skyrmions can be effectively reduced by the spin-orbit torques,which leads to the formation of 20 nm Neel-type skyrmions. Our findings could be important for understanding the formation dynamics of nanoscale Neel-type spin textures, skyrmions and bobber in particular, which could also be useful for promoting nanoscale skyrmionic memories and logic devices.

We use complementary analysis techniques to determine the structure of nanometric periodic multilayers and particularly their interfaces. We focus on Co-based multilayer which can be used as efficient optical component in the extreme ultraviolet （EUV） range. The samples are characterized using reflectivity measurements in order to determine the thickness and roughness of the various layers, X-ray emission and nuclear magnetic resonance （NMR） spectroscopies to identify the chemical state of the atoms present within the stack and know if they interdiffuse. Results are validated through the use of destructive techniques such as transmission electron microscopy or secondary ion mass spectrometry.

A 71-year-old man, with history of plasmacytoma in relapse since one year, was hospitalized for a initial presentation of acute pancreatitis and *** there was a heterogeneous infiltration around the pancreas head, the diagnosis of an extramedullary localization of his plasmacytoma was not made until *** delayed diagnosis was due to the lack of specific radiologic features and the lack of dilatation of biliary ducts at the admission.A diagnosis was made with a simple ultrasound guided paracentesis of the low abundance ascites after a transjugular hepatic biopsy, an endoscopic ultrasound-guided fine needle aspiration of the pancreatic mass, and a failed attempt of biliary drainage through endoscopic retrograde *** order to document the difficulty of this diagnosis, characteristics of 63 patients suffering from this condition and diagnosis were identified and discussed through a systematic literature search.

Testing for hepatitis B virus alone does not increase vaccine coverage in non-immunized persons

AIM To determine whether hepatitis B virus(HBV)-testing could serve as a gateway to vaccinate non-immunized individuals in a low-prevalent *** Non-immunized subjects participating in a multi-center, HBV-testing campaign in Paris, France were identified and contacted via telephone 3-9 mo after testing in order to determine vaccination status. Vaccination coverage was evaluated in per-protocol(for all respondents) and intent-to-treat analysis(assuming all non-responders did not vaccinate).RESULTS In total, 1215/4924(24.7%) enrolled subjects with complete HBV serology were identified as nonimmunized and eligible for analysis. There were 99/902 successfully contacted subjects who had initiated HBV vaccination after screening: per-protocol, 11.0%(95%CI: 9.0-13.2); intent-to-treat, 8.2%(95%CI: 6.7-9.8). In multivariable analysis, vaccination was more likely to be initiated in individuals originating from moderate or high HBV-endemic countries(P level.

AIM:To evaluate the association between CYP1A1 and GSTs genetic polymorphisms and susceptibility to esophageal squamous cell carcinoma(SCC)and esophageal adenocarcinoma(ADC)in a high risk area of northwest of France. METHODS:A case-control study was conducted to investigate the genetic polymorphisms of these enzymes (CYPIAI*2C and GSTP1 exon 7 Val alleles,GSTMI*2/*2 and GSTTl *2/*2 null genotypes).A total of 79 esophageal cancer cases and 130 controls were recruited. RESULTS:GSTMI*2/*2 and CYPIAI*IA/*2C genotype frequencies were higher among squamous cell carcinomas at a level dose to statistical significance(OR =1.83,95% CI 0.88-3.83,P=0.11;OR=3.03,95% CI 0.93-9.90,P=0.07, respectively).For GSTP1 polymorphism,no difference was found between controls and cases,whatever their histological *** frequency of GSTT1 deletion was observed in ADC group compared to controls with a statistically significant difference(OR=13.31,95% CI 1.66-106.92,Pleukotriene synthesis;(3)higher sensitivity to the inflammatory process associated with intracellular depletion of glutathione.

目的细菌感染是儿童死亡的主要原因之一。作为提高医疗质量的第一步措施,我们研究了严重细菌感染(SBI)死亡患儿治疗过程中次优化治疗和医疗差错发生的频率和类型。设计本研究回顾性分析了法国一个地区2000至2006年所有因SBI死亡、且年龄在3个月以上患儿的资料。通过标准化表格对患儿病历进行总结,并由两位专家依据现行指南分别进行独立评价,以判断患儿收住ICU之前的初始治疗是否为最优化治疗。结果因SBI死亡患儿23例,其中21例可作分析。76%患儿的治疗被认为属次优化治疗。两位专家评价高度一致,加权Kappa系数为0.73。可确定的错误包括家长在寻求医疗救治时延误治疗(33%,95%CI:12～54);医生延误正确治疗时机(患儿出现紫癜时仅38%应用抗生素,95%CI:16～60);液体复苏总液量不足或未重复使用液体扩容(24%,95%Cl:9～35);对疾病严重程度总体估计不足(38%,95%CI:16～60)。结论本研究发现在因SBI死亡患儿的初始治疗中,因4类错误导致次优化治疗的频率很高。应作进一步研究探讨如何避免此类死亡的发生。

AIMTo describe factors associated with treatment failure and frequency of resistance-associated substitutions （RAS）.METHODSHuman immunodefciency virus （HIV）/hepatitis C virus （HCV） coinfected patients starting a first direct-acting antiviral （DAA） regimen before February 2016 and included in the French ANRS CO13 HEPAVIH cohort were eligible. Failure was defned as：（1） non-response [HCV-RNA remained detectable during treatment, at end of treatment （EOT）]; and （2） relapse （HCV-RNA suppressed at EOT but detectable thereafter）. Sequencing analysis was performed to describe prevalence of drug class-specifc RAS. Factors associated with failure were determined using logistic regression *** 559 patients, 77% had suppressed plasmaHIV-RNA 〈 50 copies/mL at DAA treatment initiation41% were cirrhotic, and 68% were HCV treatmentexperienced. Virological treatment failures occurred in22 patients and were mainly relapses （17, 77%） thenundefined failures （3, 14%） and non-responses （29%）. Mean treatment duration was 16 wk overall. Posttreatment NS3, NS5A or NS5B RAS were detected in10/14 patients with samples available for sequencinganalysis. After adjustment for age, sex, ribavirin useHCV genotype and treatment duration, low platelecount was the only factor signifcantly associated with ahigher risk of failure （OR： 6.5; 95%CI： 1.8-22.6）. CONCLUSIONOnly 3.9% HIV-HCV coinfected patients failed DAAregimens and RAS were found in 70% of those failingLow platelet count was independently associated withvirological failure.
