The captivating properties of supercapacitors(SCs) such as high power and reasonably high energy densities made them stand up as a versatile solution to emerging energy storage ***,everyone is in pursuit of improvisation of the energy storage characteristics of *** or manganese oxide(Mn_(3)O_(4)) is a widely studied electrode material considering its fascinating features such as high theoretical capacitance(1370 F/g),variable oxidization states,prominent Jahn-Teller effect,broad potential window,environmentally benign and cost-effectiveness.A lot of research has been carried out on this material to unfold and improve its electrochemical *** this review,comprehensive knowledge and innovative attempts taken to improve its energy storage of Mn_(3)O_(4)material are ***,the basic properties concerned with electrochemical charge storage such as valance states,crystal structure,band diagram and energy storage mechanism are discussed,followed by putting forth the limitations of Mn_(3)O_(4).Later on,various strategies adopted to improve the electrochemical attributes of Mn_(3)O_(4)such as making composite with carbon-based materials,metal-based materials,polymers or doping metal atoms are ***,remarks on key scientific points and perspectives for further development of energy storage in Mn_(3)O_(4)conclude this review.

Interaction of repaglinide with bovine serum albumin:Spectroscopic and molecular docking approaches

Repaglinide (RPG) regulates the amount of glucose by stimulating the pancreas to release insulin in the blood. In view of its biological importance, we have examined the interaction between RPG and a model protein, bovine serum albumin (BSA) employing various spectroscopic, electrochemical and molecular docking methods. Fluorescence spectra of BSA were recorded in the presence and absence of RPG in phosphate buffer of pH 7.4. Fluorescence intensity of BSA was decreased upon the addition of increased concentrations of RPG, indicating the interaction between RPG and BSA. Stern-Volmer quenching analysis results revealed that RPG quenched the intensity of BSA through dynamic quenching mechanism. This was further confirmed from the time-resolved fluorescence measurements. The binding constant as calculated from the spectroscopic and voltammetric results was observed to be in the order of 104M-1 at 298 k, suggesting the moderate binding affinity between RPG and BSA. Competitive experimental results revealed that the primary binding site for RPG on BSA was site II. Absorption and circular dichroism studies indicated the changes in the secondary structure of BSA upon its interaction with RPG. Molecular simulation studies pointed out that RPG was bound to BSA in the hydrophobic pocket of site II.

In pursuit for better antiepileptic drug and the importance of semicarbazones and 2,5-disubstituted 1,3,4-thiadiazoles as anticonvulsant pharmacophore, a series of novel N-（{5-[（6-methyl-l-benzofuran-3-yl）methyl]-l,3,4-thiadiazol-2-yl}carba- mothioyl）-2/3/4-substitutedbenzamide were designed, synthesized and evaluated for their anticonvulsant activity. The findings of the present studies confirmed that the pharmacophore model with four binding sites is crucial for anticonvulsant activity. Structure-activity relationships among synthesized compounds were also established.

Exploring the potential of porous silicas as a carrier system for dissolution rate enhancement of artemether

Malaria is a parasitic and vector determined blood-conceived infectious disease transmitted through infected mosquitoes. Anti-malarial drug resistance is a major health problem, which hinders the control of malaria. A Results of a survey of drug-resistant malaria demonstrated safe proclivity to nearby all anti-malarial regimes accessible except from artemisinin and its derivatives. Artemether is a BCS class IV drug effective against acute and severe falciparum malaria;hence there is a strong need to improve its solubility. Silica is one of the most widely studied excipients. Silica can be used in solubility enhancement by preparing its solid solution/dispersion with the drug. The objective of this research was to improve dissolution rate of Artemether using non-precipitated porous silica(Aeroperl 300 Pharma) and precipitated silica like EXP. 9555, EXP. 9560, and EXP. 9565. Specific surface area calculated from BET method of porous silicas viz. APL 300(A), Exp. 9555(B), Exp. 9560(C), Exp. 9565(D) was found to be 294.13 m^2/g(A), 256.02 m^2/g(B), 213.62 m^2/g(C) and 207.22 m^2/g(D) *** drug release from the developed formulation was found to be significantly higher as compared to neat ARM. This improved solubility and release kinetics of ARM may be attributed to high surface area, improved wettability and decreased crystallinity. Solid-state characterization of the developed optimized formulation F3 was carried out with respect to FTIR chemical imaging, XRD,SEM, and DSC. All the porous silicas which we have explored in the present context showed a significant capability as a carrier for solubility enhancement of ARM.

