The effect of gamma ray energies and volume ratio of micro steel fiber(1 and 1.5%) on attenuation properties of reactive powder concrete(70 MPa compressive strength) was investigated. Different characteristics have been considered such as linear attenuation coefficient,mass attenuation coefficient, and half-value *** iodide crystal with a gamma ray spectrometer and collimated beam of gamma ray has been implemented to perform the experimental test. Three sources(Cs-137, Co-60, and Bi-207) with energies of(0.662, 1.17 1.33, 0.569,and 1.063) MeV were adopted in the test. The results obtained indicated that mass attenuation coefficient is proportioned inversely with gamma ray energies and directly with a volume ratio of micro steel fiber. The linear attenuation coefficient and half-value thickness of the tested samples have been calculated and discussed. The obtained results showed that increasing the volume ratio of steel fiber has modified the adequacy of the reactive powder concrete as a shielding element since it increases the density and reduces the half-value thickness.

将虚拟对象加载到反映现实环境的AR视图中并不是一件非常困难的事情。但是如何使AR视图中的虚拟物体表面看起来更真实则需要更多的努力。比如,虚拟纹理应该看起来完全与真实物体贴合,需要更准确地跟踪目标物体。同时,加载的虚拟材质应真实反映它们所在的实际环境的光照和阴影条件。在本文中,我们介绍了一种改进的方法,用于增强现实应用中环境照明的实时光估计,跟踪物理对象的运动,并使相应的虚拟对象反映实际环境的光照和阴影。首先,我们提出了一种估计AR场景中光线的有效方法,方法是在不同场景上从RGB-D图像的输入中训练一次深度神经网络,以确定最亮光线的方向。该研究依赖于通过独立于相机位置的神经网络估计光源,然后在光估计过程之后计算到真实世界空间的变换。这个问题是通过计算在坐标空间中与相机位置对齐的最亮光源来解决的。因此,最亮光的方向是通过坐标系中的相对角度来模拟的。为了使光照估计不受相机位置的影响,这些角度是从相机的坐标空间中计算出来的。最亮光方向的坐标表示被转换为向量,用于在AR系统中进行渲染。由于训练和测试用例中真实数据的在手机上的性能不够理想,所提出的神经网络仅在合成数据上进行训练。其次,我们尝试了不同的方法来检测和跟踪不同类型的真实物体(平面、简单几何图形和复杂几何图形),以在这些表面上可视化虚拟材料,其中虚拟材料采用我们提出的光估计方法来获取真实位置的条件照明、反射和阴影。我们的光估计方法通过对三种真实物体的实验进行了测试。结果表明,与其他工作相比,我们的方法在检测精度、跟踪精度、材料的真实可视化、匹配真实阴影和光照条件方面取得了比较好的效果。

Antioxidant and antihyperlipidemic activity of Costus speciosus against atherogenic diet-induced hyperlipidemia in rabbits

Objective: An extract of Costus speciosus(CSE), a herb widely used in folk medicine, was evaluated for its antioxidant, antihyperlipidemic and ameliorating effects on histopathological changes in atherogenic ***: Twenty-four male rabbits(Oryctolagus cuniculus) were divided into 4 groups. Three groups were fed a diet containing 3% saturated fat and 1.3% cholesterol for 40 d. One of these was sacrificed on the 40 th day and was called the pathogenic(P) group; the other two groups received treatment for another 30 d as follows: one received 0.8 g/(kgád) of CSE and the other was given 0.01 g/(kgád) of simvastatin. The normal group was sacrificed on the 70 th day and used as a ***: CSE showed radical-scavenging ability. Administration of CSE for a 30-day period resulted in a significant decrease in total cholesterol, triacylglycerol, low-density lipoprotein and aspartate aminotransferase compared to the P group, while levels of hemoglobin, packed corpuscular volume and red blood cells were elevated. With respect to studies performed on the heart, a decrease in malondialdehyde and an increase in reduced glutathione were noted. Total protein increased in the liver, heart and aorta after treatment with CSE and also a marked improvement in histopathological parameters was ***: The present findings indicate that the C. speciosus rhizome possesses antiatherogenic and antioxidant properties which may provide protective effects against oxidative stress in atherosclerotic rabbits.

