Electric vehicles(Evs)have gained prominence in the present energy transition *** adoption of Evs necessitates an accurate State of Charge estimation(SoC)*** predictive SoC estimations with smart charging strategies not only optimizes charging efficiency and grid reliability but also extends battery lifespan while continuously enhancing the accuracy of SoC predictions,marking a crucial milestone in sustainable electric vehicle *** this research study,machine learning methods,particularly Artificial Neural Networks(ANN),are employed for SoC estimation of LiFePO4 batteries,resulting in efficient and accurate estimation *** investigation first focuses on developing a custom-designed battery pack with 12v,4 Ah capacity with a facility for real-time data collection through a dedicated hardware *** voltage,current and open-circuit voltage of the battery are monitored with computerized battery *** battery temperature is sensed with a DHT22 temperature sensor interfaced with Raspberry *** components are derived for the collected battery data set and analyzed for feature *** principal components were generated as input parameters for the developed *** Stopping for the ANN was also implemented to achieve faster convergence of the *** considering eleven combinations for ten different optimizers loss function is *** analysis of hyperparameter tuning and optimizer selection revealed that the Adafactor optimizer with specific settings produced the best results with an RMSE value of 0.4083 and an R2 Score of *** proposed algorithm was also implemented for two different types of datasets,a UDDS drive cycle and a standard cell-level *** results obtained were in line with the results obtained with the ANN model developed based on the data collected from the developed experimental setup.

Increased nighttime respiratory losses decrease the amount of photoassimilates available for plant growth and yield. We hypothesized that the increased respiratory carbon loss under high night temperatures(HNT) could be compensated for by increased photosynthesis during the day following HNT exposure. Two rice genotypes, vandana(HNT-sensitive) and Nagina 22(HNT-tolerant), were exposed to HNT(4 ℃ above the control) from flowering to physiological maturity. They were assessed for alterations in the carbon balance of the source(flag leaf) and its subsequent impact on grain filling dynamics and the quality of spatially differentiated sinks(superior and inferior spikelets). Both genotypes exhibited significantly higher night respiration rates. However, only Nagina 22 compensated for the high respiration rates with an increased photosynthetic rate, resulting in a steady production of total dry matter under HNT. Nagina 22 also recorded a higher grain-filling rate, particularly at 5 and 10 d after flowering, with 1.5- and 4.0-fold increases in the translocation of ^(14)C sugars to the superior and inferior spikelets, respectively. The ratio of photosynthetic rate to respiratory rate on a leaf area basis was negatively correlated with spikelet sterility, resulting in a higher filled spikelet number and grain weight per plant, particularly for inferior grains in Nagina 22. Grain quality parameters such as head rice recovery, high-density grains, and gelatinization temperature were maintained in Nagina 22. An increase in the rheological properties of rice flour starch in Nagina 22 under HNT indicated the stability of starch and its ability to reorganize during the cooling process of product formation. Thus, our study showed that sink adjustments between superior and inferior spikelets favored the growth of inferior spikelets, which helped to offset the reduction in grain weight under HNT in the tolerant genotype Nagina 22.

Influence of Accompanying Anions on Potassium Retention and Leaching in Potato Growing Alluvial Soils

A column study was carried out to assess the influence of accompanying anions on potassium （k） leaching at potato growing sites with different soil textures （sandy loam and clay loam） in northwestern India. Potassium was applied in the top 15 cm layer of soil column at 30 and 60 mg k kg-1 through different sources having different accompanying anions （CI-, SO^-, NO3 and H2PO4-）. Maximum k was retained in the top 0-15 cm layer with a sharp decrease in k content occurring in 15 30 cm layer of the soil column. The trend was similar for both levels of applied k as well as frequency of leaching and soil type. The decrease of k content in soil column after four leaching events was maximum in case of khanaura sandy loam, while only minor decrease was observed in Hundowal clay loam when k was applied at 60 mg k kg-1, indicating higher potential of clay rich soil to adsorb k. In general, the k leaching in presence of the accompanying anions followed the order of SO4^2-≤ H2PO42- 〈 NO3 = Cl-. Highest 1 mol·L^-1 CH3COONH4-extractable k was retained when k was applied along with SO4^2- and H2PO4 anions, and the least was retained when accompanying anion was Cl-. The influence of anions was more pronounced in the light textured soil and at high amounts of k application. Higher levels of k application resulted in higher losses of k, especially in sandy loam soil as observed from the leachate concentration. Among the different k sources, the maximum amount of k leaching was noticed in the soil column amended with kC1. After four leachings, the maximum amount of k leached out was 6.40 mg L-1 in Hundowal clay loam and 9.29 mg L-1 in khanaura sandy loam at 60 mg k kg-1 of soil application through kC1. These concentrations were lower than the recommended guideline of the World Health Organisation （12.00 mg L-1）.