The Impingement Heat Transfer Data of Inclined Jet in Cooling Applications: A Review

Proline and Glutamine Improve in vitro Callus Induction and Subsequent Shooting in Rice

This study was conducted to evaluate the effects of proline and glutamine on in vitro callus induction and subsequent regeneration and to develop a reproducible and highly efficient plant regeneration protocol in four rice genotypes, viz. Pawana, Jaya, Indrayani and Ambemohar. Considerable variation in response to plant growth regulators and amino acid supplements used was observed in all the four genotypes. Medium supplemented with proline and glutamine was shown to be superior to medium without proline and glutamine. The best callusing from mature embryo was observed on Murashige and Skoog （MS） medium supplemented with 2.0 mg/L 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid （2,4-D）, 500 mg/L proline and 500 mg/L glutamine. Shoot induction was higher in the callus obtained from medium supplemented with 500 mg/L proline and 500 mg/L glutamine. The highest shoot regeneration frequency （83.2%） was observed on MS medium with 2.0 mg/L benzylaminopurine, 0.5 mg/L 1-naphthaleneacetic acid, 500 mg/L proline, and 500 mg/L glutamine in the callus obtained from MS medium supplemented with 2.0 mg/L 2,4-D, 500 mg/L proline and 500 mg/L glutamine. Among the four genotypes, Pawana has the highest regeneration efficiency （83.2%）, whereas the regeneration efficiency of the rest three rice genotypes was in the range of 32.0% to 72.3%. This optimized regeneration protocol can be efficiently used for Agrobacterium mediated genetic transformation in rice.

Evaluation of intersection conflict warning system at unsignalized intersections:A review

Unsignalized intersections are identified as the critical locations due to higher number of road crashes at these *** primary causes of crashes at unsignalized intersections are limited sight distance,incorrect assessment of gaps by drivers on the minor road,and higher speeds of vehicles on the major *** an effort to improve safety and reduce the severity of crashes at unsignalized intersections,an intelligent transportation system(ITS)called the intersection conflict warning system(ICWS)has been *** ICWS consists of an activated warning sign and sensors that detect vehicles approaching the *** paper aims to summarize the performance evaluation of ICWS that has been published in the *** review commences with an overview of the purpose of designing and installing ICWS at unsignalized *** then discusses driving performance measures considered to evaluate the effectiveness of ICWS in three different environments,i.e.,real world,driving simulator,and simulations,and their results are *** paper also discusses the type of sensors used to detect vehicles approaching the intersection and their accuracy in vehicle *** results reveal that ICWS had substantially improved driver *** the presence of ICWS,drivers resulted in shorter reaction time,lower approach speed,increased critical gap acceptance,and reduction in *** improvement in the performance of ICWS can be achieved by educating drivers about the sign,maintaining system reliability,and further examining the effect of various traffic factors,driver factors,and environmental factors on *** findings of this study can help researchers and engineers to design a better ICWS that can greatly enhance driving performance and safety at unsignalized intersections.

Enhanced Clustering Based OSN Privacy Preservation to Ensure k-Anonymity, t-Closeness, l-Diversity, and Balanced Privacy Utility

Online Social Networks (OSN) sites allow end-users to share agreat deal of information, which may also contain sensitive information,that may be subject to commercial or non-commercial privacy attacks. Asa result, guaranteeing various levels of privacy is critical while publishingdata by OSNs. The clustering-based solutions proved an effective mechanismto achieve the privacy notions in OSNs. But fixed clustering limits theperformance and scalability. Data utility degrades with increased privacy,so balancing the privacy utility trade-off is an open research issue. Theresearch has proposed a novel privacy preservation model using the enhancedclustering mechanism to overcome this issue. The proposed model includesphases like pre-processing, enhanced clustering, and ensuring privacy *** enhanced clustering algorithm is the second phase where authorsmodified the existing fixed k-means clustering using the threshold *** threshold value is determined based on the supplied OSN data of edges,nodes, and user attributes. Clusters are k-anonymized with multiple graphproperties by a novel one-pass algorithm. After achieving the k-anonymityof clusters, optimization was performed to achieve all privacy models, suchas k-anonymity, t-closeness, and l-diversity. The proposed privacy frameworkachieves privacy of all three network components, i.e., link, node, and userattributes, with improved utility. The authors compare the proposed techniqueto underlying methods using OSN Yelp and Facebook datasets. The proposedapproach outperformed the underlying state of art methods for Degree ofAnonymization, computational efficiency, and information loss.

Genetic Algorithm with Variable Length Chromosomes for Network Intrusion Detection

Genetic algorithm(GA) has received significant attention for the design and implementation of intrusion detection systems. In this paper, it is proposed to use variable length chromosomes(VLCs) in a GA-based network intrusion detection *** chromosomes with relevant features are used for rule generation. An effective fitness function is used to define the fitness of each rule. Each chromosome will have one or more rules in it. As each chromosome is a complete solution to the problem, fewer chromosomes are sufficient for effective intrusion detection. This reduces the computational time. The proposed approach is tested using Defense Advanced Research Project Agency(DARPA) 1998 data. The experimental results show that the proposed approach is efficient in network intrusion detection.
