Effects of High-Power Ultrasonic Treatment on the Slurryability of Coals

To improve slurryability,high power ultrasonic energy was used to treat coal slurry. The influence of power on the slurryability of raw coals and on the maximum hydro-content (MHC) was investigated by measuring the apparent viscosity before and after treatment. The experimental results show that the effect of treatment on sluryability is different for different rank coals under the same treatment conditions. The coals metamorphosed to lower degree are more sensitive to the ultrasonic treatment. The apparent viscosity of slurries from coal metamorphosed to medium degree clearly decreases after the ultrasonic treatment. The ultrasonic treatment makes MHC decrease,which improves the slurryability. For Shenmu or Hebi coal slurry after 3 min. treatment the maximum fixed-viscosity concentration is increased by about 0.4% and 0.3%,respectively,when the ultrasonic power is 100 W. The maximum fixed-viscosity concentration increased 2.4% and 1.7%,respectively,when the ultrasonic power was 300 W,but it decreased by about 0.4% and 0.7%,respectively,when the power was 500 W.

PCR has been a general preferred method for biological research in fish,and previous research have enabled us to extract and purify PCR-quality DNA templates in laboratories [1-4].The same problem among these procedures is waiting for tissue digesting for a long *** overabundance time spent on PCR-quality DNA extraction restricts the efficiency of PCR assay,especially in large-scale PCR amplification,such as SSR-based genetic-mapping construction [5,6],identification of germ plasm resource[7,8] and evolution research [9,10],*** this study,a stable and rapid PCR-quality DNA extraction method was explored,using a modified alkaline lysis *** DNA for PCR only takes approximately 25 *** stable and rapid DNA extraction method could save much laboratory time and promotes.

The cooperation between China and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations(ASEAN)began with the establishment of dialogue relations between the two sides after the ending of the Cold *** 1994,when the ASEAN Regional Forum was established,China was one of the founding members,marking the beginning of formal security cooperation between China and *** decision to shift to cooperation/enhance willingness to cooperate was made by the two parties after taking stock of the international and regional situation and their respective interests in the wake of the collapse of the bipolar *** cooperation was driven by a consensus on seizing,creating and maintaining strategic opportunities;or more specifically,by taking advantage of development opportunities and striving to maintain regional stability in difficult situations,thus creating a peaceful and amicable strategic regional context for sustainable *** core concept of China-ASEAN security cooperation is developmental peace,with the norms of cooperation being the ASEAN way,cooperative security,the new security concept and the Asian security *** practice,China-ASEAN security cooperation covers three dimensions-strategic stability,management and control of high tension issues,and practical *** opportunities and challenges are emerging in the new era for China-ASEAN security *** speaking,the two sides need to strive for the goal of building an ASEAN community and a China-ASEAN community with a shared future and to properly coordinate the strategic positioning of the long-term core interests of both parties.

Price Transmission in China's Swine Industry with an Application of MCM

The paper studies the relationship, adjustment ability, path, efficiency and intensity of price transmission in the swine industry chain in China, which consists of the prices of corn, compound feed for fattening pig, piglet, pig and pork. Monthly prices covering a period of 18 yr （1994-2011） are analyzed using a Market-Chain Cooperated Model （MCM）. The empirical results show that there exists a stable long-term cointegration and short-term dynamic relationship in the price system. First, the adjustment speed of each price series is very slow and the transmission path is top-down and one-way significantly. Second, the price from upstream to downstream lags about 2 mort, while there is no lag in price transmission from midstream to downstream. Third, in terms of price transmission intensity, the price of pig impacted greatly on pork price, not only in the current period but also through the whole period. Besides, the price of corn has the largest lagged effects on pork price. According to the above empirical results, we suggest that government should strengthen monitoring and early warning of the swine industry chain, especially the upstream and midstream, attach great importance to the timely adjustment of feed prices and perfect the measures of price subsidy.

OBJECTIVE To assess the association between beta-blockers and 1-year clinical outcomes in heart failure(HF)patients with atrial fibrillation(AF),and further explore this association that differs by left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF)*** We enrolled hospitalized HF patients with AF from China Patient-centered Evaluative Assessment of Cardiac Events Prospective Heart Failure *** proportional hazard regression models were employed to calculate hazard ratio of *** primary outcome was all-cause *** Among 1762 HF patients with AF(756 women[41.4%]),1041(56%)received beta-blockers at discharge and 1272(72.2%)had an LVEF>40%.During one year follow up,all-cause death occurred in 305(17.3%),cardiovascular death occurred in203 patients(11.5%),and rehospitalizations for HF occurred in 622 patients(35.2%).After adjusting for demographic characteristics,social economic status,smoking status,medical history,anthropometric characteristics,and medications used at discharge,the use of beta-blockers at discharge was not associated with all-cause death[hazard ratio(HR):0.86;95%Confidence Interval(CI):0.65-1.12;P=0.256],cardiovascular death(HR:0.76,95%CI:0.52-1.11;P=0.160),or the composite outcome of all-cause death and HF rehospitalization(HR:0.97,95%CI:0.82-1.14;P=0.687)in the entire *** were no significant interactions between use of beta-blockers at discharge and LVEF with respect to all-cause death,cardiovascular death,or composite *** the adjusted models,the use of beta-blockers at discharge was not associated with all-cause death,cardiovascular death,or composite outcome across the different levels of LVEF:reduced(linical outcomes,regardless of LVEF.

Measurement of pore diffusion factor of porous solid materials

Internal diffusion of molecules in porous materials plays an important role in many chemical ***, the pore diffusion capacity of porous materials cannot be measured by conventional catalyst characterization methods. In the present paper, a pore diffusion factor, the ratio of the diffusionconstriction factor to the pore tortuosity of the porous materials, was proposed to measure the diffusion ability of pores inside solid materials, and a method was proposed for measuring the diffusion factor using a well-defined and uniform pore size material as a reference. The diffusion factor was calculated based on the effective diffusion coefficients and the diffusion-constriction factor and pore tortuosity of the reference porous materials. The pore diffusion factor measurement can be performed at room temperature and atmospheric pressure. The pore diffusion factor of conventional porous materials was found to be much smaller than 1, indicating that there is a lot of room for improving the diffusion ability of the conventional catalysts and adsorbents, and could be significantly increased through adding small number of fibers into the conventional porous materials as template.
