We study a vac.tion queueing system with a single server simultaneously dealing with an M/G/1 and an M/D/1 queue. Two c.asses of units, priority and non-priority, arrive at the system in two independent Poisson streams. Under a non-preemptive priority rule, the server provides a general servic. to the priority units and a deterministic.servic. to the non-priority units. We further assume that the server may take a vac.tion of random length just after serving the last priority unit present in the system. We obtain steady state queue size distribution at a random epoc.. c.rresponding results for some spec.al c.ses, inc.uding the known results of the M/G/1 and the M/D/1 queues, have been derived.

We study a two stage queuing model where the server provides two stages of servic. one by one in suc.ession. We c.nsider reneging to oc.ur when the server is unavailable during the system breakdown or vac.tion periods. We c.nc.ntrate on deriving the steady state solutions by using supplementary variable tec.nique and c.lc.late the mean queue length and mean waiting time. Further some spec.al c.ses are also disc.ssed and numeric.l examples are presented.

We develop and analyze a mathematic.l model for the transmission dynamic. of HIV that ac.ounts for behavioral c.ange. The c.ntac. rate is modeled by a dec.easing func.ion (response func.ion) of HIV prevalenc. to reflec. a reduc.ion in risky behavior that results from the awareness of individuals to a higher HIV prevalenc.. The model also inc.udes a distributed delay representing the time needed for individuals to reduc. their risky behavior. We study mathematic.lly and numeric.lly the impac. of the response func.ion and the distributed delay on the model's dynamic.. Threshold values for the delay at whic. the system destabilizes and periodic.solutions c.n arise through Hopf bifurc.tion are determined.

There are evidenc.s indic.ting that c.steine proteases play an essential role in malaria parasites;therefore, an obvious area of investigation is the inhibition of these enzymes to treat malaria. Small c.steine protease inhibitors of malaria are well studied, but mac.omolec.lar nature of inhibitor is a new field to explore. In malarial c.steine proteases, there are mac.omolec.lar endogenous inhibitors playing important roles in regulation of the c.steine protease ac.ivity of parasite and host. Rec.nt studies suggested that there are known and c.arac.erized endogenous inhibitors like falstatin present in P. falc.parum, PbIc. (inhibitor of c.steine protease in P. berghei), PyIc. (inhibitor of c.steine protease in P. yoelli), and other mac.omolec.lar inhibitors whic. are the prodomain of enzyme itself regulating the ac.ivity of the mature enzyme. All the known mac.omolec.lar endogenous inhibitors are using spec.fic.loop-like struc.ure to interac. with malarial c.steine proteases. The majority of mac.omolec.lar inhibitors are c.mpetitive in nature, and bloc. ac.ess to the ac.ive site of their target protease, but do not bind in a stric.ly substrate-like manner. They rather interac. with the protease subsites and c.talytic.residues in a non-c.talytic.lly c.mpetent manner. In future, designing inhibitors based on these protein-protein interac.ions will be a new approac. in the field of malaria. Sinc. mac.omolec.lar inhibitors c.n gain potenc. through the burial of a large surfac. area and spec.fic.ty through c.ntac.s with sec.ndary binding sites c.itic.l for inhibition, and c.uld be less prone to drug resistant mutation.

Objec.ive:To synthesize silver nanopartic.es using silver nitrate by a green tec.nique whic. involves different c.mpositions of aqueous leaf extrac.s of Azadirac.ta indic.(neem)and Oc.mum sanc.um(tulsi).Methods:Their shape and size were determined using transmission elec.ron mic.osc.py and UV-visible *** antiplasmodial ac.ivity was studied using the malarial parasite strain(Plasmodium falc.parum,3D7).The parasite strain(3D7)was c.llec.ed and revived in vitro using Trager and Jensen method in RPMI 1640 medium for *** maximal effec.ive c.nc.ntration values were c.lc.lated by nonlinear regression ***:Transmission elec.ron mic.osc.py results c.nfirmed the formation of silver nanopartic.es with size ranging from 4.74-39.32 nm and their size differs by varying the c.nc.ntrations from 20%to 100%of neem extrac. in neem and tulsi *** was observed that samples B and c.showed half maximum effec.ive c.nc.ntration of about 0.3μ***:It c.n be easily established that the aqueous leaf extrac.s of neem and tulsi in c.mbination c.n be a good sourc. for synthesis of silver nanopartic.es with small size possessing apprec.able antiplasmodial ac.ivity.

Aim： To identify the genotype of two Indians with male pseudohermaphroditism. Methods： Standard radioimmunoassay proc.dure was used for estimating hormonal levels. c.nventional c.togenetic.analysis was c.rded out for diagnosing the genetic.sex in these subjec.s with genital ambiguity. Molec.lar analysis was c.rried out by standard polymerase c.ain reac.ion proc.dure using different sets of primers and reac.ion c.nditions spec.fic.for the 5α- reduc.ase type 2 gene （SRDSA2） gene. Direc. sequenc.ng was c.rried out using the ABI Prism dye terminator sequenc.ng kit and the ABI 310 sequenc.ng apparatus. Results： We found an SRDSA2 gene mutation in exon 5, where arginine is substituted with glutamine （R246Q）, in two males with pseudohermaphroditism and ambiguous genitalia from unrelated families.
