This paper presents an optimization of the voltage doubler stages in an energy conversion module for Radio Frequency (RF) energy harvesting system at 900 MHz band. The function of the energy conversion module is to convert the (RF) signals into direct-current (DC) voltage at the given frequency band to power the low power devices/circuits. The design is based on the Villard voltage doubler circuit. A 7 stage Schottky diode voltage doubler circuit is designed, modeled, simulated, fabricated and tested in this work. Multisim was used for the modeling and simulation work. Simulation and measurement were carried out for various input power levels at the specified frequency band. For an equivalent incident signal of –40 dBm, the circuit can produce 3mV across a 100 k? load. The results also show that there is a multiplication factor of 22 at 0 dBm and produces DC output voltage of 5.0 V in measurement. This voltage can be used to power low power sensors in sensor networks ultimately in place of batteries.

Acid rain (AR) has been reported to induce stress in plants affecting its productivity, growth, flowering and physiology. The molecular changes induced in plants due to the effect of acid rain or acid induced orientation or chloroplast streaming remains largely unknown. Therefore, in the current study we report for the first time the static and permanent changes in the cell of the medicinal plant Bacopa monnieri L. due to sulphur-simulated acid rain (S-SiAR). AR induced effects witnessed by the reduction of the size of starch granules and chloroplast, amount of the granules per unit area, dissolving cell walls, breaking the normal fiber, salt-induced strain in the various components of the cell. Effect of starch granule and chloroplast due to S-SiAR was analyzed using light, confocal and scanning electron microscopic techniques. The elements viz. potassium and magnesium present in the chloroplasts reveal acidic pH due to effect of S-SiAR observed by the ionization of Mg and k (to Mg2+ and k+), in which k+ induced by the effects of S-SiAR revealed a net negative Nernst potential of about -87.55 mV. Calcium is mainly present on the cell walls and responsible for binding of starch granules become ionized to Ca2+ on interacting with AR indicated by the altered Nernst potential of +137.04 mV. A net potential difference may cause the above streaming of chloroplast towards the large starch granules. From this study, we report AR-induced physiological changes in medicinal plant Bacopa monnieri L. for the first time.

Facial asymmetry can be acquired or congenital. Patients with facial asymmetry are not always functionally disturbed by the malfunction but are usually very much disturbed by their external appearance. Depending on the degree of asymmetry and deformation, the surgical procedure may vary in complexity and extent. The extent of surgery can range from a genioplasty procedure to bimaxillary osteotomy, concomitant with augmentation surgery, genioplasty and craniofacial implants along with mandibular distraction. In severe cases, the soft tissue structures on the affected side may constitute an incredible resistance to stretching and can make the surgery considerably more difficult and liable to relapse. Here we represent a case of post ankylotic facial asymmetry with occlusal cant which was treated by bimaxillary distraction osteogenesis. Simultaneous mandibular and maxillary distraction corrected the facial asymmetry without disturbing the pre-existing compensated dental occlusion, and so there was no need for prolonged and difficult orthodontic treatment.

Objective:To explore potential natural products against severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus(SARS-CoV-2)via the study of structural and non-structural proteins of human ***:In this study,we performed an in-silico survey of 25 potential natural compounds acting against *** docking studies were carried out using compounds against 3-chymotrypsin-like protease(3 CL^(PHO)),papain-like protease(PL^(PRO)),RNA-dependent RNA polymerase(RdRp),non-structural protein(nsp),human angiotensin converting enzyme 2 receptor(hACE2 R),sapike glycoprotein(S protein),abelson murine leukemia viral oncogene homolog 1(ABL1),calcineurin-nuclear factor of activated T-cells(NFAT)and transmembrane protease serine ***:Among the screened compounds,amentoflavone showed the best binding affinity with the 3 CL^(PRO),RdRp,nsp13,nsp15,hACE2 R,ABL1 and calcineurin-NFAT;berbamine with hACE2 R and ABL1;cepharanthine with nsp10,nsp14,nsp16,S protein and ABL1;glucogallin with nsp15;and papyriflavonol A with PL^(PRO)*** good interacting compounds were juglanin,betulinic acid,betulonic acid,broussooflavan A,tomentin A,B and E,7-methoxycryptopleurine,aloe emodin,quercetin,tanshinone I,tylophorine and furruginol,which also showed excellent binding affinity towards a number of target *** of these compounds showed better binding affinities towards the target proteins than the standard drugs used in this ***:Natural products or their derivatives may be one of the potential targets to fight against SARS-CoV-2.