In this study, the fabrication and characterization of capacitive humidity sensors using cobalt-phthalocyanine （CoPc） as the active material were presented. Thin films of CoPc were deposited by drop casting on glass substrates with pre-deposited aluminum electrodes to form A1/CoPc/A1 surface-type humidity sensors. The effect of humidity on the electrical properties of the CoPc film was investigated by measuring capacitance and resistance of the samples at four different frequencies of the applied voltage. It was observed that the capacitance of the sensor increased while the resistance decreased with raising the relative humidity. It was also found that the values of capacitance and resistance decreased with increasing frequency. The optical absorption spectra and optical band gap energy of CoPc films were measured. The structure of CoPc powder and thin films has been studied by X-ray diffraction （XRD）, scanning electron microscopy （SEM）, and atomic force microscopy （AFM）. Results of XRD studies show that the film structure is polycrystalline with the monoclinic structure while thin films have a peak for annealing temperatures with （100） orientation. Also, the surface morphology （grain size and roughness） for CoPc films have been studied by AFM.

Objective: To determine if there is any significant association between stroke and both hypoalbuminema and hypoproteinemia. Patients and Methods: Total serum proteins “T.S.P.” and serum albumin were measured for 65 patients with stroke who were admitted to the medical and neurological wards at Baghdad Teaching Hospital in the Medical City from November 2003 to October 2004. Careful history was obtained and proper clinical examinations were done. Serum albumin, T.S.P., blood sugar, renal function, liver function and general urine examination “G.U.E.” were tested within 48 - 72 hours of the start of patient symptoms. These patients with hepatic and renal dysfunction and those with diabetes mellitus were excluded. The results were compared with the results obtained from control group, which consisted of 40 persons of matched age and sex. By application pf chi square test “X” to see the association of serum albumin with cigarette smoking, age, hypertension and the presence of carotid bruit. Results: The mean serum level of T.S.P. and serum albumin of those with stroke was 6.42 ± 0.322 g/dl, 3.26 ± 0.251 g/dl respectively, which was significantly lower than T.S.P. and serum albumin of the control “mean = 7.8 ± 0.257 g/dl, 4.73 ± 0.206 g/dl respectively” [P X2 = 25.14, P X2 = 15.57, P Conclusion: Hypoalbuminemia and hypoproteinemia are significantly associated with stroke.

Identification of Dust Sources in Iraq Using Meteorological Surface Data and Satellite Data

The research included employment of the meteorological surface data such as surface pressure and wind speed and direction to determine the sources of dust in Iraq through the study and analysis of dust phenomena that strike Iraq in 2011 and at different times of the year. The results showed that Iraq was suffering to No. （18） dust storms in 2011. The highest wind speed recorded at the beginning of the composition of most the dust storms ranged of 6-10 m/s and the lowest wind speed values ranged of 10-14 m/s, while the direction of the wind in No. （14） dust storms were flowed from NW （northwest）, only No. （4） dust storms were flowed from southwest SW （southwest）, due to the fact that the prevailing wind in Iraq is NW in most days of the year. Atmospheric pressure values recorded for the day of dust storms are ranged of 960-990 millibar, due to the existence Iraq under high pressure system most days of the year. Satellite data of Meteosat 9 are used to determine the sources of dust over Iraq. Used the Cloud-Aerosol Lidar and Infrared Pathfinder Satellite Observations CALIPSO data to determine the vertical section of the dust, during a dust storm.

