Analysis of bulked segregants to identify molecular markers linked with cocoon weight and cocoon shell weight in the silkworm Bombyx mori L

Two silkworm strains viz, B20 A (high cocoon shell ratio) and *** (low cocoon shell ratio) were sib mated for 10 generations to determine the homozygosis. Both bulked segregant analysis(BSA) and near isogenic lines (NIL) studies were done to identify the RfLP markers closely linked to cocoon shell parameters. Three hundred and fifty two random clones were identified as the low copy number sequence and used for identification of Restriction fragment Length Polymorphic (RfLP) marker linked to cocoon weight and cocoon shell character. In the bulk segregant analysis, DNA from the parents (B20 A, ***), f 1 and f 2 progeny of high shell ratio (HSR) and low shell ratio (LSR) were screened for hybridization with the random clones. Polymorphic banding pattern achieved through southern hybridization with different probes indicated the probable correlation of polymorphism with high and low cocoon shell character which are possible landmarks in identifying the putative marker(s) for the cocoon shell character. Out of the 100 probes tried with parents, f 1, f 2 and their bulks, 10 probes were found to be closely linked to cocoon shell characters.

The injection to emerging adult workerbees with fluvalinate doses ranging from 1 femtomol to 1 nanomol per individual resulted in a reduction of haemolymph carbohydrate concentrations, particularly at the lowest dose 1 hour after injections. At the same time, a large increase was observed for triacylglycerols and to a much lesser extent for steroids and phospholipids with 0.1 picomol per bee. By contrast, fatty acids, steroids and triacylglycerols exhibited a depress at the higher dose. most responses were thus biphasic, showing that much attention should be paid to the effects of very low doses of pesticide.

Spinal cord injury remains a major cause of disability in young adults,and beyond acute decompression and rehabilitation,there are no pharmacological treatments to limit the progression of injury and optimize recovery in this *** the thorough investigation of the complement system in triggering and propagating cerebral neuroinflammation,a similar role for complement in spinal neuroinflammation is a focus of ongoing *** this work,we survey the current literature investigating the role of complement in spinal cord injury including the sources of complement proteins,triggers of complement activation,and role of effector functions in the *** study relevant data demonstrating the different triggers of complement activation after spinal cord injury including direct binding to cellular debris,and or activation via antibody binding to damage-associated molecular *** effector functions of complement have been implicated in spinal cord injury,and we critically evaluate recent studies on the dual role of complement anaphylatoxins in spinal cord injury while emphasizing the lack of pathophysiological understanding of the role of opsonins in spinal cord *** this pathophysiological review,we systematically review the different translational approaches used in preclinical models of spinal cord injury and discuss the challenges for future translation into human *** review emphasizes the need for future studies to dissect the roles of different complement pathways in the pathology of spinal cord injury,to evaluate the phases of involvement of opsonins and anaphylatoxins,and to study the role of complement in white matter degeneration and regeneration using translational strategies to supplement genetic models.

In this paper,we develop the teleportation scheme in[Zheng in Phys Rev A 69,064302,2004],in the sense that,we work in the strong atom-field coupling regime wherein the rotating wave approximation(RWA)is no longer *** achieve the purpose,a scheme consisting of a qubit interacting with a single-mode quantized field is described via the Rabi model(counter rotation terms are taken into account).Our first aim is to teleport an unknown atomic state of a qubit(which interacts with the quantized field in a cavity)to a second qubit(exists in another distant cavity field),beyond the RWA and without the Bell-state measurement *** the continuation,in a similar way,we teleport an unknown state of a single-mode field *** fact,it is shown that,in this regime,after applying some particular conditions,containing the interaction time of atom-field in the cavities,adjusting the involved frequencies,as well as the atom-field coupling in the model,if a proper measurement is performed on the state of the first qubit(the related field in the cavity),the unknown states of the qubit(field)can be teleported from the first qubit(cavity field)to the second qubit(cavity field),*** show that in both considered cases,the teleportation protocol is successfully performed with the maximum possible fidelity,1,and the acceptable success probability,0.25.

The dihydrated potassium yttrium diphosphate, kYP2O7·2H2O, has been synthesized for the first time. Single-crystal XRD study has allowed the determination of its structure and correct formula. It crystallizes in the monoclinic system, space group P21/c, with the cell parameters a = 7.7069（3）, b = 10.5801（4）, c = 10.0204（5）A,β = 93.24（3）A, V= 815.76（6）A^3, Z= 4, mr = 337.98, f（000） = 656, Dc = 2.752 g/cm^3 and/t = 8.073 mm^-1. The single-crystal structure was solved from 1856 unique reflections with the final R = 0.0365 and wR = 0.0772, refined with 119 parameters. The atomic arrangement of kYP2O7·2H2O is built by the P2O7 groups, the YO7 and the kO10 polyhedrons which are connected by corner and edge-sharing to form a three-dimensional framework. Water molecules are directly bonded to the Y and k atoms, and they are located in channels running along the a direction.

The electronic properties（fermi surface,band structure,and density of states（DOS）） of Al-based alloys Alm3（m=Zr and Cu） and AlCu2Zr are investigated using the first-principles pseudopotential plane wave method within the generalized gradient approximation（GGA）.The structural parameters and elastic constants are evaluated and compared with other available ***,the pressure dependences of mechanical properties of the compounds are *** temperature dependence of adiabatic bulk.modulus,Debye temperature,specific heat,thermal expansion coefficient,entropy,and internal energy are all obtained for the first time through quasi-harmonic Debye model with phononic effects for T = 0 k-100 *** parameters of optical properties（dielectric functions,refractive index,extinction coefficient,absorption spectrum,conductivity,energy-loss spectrum,and reflectivity） of the compounds are calculated and discussed for the first *** reflectivities of the materials are quite high in the IR-visible-UV region up to ~ 15 eV,showing that they promise to be good coating materials to avoid solar *** of the properties are also compared with those of the Al-based Ni3 Al compound.

The pressure broadening in the far wings, where the sodium Na(3 p ← 3 s) resonance line is perturbed by ground lithium Li(2 s) atoms, has been theoretically analyzed. The NaLi potential–energy curves and the transition dipole moments are constructed by using a reliable ab initio data points to carry out the reduced-absorption coefficients k_r(ν, T). This quantum-mechanical investigation have demonstrated that the NaLi profile spectra show a satellite future in the red wing at wavelength λ = 685 nm in the temperature range 4000 k–1.8 × 10~4 k. The computation could also exhibit a second satellite, in the blue wing, near the wavelength λ = 574 nm beyond 6000 k and a third peak located at λ = 490 nm which begins to appear at 1.8 × 10~4 k.