Health-Benefit Assets of Different Indian Processed Teas: A Comparative Approach

A comparative deliberation has been considered among three Indian processed teas (black, green and white) in respect to their prevalence of some secondary metabolites, antioxidant ability (ABTS and DPPH assay), nutritional properties, inorganic elemental profile and bactericidal efficiency. Green and white tea, incidence of total phenol, total flavonoids, proanthocyanidins and tannin are higher than the black. ABTS and DPPH study reveals lower IC50 occurred in Green tea. Green tea is enriched in Na, Fe, Mg, and Mn content;black is rich in k, Ca and white has highest Zn. Total sugar and free amino acid are highest in white tea;total protein content is almost same in all three types. Green tea is enriched with vitamin C. Antimicrobial asset is experienced against Bacillus subtilis, Staphylococcus aureus (gram + ve) and Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa (gram?-?ve) bacteria. Study revealed that green tea has higher antimicrobial activity than the other two, though higher inhibitory effect of black tea might be attributed to the presence of substantial amount of tannin. Statistical evaluation reflects that in all organic and aqueous extracts, secondary metabolites correlate linearly with DPPH and ABTS assays but are not consistent with bactericidal efficiency in all cases.

Microwave Preparation of SiO2-B2O3-Na2O-k2O-CaO-Fe2O3-TiO2 Glass System

This study reports preparation of glass composition （54.50 wt.%） SiO2, （10.80 wt.%） B2O3, （14.20 wt.%） Na2O, （1.20 wt.%） k2O, （6.00 wt.%） CaO, （4.00 wt.%） Fe2O3 and （9.30 wt.%） TiO2 by melt quenching method using direct microwave heating and conventional resistive heating. Study of dielectric loss factor of the glass as function of temperature illustrated increasing loss factor above 370 ℃, 550 ℃, 650 ℃ and 900 ℃, indicating enhanced microwave absorption by the glass at above these temperatures. Chemical analysis results of both the glasses depicted more volatilization loss of volatile ingredients in conventional heating. The study of chemical durability was performed from leachate analysis describing less leaching of Na2O, k2O and other constituents from glass melted in microwave furnace. Glass transition temperatures （Tg） were found to be 576.3 ℃ and 569.5 ℃ for glass melted in conventional and microwave heating route, respectively. Laboratory experiment of glass melting utilizing microwave energy as an alternate heating source demonstrated 70%-75% electrical power saving.

We report here the application of a medicinally important plant Amaranthus spinosus for the synthesis of gold nanoparticles (AuNPs). Different concentrations of ethanolic leaf extract of the plant were reacted with aqueous solution of HAuCl4·4H2O under mild reaction conditions. Synthesis of AuNPs was confirmed from the UV-Vis study of surface plasmon resonance property of the colloidal solution. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) revealed particles as spherical and triangular in shape. X-ray diffraction (XRD) confirmed the crystalline nature of AuNPs with average size of 10.74 nm as determined by Debye-Scherrer’s Equation. Fourier transform infra-red (FT-IR) analysis of leaf extract and lyophilized AuNPs showed the presence of various functional groups present in diverse phytochemicals. Energy dispersive X-ray (EDX) of purified AuNPs confirmed the formation of AuNPs and surface adsorption of biomolecules. We further investigated the toxicity of the synthesized AuNPs and found non toxic to the cancer cell lines and could be used for biomedical applications.

Rice Husk Ash (RHA) Concrete is an eco friendly concrete and has evolved as an innovative technology, capable of achieving the status of being an outstanding advancement in the sphere of concrete technology. The utilization of Rice Husk Ash (RHA) will reduce the dumping of rice husk as well as reduce the construction cost. In this communication investigations for the determination of residual compressive strength of M30 & 40 grades of RHA concretes exposed at different temperatures were carried. Almost all specimens of M30 & 40 grades of RHA concrete and normal concrete exhibited zero strength at a temperature of 1000°C. It shows that concrete cannot withstand a temperature of 1000°C and above. It was also concluded that compressive strength of RHA concrete was higher at °emperature below 500°C and decreases above 500°C.
