Micro-arc oxidation(MAO) technique is capable of producing dense oxide films on the aluminium alloy surface. This oxide film protects the aluminium alloy from the corrosion attack for longer *** relationships were derived to evaluate the MAO coating properties(porosity and hardness) by incorporating very important MAO parameters(current density, inter-electrode distance and oxidation time). MAO parameters were also optimized to achieve coatings with minimum porosity and maximum hardness. Further, the effect of MAO parameters on coating characteristics was analysed. From the results, it is found that the current density has greater influence on the responses than the other two parameters.

Accurate crop and weed discrimination plays a critical role in addressing the challenges of weed management in *** use of herbicides is currently the most common approach to weed ***,herbicide resistant plants have long been recognised as a major concern due to the excessive use of *** weed detection techniques can reduce the cost of weed management and improve crop quality and yield.A computationally efficient and robust plant classification algorithm is developed and applied to the classification of three crops:Brassica napus(canola),Zea mays(maize/corn),and *** developed algorithm is based on the combination of Local Binary Pattern(LBP)operators,for the extraction of crop leaf textural features and Support vector machine(SVM)method,for multiclass plant *** paper presents the first investigation of the accuracy of the combined LBP algorithms,trained using a large dataset of canola,radish and barley leaf images captured by a testing facility under simulated field *** dataset has four subclasses,background,canola,corn,and radish,with 24,000 images used for training and 6000 images,for *** dataset is referred herein as "bccr-segset"and published *** each subclass,plant images are collected at four crop growth ***,the algorithm demonstrates plant classification accuracy as high as 91.85%,for the four classes.

This survey paper provides a comprehensive analysis of big data algorithms in recommendation systems, addressing the lack of depth and precision in existing literature. It proposes a two-pronged approach: a thorough analysis of current algorithms and a novel, hierarchical taxonomy for precise categorization. The taxonomy is based on a tri-level hierarchy, starting with the methodology category and narrowing down to specific techniques. Such a framework allows for a structured and comprehensive classification of algorithms, assisting researchers in understanding the interrelationships among diverse algorithms and techniques. Covering a wide range of algorithms, this taxonomy first categorizes algorithms into four main analysis types: user and item similarity based methods, hybrid and combined approaches, deep learning and algorithmic methods, and mathematical modeling methods, with further subdivisions into sub-categories and techniques. The paper incorporates both empirical and experimental evaluations to differentiate between the techniques. The empirical evaluation ranks the techniques based on four criteria. The experimental assessments rank the algorithms that belong to the same category, sub-category, technique, and sub-technique. Also, the paper illuminates the future prospects of big data techniques in recommendation systems, underscoring potential advancements and opportunities for further research in this fields.

BACKGROUND The relationship between diabetes mellitus(DM)and asthma is complex and can impact disease *** To explore the bidirectional influences between the two conditions on clinical outcomes and disease *** We systematically reviewed the literature on the relationship between DM and asthma,focusing on their impacts,mechanisms,and therapeutic *** studies were assessed,which investigated the effect of glycemic control on asthma outcomes,lung function,and *** study highlighted the role of specific diabetes medications in managing *** The results showed that poor glycemic control in diabetes can exacerbate asthma,increase hospitalizations,and reduce lung ***,severe asthma,especially in obese individuals,can complicate diabetes management and make glycemic control more *** diabetes-associated mechanisms,such as inflammation,microangiopathy,and oxidative stress,can exacerbate asthma and decrease lung *** diabetes medications exhibit anti-inflammatory effects that show promise in mitigating asthma *** The complex interrelationship between diabetes and asthma suggests bidirectional influences that affect disease course and *** and microvascular complications associated with diabetes may worsen asthma outcomes,while asthma severity,especially in obese individuals,complicates diabetes ***,the current research has limitations,and more diverse longitudinal studies are required to establish causal relationships and identify effective treatment strategies for individuals with both conditions.

Objective:To explore the clinical features,diagnosis,etiology,treatment,and outcomes of COVID-19 related ***:Using PRISMA statement,a systematic search of relevant case reports published between December 2019 and April 2023 was performed through seven *** collected data included demographics,clinical manifestations,diagnostic findings,treatment,and ***:Thirty-six case reports were identified with 43 cases of *** included cases had a median age of 55 years(range:12-78 years)and 79.1%(34/43)were *** majority of cases presented during hospitalization for management of acute COVID-19 infection(29/43,67.4%)and Charlson comorbidity index<3(40/43,93.0%).Pseudomonas aeruginosa was the most commonly isolated microorganism from the pleural fluid(9/43,20.9%)and 16.3%of the cases(7/43)had polymicrobial *** drainage was performed in all cases while surgery was indicated in 24 cases(55.8%).The most common complication of COVID-19-related empyema was broncho-pleural fistula(2/43,4.7%).The mortality rate was 23.3%(10/43).Sepsis and/or multi-organ failure were the most commonly reported causes of *** univariate analysis,no statistically significant risk factor for mortality was ***:COVID-19-associated empyema has a variety of predisposing factors,time of presentation,clinical features,and causative *** or minimally invasive surgical procedures are performed more frequently than isolated chest *** in COVID-19 patients worsens their prognosis and can lead to serious complications.

We investigated the temperature dependency of the dynamic mechanical properties of cement asphalt paste by the dynamic mechanical thermal analysis（DMTA） method. The experimental results show that the dynamic mechanical properties of cement asphalt pastes are sensitive to temperature due to the inclusion of asphalt, and may go through different states within a temperature range of-40 ℃ to 60 ℃, which is different from that of pure cement and asphalt. As the temperature of the cement asphalt paste increases, a considerable change of dynamic mechanical properties, including storage modulus（E＇）, loss modulus（E＇＇） and loss factor（tand） is observed. Moreover, the influence of asphalt to cement（A/C） ratio on the temperature sensitivity of the dynamic mechanical properties of cement asphalt composites was investigated. The temperature dependency of cement asphalt composites is ascribed to the temperature dependency of the asphalt and its interaction with cement paste. A simple fractional model is proposed to describe the viscoelastic behavior of cement asphalt composites.

Despite the machine learning(ML)methods have been largely used recently,the predicted materials properties usually cannot exceed the range of original training *** deployed a boundless objective-free exploration approach to combine traditional ML and density functional theory(DFT)in searching extreme material *** combination not only improves the efficiency for screening large-scale materials with minimal DFT inquiry,but also yields properties beyond original training *** use Stein novelty to recommend outliers and then verify using *** data are then added into the training dataset for next round *** test the loop of training-recommendation-validation in mechanical property *** screening 85,707 crystal structures,we identify 21 ultrahigh hardness structures and 11 negative Poisson’s ratio *** algorithm is very promising for future materials discovery that can push materials properties to the limit with minimal DFT calculations on only~1%of the structures in the screening pool.

An insect is an excellent biological object for the bio-inspirations to design and develop a MAV. This paper presents the simulation study of the flight characteristics of the deployable hindwings of beetle, Dorcustitanus platymelus. A 3D geometric model of the beetle was obtained using a 3D laser scanning technique. By studying its hindwings and flight mechanism, the mathematical model of the flapping motion of its hindwings was analyzed. Then a simulation analysis was carried out to analyze and evaluate the flapping flying aerodynamic characteristics. After that, the flow of blood in the hindwing veins was studied through simulation to determine the maximum pressure on a vein surface and the minimum blood flow in flight. A number of interesting bio-inspirations were obtained. It is believed that these findings can be used for the design and development of a MAV with similar flying capabilities to a natural beetle.