The suffering of the African-Americans has not ended by slavery abolition;instead it has converted to a new version of injustice which is the racial discrimination. The internalization of racial discrimination is not only conducted by the white supremacy, but also by some African-Americans as they conform to the dominant group’s principles. The argument aims to explore how the black people are influenced by the dominant power’s ideology, and to discover how the conversion of hatred turns against the black people rather than against the whites. The argument also aims to analyze the problems and issues resulting from racial discrimination, and to find out how these issues affect black people socially and psychologically through Toni Morrison’s The Bluest Eye and *** theories that support the present thesis are a combination of critical race theory, black feminism, and psycho-analysis within the frame of postcolonial studies to conduct the analysis of Morrison’s two novels. As racism is spread in the fabric and system of the American society, the paper aims through the critical race theory to identify the power structures that are based on white supremacy and white privilege, which maintains and perpetuates the subordination and marginalization of black people. Through Black feminism the paper targets the process of understanding the experience of being a black woman. This process cannot be conducted in terms of being a black or being a woman. Although each concept is considered independently, the interactions which reinforce each other must be included. Morrison is concerned with the fate of black people in her novels, especially the humiliated and oppressed black women like Pecola Breedlove who is oppressed by her family and her community. The potential of Garcinia mangostana as a biological control agent against plant pathogenic bacteria which decrease the quality and volume of crop production worldwide was assessed. Mangosteen leaves were extracted by maceration using chloroform, n-hexane, and methanol. For the in vitro antibacterial activity, two dissimilar species of plant pathogenic bacteria: Pseudomonas syringe pv. tomato and Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae were acquired. Four different concentrations, 12.5, 25, 50, and 100 mg/ml were obtained through the cup-plate agar diffusion technique. Streptomycin sulphate at 30 μg/ml concentration was set as the positive control, whereas every respective solvent used in the leaf extraction was set as the negative control. The results have shown that, only methanol extract demonstrated antibacterial activity when tested on the plant pathogenic bacteria. The highest diameter of inhibition zones was observed in X. oryzae pv. oryzae, at all range of concentrations, followed by P. syringae pv. tomato. The least methanol extract concentration utilised in determination of minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) assay was at 1.562 mg/ml, inhibiting X. oryzae pv. oryzae, followed by P. syringe pv. tomato at a concentration 3.125 mg/ml. Antibacterial impacts of the most effectual extract of mangosteen crude were supported by the existence of chemical components identified by GC-MS. Cycloartenol, Caryophyllene, Docosane, Phenol, 4,4-Methylenebis (2,6-di-tert-butylphenol) and Chromium were noted as key compounds in the mangosteen leaf extract, which were perhaps causing the antibacterial activity.

Vibrio cholera, causing acute watery diarrhea known as cholera disease, affects all ages and both genders. Cholera infection outbreaks in Iraq have been reported for several years. The recent cholera outbreak, emerged throughout 2015, was investigated using bacteriological laboratory tests, singleplex and multiplex PCR technique for the detection of V. cholera from stool samples. Furthermore the toxigenic potential coupled with the antibiotic susceptibility test for cholera and other bacteria were also investigated. The stool samples were collected from 5698 patients admitted to Al-Yarmouk Teaching hospital and health care centers in Baghdad/Al-karkh, Iraq, from the 1st of August to the 30th of December 2015. The V. cholera was isolated from 194 cases (3.4% of the cases age between 21 - 50 years). In addition, other enteric infections: Salmonellosis and Shigellosis 7 and 21 respectively, protozoan parasite Giardia lamblia and Entamoeba histolytica 2 and 43 cases respectively were also reported. High percentage of V. cholera infection was detected in October (122 cases, 62.8%), compared with other enteric infections that show high percentage of diarrheal disease in September and November. The results have confirmed that the cholera outbreak was caused by V. cholera O1, biotype El Tor, and serotype Inaba. Seven virulence genes were identified ctxA, toxR, zot, ace, rfbO1, tcpA and ompW. Moreover, the cholera isolated strains were found sensitive to most antibiotic but resistant to nalidixic acid.

Obese Nulliparous Women and the Risk for Maternal and Fetal Complications

Obesity is becoming a global health care problem and an increasing number of obese female patients are getting pregnant. Aim of our study was to know the prevalence of obesity in nulliparous women and its impact on pregnancy as well as fetus. Patients and Methods: All nulliparous women with single pregnancy and gestational age of 37 weeks and above were included in the study. Primigradvida with multiple pregnancies, fetal abnormalities, and gestational age less than 37 weeks were excluded. Patients were divided into normal, overweight and obese group according to their prepragnancy body mass index (BMI). Results: Total 2243 nulliparous women were included in the study, majority (56.8%) of patients were in the normal BMI group and only 24.8% were obese. But a significantly higher number of obese nulliparous women were in the age group of 18 to 29 years (P k of developing gestational diabetes and pregnancy induced hypertension. In these patients the prevalence of assisted vaginal and cesarean deliveries is significantly high.
