The.Golde. Jackal (e.>Canis aure.se.> Linnae.s, 1758), which be.ongs to the.Canidae.family, is an opportunist carnivore.in the.Gaza Strip (365 square.kilome.e.s). The.curre.t study aims at giving note. on the.occurre.ce.and some.e.ological aspe.ts of the.spe.ie. in the.Gaza Strip, Pale.tine. The.study, which laste. 14 ye.rs (2007-2020), is de.criptive.and cumulative.in its style. It was base. on fre.ue.t fie.d visits, dire.t obse.vations and me.tings and discussions with wildlife.hunte.s, farme.s and othe. stake.olde.s. The.findings of the.study show that Gazans are.familiar with the.Golde. Jackal to the.e.te.t that a Gazan family holds the.Arabic name.of the.animal, which is “e.>Wawie.>”. The.Golde. Jackal was some.ime. e.counte.e. and hunte. in the.e.ste.n parts of the.Gaza Strip, which are.characte.ize. by the.pre.e.ce.of wilde.ne.s are.s, inte.sive.agriculture. poultry pe.s and solid waste.landfills. Like.othe. a fe. mammalian faunas, the.adult Golde. Jackals e.te. the.Gaza Strip through gaps in or burrows be.e.th the.me.al borde.s se.arating the.Gaza Strip from the.re.t of the.Pale.tinian Te.ritorie. and e.ypt. Gaza zoos we.e.found to harbor te.s of Golde. Jackals trappe. or hunte. by cle.e. wildlife.hunte.s using diffe.e.t me.ns such as wire.cage. known locally as “e.>maltashe.>” and foothold traps with me.al jaws that may cause.le.ions to the.trappe. animals. Poisoning and shooting we.e.also common me.hods use. to control the.jackals and othe. carnivore. causing harm to agriculture.and live.tock. The.animal was known among the.Gazans as an omnivore. fe.ding on wild and dome.tic animals in addition to plant mate.ials, garbage.and carrions. In conclusion, the.study re.omme.ds the.ne.d to raise.e.ological aware.e.s to pre.e.ve.the.Golde. jackal and to adopt safe.control me.sure. for jackals and othe. carnivore., including the.construction of prote.tive.fe.ce. for agricultural fie.ds and animal pe.s.

The.curre.t cumulative.and de.criptive.study aims to e.ume.ate.some.re.ative.y large.marine.mammals, re.tile., and fishe. that have.be.n spotte., caught, by-caught, or strande. on the.coast of the.Gaza Strip, Pale.tine. which e.te.ds about 42 km along the.Me.ite.rane.n Se.. This 20-ye.r study from 2003 to 2022 re.ie. much on fre.ue.t fie.d visits, me.tings, and discussions with stake.olde.s, following local me.ia site. and social me.ia page., and photography. The.study re.orde. at le.st 26 giants or re.ative.y large.marine.organisms on the.Me.ite.rane.n coast of the.Gaza Strip, Pale.tine. Ce.tainly, the.coming ye.rs may bring othe. marine.organisms of re.ative.y large.size.. Marine.mammals include. thre. spe.ie. of ce.ace.ns with the.Fin Whale.(Balae.opte.a physalus) be.ng the.large.t mammal and e.e. the.large.t animal e.e. re.orde. in this study. Marine.re.tile. include. thre. spe.ie. of se. turtle., the.large.t of which is the.Le.the.back Se. Turtle.(De.moche.ys coriace.), which is in fact the.world’s large.t se. turtle. The.bony fishe. we.e.re.re.e.te. by te. spe.ie., the.large.t of which was the.Oce.n Sunfish (Mola mola), which is the.large.t bony fish in the.world. The.cartilaginous fishe. include. te. spe.ie. with the.large.t spe.ime.s e.counte.e. we.e.the.Shortfin Shark (Isurus oxyrinchus), Bluntnose.Sixgill Shark (He.anchus grise.s), Scallope. Hamme.he.d Shark (Sphyrna le.ini), and Giant De.il Ray (Mobula mobular). Se.birds we.e.not include. in the.study. The.Ale.andria Pompano (Ale.tis ale.andrinus) and the.Silve.-Che.ke. Toadfish (Lagoce.halus sce.e.atus), which are.bony fishe., appe.r to be.the.re.ative.y smalle.t marine.organisms re.orde. he.e. In conclusion, the.role.of the.various partie. must be.coordinate. to e.sure.the.sustainability of human activitie. and the.r compatibility with the.task of conse.ving local marine.biota, including the.gigantic or re.ative.y large.one..
