Rare earth-doped mixed Ni-Cu-Zn ferrites as an effective photocatalytic agent for active degradation of Rhodamine B dye

In this study, a series of Gd^(3+)-doped mixed Ni-Cu-Zn ferrites with composition of Zn_(0.5)Ni_(0.3)Cu_(0.2)Fe_(2-x)Gd_(x)O_(4)(x = 0, 0.025, 0.05, 0.075, 0.1) was prepared using self-ignition sol-gel method. The prepared nanoparticles with an average size ranging from 22 to 26 nm show a single-phase cubic structure belonging to the spinel matrix. A rise in the Gd^(3+)concentration leads to an increase in crystallite size and lattice parameter. In Fourier transform infrared spectra, two main absorption bands belonging to the spinel structure are observed. The high-frequency bands(v_(1)) represent the tetrahedral complex, while the lowfrequency bands(v_(2)) signify the octahedral complex. The optical bandgap of the nanoferrites is found within the range of 2.91 to 2.41 eV, depending on their size. The magnetic characteristics of the material,such as saturation magnetization and coercivity are significantly altered with the concentration of Gd^(3+)in the solution. Using Rhodamine B(RhB) as a model organic pollutant, an in-depth investigation of the photocatalytic activity of the compounds was carried out. The present outcomes show that adding an adequate amount of Gd^(3+)significantly enhances the number of hydroxyl radicals produced by the ferrite,in turn, increasing the photocatalytic activity of the material. Mechanism elucidated by scavenger studies reveals that ·OH and holes are the primary reactive radicals responsible for the degradation *** photocatalysts show an insignificant performance loss in five consecutive cycles. Thus, it is concluded that these photocatalysts are highly suitable for the remediation of dye-contaminated wastewater.

A major concern from the scientific community has been raised since evidence of Bisphenol A(BP-A)can leach out from the products where they are incorporated as well as its endocrine disrupting effects observed in animals and ***-A and several related chemicals such as Bisphenol AP(BP-AP),Bisphenol B(BPeB),Bisphenol s(BPes),Bisphenol AF(BP-AF),Bisphenol(BPeP),Bisphenol Z(BP-Z)were analyzed in this ***-A and BP-s were the only bisphenols detected in the samples analyzed in this *** median(range;mean)concentrations of BP-A found in this study was 321 ng/g(11-200932;4893 ng/g).The analysis was carried out by sonicating 0.1 g of a cryo-milled sample aliquot in methanol followed by UPLC-Ms/Ms *** concentrations of BP-A were found in several products labeled as BP-A free such as nursing bottles which are particularly problematic from the children's exposure point of *** study presents the first reliable bisphenols in children's toys and baby products commercialized in the Middle *** is,however,a need to continue monitoring these compounds,especially in low-cost toys,and the so-called BP-A-free products,which appear to have high levels of target contaminants and can pose an exposure risk for infants and children in the region.

The present study investigates the physical and chemical characteristics,behavior in vitro and in vivo,and biocompatibility of coatings containing Ta_(2)O_(5),which are obtained by plasma electrolytic oxidation(PEO)on MA8 magnesium *** obtained coatings demonstrate in vivo biocompatibility and in vitro *** to the base PEO coating,the layers containing Ta_(2)O_(5)facilitate the development of apatite in simulated body fluid,suggesting that the inclusion of nanoparticles improves bioactivity of the *** was found that incorporation of Ta_(2)O_(5)nanoparticles increases roughness and porosity of the formed layers by increasing particle concentration in electrolytes for the PEO process contributing to sufficient soft tissue ingrowth in *** on in vivo studies,these coatings also provide favorable tissue response and minimal inflammatory reaction in comparison with the bare magnesium alloy due to protection of living tissues from deleterious corrosion events of magnesium implant such as local alkalization and intense hydrogen *** results obtained in the present study concluded biocompatibility,tissue integration of the PEO coatings containing Ta_(2)O_(5)nanoparticles making them a promising protective layer for biodegradable magnesium implants.

Attitude and willingness on gamete donation among medical students:An experience from a state university in sri Lanka

Objective:To assess the attitude and willingness of medical students of the Faculty of Medicine,University of Jaffna,regarding gamete ***:An institutional-based descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted at the Faculty of Medicine,University of Jaffna,from september 2022 to May 2023 among undergraduate medical students who gave their voluntary participation.A self-administered questionnaire was used as a study instrument to collect data regarding their attitude and willingness toward gamete ***:A total of 345 participants were recruited and their sociodemographic data revealed that 56.8%of the participants were female,62.3%aged between 26 and 30 years,and 92.2%were *** of them received information regarding gamete donations during their clinical *** half(67.8%)of them showed a negative attitude towards gamete *** willingness,only 39.7%of participants had a positive approach for being a gamete donor;among them,84.7%preferred anonymous *** and ethnicity had a significant influence on their attitudes and *** addition,male was also found to be more willing to donate ***:Most medical students have negative views about gamete *** awareness and knowledge of assisted reproductive technology and gamete donation within medical students'sociocultural and ethical backgrounds might facilitate a change in attitude towards gamete donation amongst future medical practitioners.

