Effectiveness of digital psychotherapeutic intervention among perinatal women:A systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials

A Deep Learning-Based Continuous Blood Pressure Measurement by Dual Photoplethysmography Signals

This study proposed a measurement platform for continuous blood pressure estimation based on dual photoplethysmography(PPG)sensors and a deep learning(DL)that can be used for continuous and rapid measurement of blood pressure and analysis of cardiovascular-related *** proposed platform measured the signal changes in PPG and converted them into physiological indicators,such as pulse transit time(PTT),pulse wave velocity(PWV),perfusion index(PI)and heart rate(HR);these indicators were then fed into the DL to calculate blood *** hardware of the experiment comprised 2 PPG components(i.e.,Raspberry Pi 3 Model B and analog-todigital converter[MCP3008]),which were connected using a serial peripheral *** DL algorithm converted the stable dual PPG signals acquired from the strictly standardized experimental process into various physiological indicators as input parameters and finally obtained the systolic blood pressure(SBP),diastolic blood pressure(DBP)and mean arterial pressure(MAP).To increase the robustness of the DL model,this study input data of 100 Asian participants into the training database,including those with and without cardiovascular disease,each with a proportion of approximately 50%.The experimental results revealed that the mean absolute error and standard deviation of SBP was 0.17±0.46 *** mean absolute error and standard deviation of DBP was 0.27±0.52 *** mean absolute error and standard deviation of MAP was 0.16±0.40 mmHg.

Applying model simulation and photochemical indicators to evaluate ozone sensitivity in southern Taiwan

Ozone sensitivity was investigated using CAMx simulations and photochemical indicator ratios at three sites （Pingtung City, Chao-Chou Town, and Kenting Town） in Pingtung County in southern Taiwan during 2003 and 2004. The CAMx simulations compared fairly well with the hourly concentrations of ozone. Simulation results also showed that Pingtung City was mainly a volatile organic compounds （VOC）-sensitive regime, while Chao-Chou Town was either a VOC-sensitive or a NOx-sensitive regime, depending on the seasons. Measurements of three photochemical indicators （H202, HNO3, and NOy） were conducted, and simulated three transition ranges of H202/HNO3 （0.5-0.8）, O3/HNO3 （10.3-16.2） and O3/NOy （5.7-10.8） were adopted to assess the ozone sensitive regime at the three sites. The results indicated that the three transition ranges yield consistent results with CAMx simulations at most times at Pingtung City. However, both VOC-sensitive and NOx-sensitive regimes were important at the rural site Chao-Chou Town. Kenting Town, a touring site at the southern end of Taiwan, was predominated by a NOx-sensitive regime in four seasons.

Cryogenic 3D printing of dual-delivery scaffolds for improved bone regeneration with enhanced vascularization

Three-dimensional(3D)printing has been increasingly employed to produce advanced bone tissue engineering scaffolds with biomimetic structures and matched mechanical strengths,in order to induce improved bone regeneration in defects with a critical *** that the successful bone regeneration requires both excellent osteogenesis and vascularization,endowing scaffolds with both strong bone forming ability and favorable angiogenic potential would be highly desirable to induce improved bone regeneration with required *** this investigation,customized bone tissue engineering scaffolds with balanced osteoconductivity/osteoinductivity were produced via cryogenic 3D printing ofβ-tricalcium phosphate and osteogenic peptide(OP)containing water/poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid)/dichloromethane emulsion *** fabricated scaffolds had a hierarchically porous structure and were mechanically comparable to human cancellous *** peptide(AP)containing collagen I hydrogel was then coated on scaffold surface to further provide scaffolds with angiogenic capability.A sequential release with a quick AP release and a slow but sustained OP release was obtained for the *** rat endothelial cells(ECs)and rat bone marrow derived mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs)showed high viability on *** in vitro migration and angiogenesis of ECs were obtained for scaffolds delivered with AP while enhanced osteogenic differentiation was observed in scaffolds containing *** in vivo results showed that,toward scaffolds containing both AP and OP,the quick release of AP induced obvious angiogenesis in vivo,while the sustained OP release significantly improved the new bone *** study provides a facile method to produce dual-delivery scaffolds to achieve multiple functions.

Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)is the most common type of primary liver *** treatment options are available for managing HCC patients,classified roughly as local,local-regional,and systemic *** high postmonotherapy recurrence rate of HCC urges the need for the use of combined modalities to increase tumor control and patient *** international guidelines offer treatment recommendations based on different points of view and classification ***(RT)is a well-known local-regional treatment modality for managing many types of cancers,including ***,only some of these treatment guidelines include RT,and the role of combined modalities is rarely ***,the present study reviewed clinical evidence for the use of different combined modalities in managing HCC,focusing on modern RT's *** RT has an increased utility in managing HCC patients,mainly due to two driving ***,technological advancement(e.g.,stereotactic body radiotherapy and advanced proton-beam therapy)enables precise delivery of radiation to increase tumor control and reduce side effects in the surrounding normal ***,the boom in developing target therapies and checkpoint-blockade immunotherapy prolongs overall survival in HCC patients,re-emphasizing the importance of local tumor ***,RT combines with systemic therapies to generate the systemic therapy augmented by radiotherapy effect,a benefit now being actively investigated.

Background:Cisplatin is a chemotherapeutic agent commonly used clinically for the treatment of various human *** often reduce the use of cisplatin due to its side effects,which in turn affects its *** study explored the mechanism of action of safflower extract as an adjuvant traditional Chinese medicine for ***:Primary human follicle dermal papilla cells(HFDPCs)were used as target cells for cisplatininduced damage to hair *** blotting was used to investigate the molecular targets of cisplatin and safflower extract in causing HFDPCs *** survival and cell cycle were analyzed by mitochondrial staining reagent WST-1 and propidium ***:Cisplatin could reduce the viability of HFDPCs without causing cell *** increased the level of phospho-Rad17 in HFDPCs and activated the Chk1/Cdc25C signaling to reduce the expression of Cdc2 protein,thereby arresting the cells in the G2/M *** combination of safflower extract and the flavonoids could effectively inhibit the signal transduction of Rad17/Chk1/Cdc25 in cisplatin-treated cells and reduce the cell population in the G2/M ***,we also confirmed that safflower extract could effectively inhibit the damage to HFDPCs caused by cisplatin,mainly at the level of reducing the DNA damage caused by ***:Safflower extract can be used as an adjuvant Chinese medicine for chemotherapy to reduce the damage caused by chemotherapy to normal hair follicle cells.

BACKGROUND Metabolic syndrome is a cluster of cardiovascular risk factors, including central obesity, high blood pressure, elevated plasma glucose, reduced high-density lipoprotein and elevated triglyceride *** To investigate the relationship between metabolic biomarkers and long-term blood pressure variability(BPV) in young *** A cohort of 1112 healthy military males aged 18-40 years from the cardiorespiratory fitness and hospitalization events in armed forces study in eastern Taiwan was prospectively included. The following metabolic biomarkers were used: Waist circumference, serum uric acid(SUA), triglycerides, high density lipoprotein, triglycerides, and fasting glycose. BPV was assessed by average real variability(ARV) and standard deviation(SD) across 4 clinic visits during the study period(2012-14, 2014-15, 2015-16, and 2016-18). Multivariable linear regression analysis was used to determine the association after adjusting for age, body mass index, systolic and diastolic blood pressure(SBP and DBP),lipid profiles, physical activity, alcohol intake and tobacco smoking *** In the unadjusted model, waist circumference was significantly and positively correlated with ARVDBP and SDDBP [β(standard errors) = 0.16(0.049) and 0.22(0.065), respectively], as was SUA [β = 0.022(0.009) and 0.038(0.012),respectively]. High-density lipoprotein was negatively correlated with ARVSBP [β=-0.13(0.063)]. There were no associations with the other metabolic *** contrast, only SUA was significantly correlated with SDSBP and SDDBP [β = 0.019(0.011) and 0.027(0.010), respectively] in the adjusted *** Our findings showed that of traditional metabolic biomarkers, SUA had the strongest positive correlation with long-term systolic and diastolic BPV in young male adults, and the clinical relevance needs further investigation.
