BACKGROUND Contrast-induced nephropathy(CIN)is a reversible form of acute kidney injury that occurs within 48-72 h of exposure to intravascular contrast *** is the third leading cause of hospital-acquired acute kidney injury and accounts for 12%of such *** factors for CIN development can be divided into patientand *** former includes pre-existing chronic renal insufficiency and diabetes *** latter includes high contrast volume and repeated exposure over 72 *** incidence of CIN is relatively low(up to 5%)in patients with intact renal ***,in patients with known chronic renal insufficiency,the incidence can reach up to 27%.AIM To examine the association between renal enhancement pattern on non-contrast enhanced computed tomographic(CT)images obtained immediately following hepatic artery embolization with development of *** Retrospective review of all patients who underwent hepatic artery embolization between 01/2010 and 01/2011(n=162)was *** without intraprocedural CT imaging(n=51),combined embolization/ablation(n=6)and those with chronic kidney disease(n=21)were *** study group comprised of 84 patients with 106 *** was defined as 25%increase above baseline serum creatinine or absolute increase≥0.5 mg/dL within 72 h ***-embolization CT was reviewed for renal enhancement patterns and presence of renal artery *** association between noncontrast CT findings and CIN development was examined by Fisher’s Exact *** CIN occurred in 11/106(10.3%)procedures(Group A,n=10).The renal enhancement pattern in patients who did not experience CIN(Group B,n=74 with 95/106 procedures)was late excretory in 93/95(98%)and early excretory(EE)in 2/95(2%).However,in Group A,there was a significantly higher rate of EE pattern(6/11,55%)compared to late excretory pattern(5/11)(P<0.001).A significantly higher percentage of patients that developed CIN had re

The increasing demand for oral macromolecule delivery encouraged the development of mi-croencapsulation technologies to protect such drugs against gastric and enzymatic degra-dation. However, microencapsulation often requires harsh conditions that may jeopardizetheir biological activity. Accordingly, many trials attempted to load macromolecules intoporous drug carriers to bypass any formulation induced instability. In this study, we pre-pared chitosan coated porous poly(d, l-lactide-co-glycolide)(PLGA) microparticles(MPs)loaded with insulin using a novel loading technique; double freeze-drying. The resultsshowed a significant increase in drug loading using only 5 mg/ml initial insulin concen-tration and conveyed a sustained drug release over uncoated MPs. Furthermore, SEM andconfocal microscopy confirmed pore blocking and insulin accumulation within the MPs re-spectively. The oral pharmacodynamic data on rats also proved the preservation of insulinbioactivity after formulation. Finally, the new coating technique proved to be efficient inproducing robust layer of chitosan with higher insulin loading while maintaining insulinactivity.

This paper examines the critical role of globalization as a driver for innovation. The introduction of the global strategy quadruple model truly links the three known strategy perspectives （namely, industry competition, resources and institution views） and performance. The model could assist in advancing the cause of sustainable competitive advantages. This study could assist scholars in addressing the three important research questions：（1） Why are some finns more innovative than others？（2） What effects do product, firm, industry, and market innovativeness have on business performance？ and （3） Does the link between innovativeness and business performance depend on all or some of the innovativeness factors of product, firm, industry, and market？ The presented set of four hypotheses, when tested, will result in a better understanding of the links and relationships among a firm＇s global strategy, innovativeness, and business performance. The quadruple model presented can be used to examine these relationships in general and in the context of innovation. It is anticipated that this paper will assist researchers, business management, and analysts in developing global innovation strategies.

Objectives: To evaluate antifouling property of extracts from Red Sea soft corals against primary biofilm and ***: Seven species of soft corals Sarcophyton glaucum(a), Sinularia compressa,Sinularia cruciata(a), Heteroxenia fuscescens(a), Sarcophyton glaucum(b), Heteroxenia fuscescens(b) and Sinularia cruciata(b) were chosen to test their extracts as antibacterial and antifouling agents in Eastern Harbour of Alexandria, Mediterranean *** compounds of soft corals were extracted by using methanol and concentrated under vacuum. The residues of extracts were mixed in formulation of inert paint which consisted of rosin, chlorinated rubber and ferrous oxide against micro and macro fouling organisms. The formulated paints were then applied on PVC panels twice by brush,hanged in a steel frame and immersed in Eastern Harbour of Alexandria Mediterranean Sea followed by visual inspection and photographic ***: After 185 days of immersion in seawater, the antifouling results agreed with the antibacterial results where extracts of Sinularia compressa and Heteroxenia fuscescens(b) gave the best activity against marine fouling tubeworms and barnacles. The inhibition activity was correlated with the major functional groups(hydroxyl, amino, carbonyl,aliphatic(fatty acids), C]C of alkene or aromatic rings and CeC l of aryl halides) of the ***: The strong antifouling activity makes them promising candidates for new antifouling additives. After the screening and application of natural organic compounds from soft corals, marine organisms show activity against micro and macro fouling organisms.

