A 3rd generation roof bolter canopy air curtain(CAC)has been developed and constructed by ***&Co.,*** with the previous generation of the CAC,this design uses the principle of providing uniform airflow across the canopy area as recommended by the National Institute for Occupational safety and *** new modifications include a plenum that is constructed of a single flat aluminum plate,smaller-diameter airflow openings,and a single row of perimeter nozzles designed to prevent mine air contaminated by respirable dust from entering the CAC protection *** testing was conducted on this new 3rd generation design showing reductions in coal mine respirable dust exposure for roof bolter *** control efficiencies for the CAC for the left bolter operator(intake side)ranged from approximately 26%–60%,while the efficiencies for the CAC for the right bolter operator(return side)ranged from 3%to 47%.

This article reviews recent advances in the utilization of various water based synthesis routes towards the shape-controlled synthesis of silver nanoparticles and microstructures in a diverse range of shapes and sizes from several nanometers to micrometers. A variety of very simple one-pot methods, at times employing com- mercial microwave ovens, inexpensive low power ultrasound cleaners, or two-electrode electro-chemistry, can be surprisingly effective in the controlled synthesis of a wide range of nanostructured products, if only parameters are carefully chosen. Many approaches which are adopted include synthesis of Ag nanostructures with various shapes in solution, doping of Ag nanoparticles on unmodified silica and on/inside carbon spheres, kinetically controlled growth of Ag micro-particles with novel nanostructures on flat substrates, and galvanic replace- ment towards bimetallic Ag-Au dendrites and carbon composites. Characterizations of shape, composition and microstructure are carried out via scanning and transmission electron microscopy, various spectroscopy methods, N2 absorption measurements and suchlike. The involved growth mechanisms are investigated in order to discover new means towards better control. size, location and shape control, including micro- and nanostructure features, allows tuning the products properties towards desired applications. We focus on the optical properties and catalytic activities, but also the stability of compounds can be an issue of interest.

solid-state fuel ignition was given by Chu and Bobin according to the hydrodynamic theory at x = 0 qualitatively. A high threshold energy flux density, i.e., E＊ = 4.3 × 10^12 J/m2, has been reached. Recently, fast ignition by employing clean petawatt-picosecond laser pulses was performed. The anomalous phenomena were observed to be based on suppression of prepulses. The accelerated plasma block was used to ignite deuterium tritium fuel at solid-state density. The detailed analysis of the thermonuclear wave propagation was investigated. Also the fusion conditions at x ≠ 0 layers were clarified by exactly solving hydrodynamic equations for plasma block ignition. In this paper, the applied physical mechanisms are determined for nonlinear force laser driven plasma blocks, thermonuclear reaction, heat transfer, electro,ion equilibration, stopping power of alpha particles, bremsstrahlung, expansion, density dependence, and fluid dynamics. New ignition conditions may be obtained by using temperature equations, including the density profile that is obtained by the continuity equation and expansion velocity. The density is only a function of x and independent of time. The ignition energy flux density, Et＊, for the x ≠ 0 layers is 1.95 × 1012 J/m2. Thus threshold ignition energy in comparison with that at x =0 layers would be reduced to less than 50 percent.

2D position sensitive, single-sided si stripixel detector was selected as the one of the two main components of the si vertex tracker (si sVX) in the upgraded PHENIX detector at RHIC (relativistic heavy ion collider) in Brookhaven National laboratory (BNl). This is the first large scale application of the novel si stripixel detector in a real large experiment after many years of research and development at BNl. The first and second prototype fabrication runs of the sVX stripixel detectors were carried out successfully in BNl’s si detector development and processing lab. The processing of these stripixel detectors is similar to that for the standard single-sided strip detectors: one-sided processing, single implant for the pixel (strip) electrodes, etc. The only additional processing step is the double metal process, a technology that is simple and well matured by many si detector processing industries and labs, including BNl. The laser and beam tests on those prototype detectors show the 2D position sensitivity and good position resolution in both X and U coordinates (about 25 μm for 80 μm pitch). For the mass production of 400 sensors needed for the si sVX, the processing technology has been successfully transferred to the industrial: Hamamatsu Photonics (HPk). HPk has produced a pre-production run of stripixel sensors with the full PHENIX sVX specification on 150 mm diameter wafers. The laser tests on these pre-production wafers show good signal to noise ratio (about 20∶1).

Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease or nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFlD) refers to a group of disorders that arise from the accrual of fat in hepatocytes. Although various factors have been associated with the development of NAFlD, including genetic predisposition and environmental exposures, little is known aboutthe underlying pathogenesis of the disease. Research efforts are ongoing to identify biological targets and signaling pathways that mediate NAFlD. Emerging evidence has implicated a role for micro RNAs(mi RNAs), short single-stranded molecules that regulate gene expression either transcriptionally, through targeting of promoter regions, or post-transcriptionally, by blocking translation or promoting cleavage of specific target m RNAs. several mi RNAs have been associated with NAFlD, although our understanding of the biology underlying their role is still emerging. The goal of this review is to present an overview of the current state of knowledge of mi RNAs involved in the development of NAFlD across a range of in vitro and in vivo models, including mi RNAs that contribute to pathological mechanisms related to fatty liver in humans. Much less is known about the specific targets of mi RNAs in cells, nor the molecular mechanisms involved in the development and progression NAFlD and related outcomes. More recently, the identification and validation of mi RNA signatures in serum may facilitate the development of improved methods for diagnosis and clinical monitoring of disease progression.

The Optical Wireless Communication(OWC)offers the high capacity of optical fiber communication with the flexibility of wireless *** it works in the optical region of the ElectroMagnetic(EM)spectrum,it guarantees safety and security which are critical in radio and microwave frequency *** principal objective of this paper is to analyze the indoor OWC systems on these guaranteed features,and safety and security are jointly denoted by the term *** high obstacle impermeability of optical signals and their directivity strengthen the security of indoor OWC data *** confidentiality and authenticity of optical wireless data can also be preserved with the Quantum key Distribution(QkD).This paper provides a technological overview and a review of literature about the OWC system that helps to identify the challenges in the path of a ubiquitous deployment of green wireless communication *** advancements in the sources and detectors are discussed together with the coding,modulation and multiplexing techniques for making highly robust OWC *** ubiquitous deployment of green OWC necessitates the development of optical transmitters and receivers,performance enhancement techniques,incorporation of uplink and energy harvesting abilities,and safety and security enhancement ***,a special emphasis is placed on these aspects and their challenges towards the green ***,the paper explores some significant indoor applications based on the OWC that have great impacts on the Next Generation Networks(NGN)and the Internet of Things(IoT).

Cerium tartrate(CeTar),produced in this study by precipitating cerium nitrate with potassium sodium tartrate(kNaTar),was examined as a corrosion *** loss tests show inhibition efficiency of 71.7% with Ce(NO_(3))_(3) and 88.7% with CeTar inhibitor for one-month exposure to mild steel in 7 g/l NaCl *** inhibition efficiency drops to 28.6% with the fo rmer and remains around 8 7% with the latter inhibitor after six months of *** results from electrochemical testing indicate that the inhibition efficiency decreases by adding cerium ***,the cerium tartrate inhibitor demonstrates a nearly constant inhibition efficiency for up to 30 d,i.e.,≈90%.Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIs) performed in these cases shows the following results:(ⅰ) with cerium nitrate,a film of iron and cerium oxide,which on prolonged exposure diminishes,and(ⅱ) with cerium tartrate,the formation of a bimetallic film(Fe-tartrate-Ce) and a mixture of cerium hydroxide and iro n oxide that protects steel for a longer *** inferences are based on the analyses of scanning electron microscopy/energydispersive X-ray analysis(sEM/EDAX),X-ray diffraction(XRD),Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),X-ray photoelectron(XPs),and Raman spectroscopy results.