Comparative analysis of jet and underlying event properties across various models as a function of charged particle multiplicity at 7 TeV

In this study,a comprehensive analysis of jets and underlying events as a function of charged particle multiplicity in proton-proton(pp)collisions at a center-of-mass energy of √s=7 TeV is *** Monte Carlo(MC)event generators,including Pythia8.308,EPOs 1.99,EPOsLHC,EPOs4_(Hydro),and EPOs4_(noHydro),are employed to predict particle *** predictions from these models are compared with experimental data from the CMs *** charged particles are categorized into those associated with underlying events and those linked to jets,and the analysis is restricted to charged particles with|η|0.25 GeV/*** comparing the MC predictions with CMs data,we find that EPOs4_(Hydro),EPOsLHC,and Pythia8 consistently reproduce the experimental results for all charged particles,underlying events,intrajets,and leading charged *** charged jet rates with p_T^(***)>5 GeV/c,EPOs4_(Hydro)and Pythia8 perform exceptionally *** the case of charged jet rates with p_T^(***)→30 GeV/c,EPOsLHC reproduces satisfactorily good results,whereas EPOs4 Hydro exhibits good agreement with the data at higher charged particle multiplicities compared to the other *** can be attributed to the conversion of energy into flow when"Hydro=on"leading to an increase in *** EPOsLHC model describes the data better owing to the new collective flow effects,correlated flow treatment,and parameterization compared to EPOs ***,the examination of the jet p_T spectrum and normalized charged p_T density reveals that EPOs4_(Hydro),EPOs4_(noHydro),and EPOsLHC exhibit good agreement with the experimental results,whereas Pythia8 and EPOs 1.99 do not perform as well owing to the lack of correlated flow treatment.

While we eagerly anticipate sMILE’s(solar wind Magnetosphere Ionosphere Link Explorer)unprecedented X-ray observations of the Earth’s magnetosheath and the initiation of a new era of magnetospheric research,it seems appropriate to look ahead to the abilities of the next generation of astrophysics *** these,the Line Emission Mapper(LEM),a large aperture micro-calorimeter based mission,is currently planned to be able to observe the magnetosheath at high spectral resolution(~2 eV).With a field of view of~30′,LEM will allow higher spatial resolution and higher cadence measurement of the motion of a very small portion of the magnetopause over relatively short periods of time(multiple hours),complementing sMILE’s global ***’s strength is its spectral *** will be able to measure the abundance of a broad range of elements and ionization states,many of which are inaccessible to current in situ instruments,and will be able to separate the emission from the magnetosheath from the emission from the cosmic X-ray background using the difference in their relative velocities.

The Cahn-Hilliard system was proposed to the first time by Chan and Hilliard in *** model(or system of equations)has intrinsic participation energy and materials sciences and depicts significant characteristics of two phase systems relating to the procedures of phase separation when the temperature is *** instance,it can be noticed when a binary alloy(“Aluminum+Zinc”or“Iron+Chromium”)is cooled down *** this case,partially or totally nucleation(nucleation means the appearance of nuclides in the material)is observed:the homogeneous material in the initial state gradually turns into inhomogeneous,giving rise to a very accurate dispersive ***,when the time scale is slower the microstructure becomes *** this work,to the first time,the unified method is presented to investigate some physical interpretations for the solutions of the Cahn-Hilliard system when its coefficients varying with time,and to show how phase separation of one or two components and their concentrations occurs dynamically in the ***,2D and 3D plots are introduced to add more comprehensive study which help to understand the physical phenomena of this *** technique applied in this analysis is powerful and efficient,as evidenced by the computational work and *** technique can also solve a large number of higher-order evolution equations.

Highlighting relationships between sand thicknesses,reservoir-seal pairs and paleobathymetry from a sequence stratigraphic perspective:An example from Tortonian serravallian deposits,onshore Niger Delta Basin

The utilization of sequence stratigraphic concepts in identifying sands and their spatial continuity in distinct gross depositional settings is key,especially in frontier settings where data paucity is a common *** the Baka field,onshore Niger Delta,detailed reservoir correlation guided by sequence stratigraphic framework analysis showed the distribution of sand and shale units constituting reservoirseal pairs(RsP)correlatable across the *** the 3rd-order packages,it is observed that the lowstand systems tract(LsT)and highstand systems tract(HsT)contain more RsPs and thicker 4th-and 5th-order sands than the transgressive systems tract(TsT).In terms of bathymetry,it is noted that irrespective of systems tracts,the RsP Index(RI)decreases from the proximal shallow/inner shelf settings to the more distal outer shelf *** all three systems tracts,intervals interpreted as lowstand prograding complexes contain the best developed sands and highest *** development within the LsTs has been controlled by a pronounced growth fault regime accompanied by high subsidence and sedimentation *** is linked to the basinward migration of the sands during prolonged sea-level fall,creating significant accommodation space for sand *** the other hand,the TsTs known to mark periods of progressive sea-level rise and landward migration of sandy facies,show thinner sands enclosed in much thicker,laterally extensive,and better-preserved deeper marine *** seismic sections indicate intense growth faulting and channelization that influenced the syn-and postdepositional development of the sand packages across the *** initial timing of deformation of subregional faults in this area coincides with periods of abrupt falls in sea *** approach could be useful for predicting sand-prone areas in frontier fields as well as possible reservoir-seal parameters required for some aspects of petroleum system analysis and quick-look volum