This paper proposes that organizational performance improvement could be achieved through improving the relationship between suppliers and customers. Accordingly, the paper proposes that performance could be improved by properly managing differences （gaps） that are usually found between customers＇ expectations and of suppliers perception with respect to services delivered. The paper also proposes that gaps in the relationship between customers and suppliers could be analyzed using mapping techniques. The paper points to the possibility of finding perception gaps and expectation gaps in the interrelated value attributes of goods and/or services; namely quality, cost, and time of delivery of goods or services to customers. In addition, the paper suggests that those gaps may impact on the performance from the perspectives of quality, cost, and speed of delivery of the service. It is envisaged that this research could assist management in controlling cost and avoid wastage and improve organizational performance.

This paper examines the role of transformational leadership in transforming an organization into a knowledge based, then into learning organization so that it becomes an innovative company. Important features of the leader such and ability to assist in developing and accommodating the implementation of knowledge management programs, learning organization concepts and innovation protocols are discussed in this paper. This paper demonstrates that shifting the organization to become a knowledge based and then to be learning organization and finally to become innovative company could involve some unique attributes of a transformation leadership. In that regards, the paper also demonstrates that organizations need first to create, capture, transfer, and mobilize knowledge before it can be used for learning and then for innovation. The paper will present a method of a studying how successful innovation leaders of companies could found themselves acting in three roles namely： knowledge leader, learning leader and then innovation leader.

This paper examines the critical role of innovations as a driver for sustainable competitive advantages. A quadruple model of global strategy is introduced. The model is based on the introduction of an innovation-based perspective of strategy. This is in addition to the other three but well-known perspectives of global strategy （industry-based, resource-based, and institution-based views）. Thus, the four perspectives of strategy could lead a complete set of factors that need to be analyzed for the formulation of global strategy. The model could assist organizations in sustaining their competitive advantages. It is proposed that the introduction of the innovation-based view represents the fourth perspective of a strategy quadruple, thus overcoming a long-standing criticism, namely, the global strategy may lack adequate attention to innovation in developing a firms＇ global competitive strategies. This paper presents a set of four hypotheses. When tested, these hypotheses could result in a better understanding of the link between the innovation and the global strategy domain. Furthermore, the quadruple model could be useful in understanding the relationship between innovativeness and business performance. It is anticipated that this paper could assist researchers, business management, and analysts in developing global innovation strategies.

The Internet of Things(IoT)is a recent technology,which implies the union of objects,“things”,into a single worldwide *** promising paradigm faces many design challenges associated with the dramatic increase in the number of *** identification is one of these challenges that becomes complicated with the increase of network *** this,there is still no universally accepted method of identifying things that would satisfy all requirements of the existing IoT devices and *** this regard,one of the most important problems is choosing an identification system for all IoT devices connected to the public communication *** unique soft-ware and hardware solutions are used as a unique global identifier;however,such solutions have many *** article proposes a novel solution,based on the Digital Object Architecture(DOA),that meets the requirements of identifying devices and applications of the *** work analyzes the benefits of using the DOA as an identification platform in modern telecommunication *** propose a model of an identification system based on the architecture of digital objects,which differs from the well-known *** proposed model ensures an acceptable quality of service(QoS)in the common architecture of the existing public communication networks.A novel interaction architecture is developed by introducing a Middle Handle Register(MHR)between the global register,i.e.,Global Handle Register(GHR),and local register,i.e.,Local Handle Register(LHR).The aspects of the network interaction and the compatibility of IoT end-devices with the integrated DOA identifiers in heterogeneous communication networks are *** developed model is simulated for a wide-area network with allocated registers,and the results are introduced and discussed.
