The effect of gamma irradiation with different doses(25–75 kGy) on TiO_2 thin films deposited by atomic layer deposition has been studied and characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD),photoluminescence measurements,ultraviolet–visible(UV–Vis) spectroscopy,and impedance *** XRD results for the TiO_2 films indicate an enhancement of crystallization after irradiation,which can be clearly observed from the increase in the peak intensities upon increasing the gamma irradiation *** UV–Vis spectra demonstrate a decrease in transmittance,and the band gap of the TiO_2 thin films decreases with an increase in the gamma irradiation *** Nyquist plots reveal that the overall charge-transfer resistance increases upon increasing the gamma irradiation *** equivalent circuit,series resistance,contact resistance,and interface capacitance are measured by simulation using Z-view *** present work demonstrates that gamma irradiation-induced defects play a major role in the modification of thestructural,electrical,and optical properties of the TiO_2 thin films.

Transport of contaminants in Miami River(Florida,UsA) sediments with river currents is a concern due to their potential impact in areas that are away from the potential *** profiles of five metals(As,Cd,Hg,Zn,Pb) in the surficial sediments of the Miami River were evaluated in relation to grain size(from less than 0.075 mm to 6.3 mm) and organic *** sediment samples were collected along the river basin as well as in bay *** sediments(s the levels of Cd and Hg and more than 6 times the levels of arsenic in comparison to the sediments that are larger than 0.850 *** and Pb levels were more than 10 times in the fine sediments(son to those that were larger than 4.750 ***,Hg,and Zn levels had significant correlation with the total organic carbon content of the *** indicates that Cd,Hg,and Zn in fine sediments have the potential to be metabolized in addition to potential to be mobilized with river *** of the Gibbs settling velocities of particles showed that particles smaller than0.5 mm can be transported with the river *** levels of heavy metal in fine sediments(showed that fine particles had tendency to be mobilized and accumulate at locations where the rivers currents are low and carried out to the bay.

Oscillating flow around a circular cylinder in the vicinity of a plane wall was investigated by solving the two-dimensional incompressible Navier-stokes equations with a finite element Galarkin residual method. The effect of the gap G/D between the cylinder surface and the wall on the flow behavior was studied. For the case of G/D 〈 0.25, the periodicity in the flow is attributed to both the outer shear layer instability and the oscillating frequency. As G/D 〉 0.25, vortex shedding occurs and the periodicity in the flow is mainly due to the competition of the oscillating frcqucncy and the vortex shedding frequency from an isolated stationary cylinder.

The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change （UNFCCC） requires reporting net carbon stock changes and anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions, including those related to forests. This paper describes the status of carbon stocks in sub tropical forests of Pakistan. There are two major sub types in subtropical forests of Pakistan viz a viz subtropical Chir Pine and subtropical broadleaved forests. A network of sample plots was laid out in four selected site. Two sites were selected from sub tropical Chir Pine （Pinus roxburghii） forests and two from subtropical broadleaved forests. Measurement and data acquisition protocols were developed specifically for the inventory car- ried out from 2005 to 2010. In total 261 plots （each of lha.） were established. Estimation of diameter, basal area, height, volume and biomass was carried out to estimate carbon stocks in each of the four carbon pools of above- and below-ground live biomass. soil carbon stocks were also determined by doing soil sampling. In mature （-100 years old） pine forest stand at Ghoragali and Lehterar sites, a mean basal area of 30.38 and 26.11 ***-1 represented mean volume of 243 and 197 m3·ha-1, respectively. The average biomass （***-1） was 237 in Ghoragali site and 186 tha-1 in Lehterar site, which is equal to 128 and 100 t·ha-1 including soil C. However, on average basis both the forests have 114.5± 2.26 ***-1 of carbon stock which comprises of 92% in tree biomass and only 8% in the top soils. In mixed broadleaved evergreen forests a mean basal area （***-1）was 3.06 at kherimurat with stem volume of 12.86 and 2.65 at sohawa with stem volume of 11.40 ***-1. The average upper and under storey biomass （t·ha-1） was 50.93 in kherimurat site and 40.43 ***-1 in sohawa site, which is equal to 31.18 and 24.36 t ·ha-1 including soil C stocks. This study provides a protocol monitoring biomass and carbon stocks and valuable baseline data for in Pakistan＇s managed and unmanaged sub-tropical forests.

Intrusion detection systems(IDs)are essential in the field of cybersecurity because they protect networks from a wide range of online *** goal of this research is to meet the urgent need for small-footprint,highly-adaptable Network Intrusion Detection systems(NIDs)that can identify *** NsL-kDD dataset is used in the study;it is a sizable collection comprising 43 variables with the label’s“attack”and“level.”It proposes a novel approach to intrusion detection based on the combination of channel attention and convolutional neural networks(CNN).Furthermore,this dataset makes it easier to conduct a thorough assessment of the suggested intrusion detection ***,maintaining operating efficiency while improving detection accuracy is the primary goal of this ***,typical NIDs examines both risky and typical behavior using a variety of *** the NsL-kDD dataset,our CNN-based approach achieves an astounding 99.728%accuracy rate when paired with channel *** to previous approaches such as ensemble learning,CNN,RBM(Boltzmann machine),ANN,hybrid auto-encoders with CNN,MCNN,and ANN,and adaptive algorithms,our solution significantly improves intrusion detection ***,the results highlight the effectiveness of our suggested method in improving intrusion detection precision,signifying a noteworthy advancement in this *** efforts will focus on strengthening and expanding our approach in order to counteract growing cyberthreats and adjust to changing network circumstances.

This study explores the potential of valorizing sewage sludge as a carbon source for the co-production of biochar and carbon nanomaterial via a two-stage thermal-catalytic process. In the first stage, sewage sludge underwent slow pyrolysis, resulting in a biochar yield of 66% (in weight) at 550 degrees C. The resulting pyrolysis vapor was then introduced into a second reactor, where catalytic chemical vapor deposition (CCVD) took place in the presence of a cobalt catalyst, leading to the production of carbon nanotubes (CNTs). It was found that CNTs with an inner diameter of similar to 3.2 nm and an outer diameter of 20-40 nm can be formed in the second stage reactor at temperatures between 650 degrees C and 950 degrees C with a maximum yield of 30% (in weight) under the employed experimental conditions. The obtained CNTs displayed a multiwall structure, exhibited a lack of crystallinity, and demonstrated a high level of disorder. The research findings also indicate that temperature exerts a significant influence on both the yield and properties of the CNTs synthesized.

This study describes improving network security by implementing and assessing an intrusion detection system(IDs)based on deep neural networks(DNNs).The paper investigates contemporary technical ways for enhancing intrusion detection performance,given the vital relevance of safeguarding computer networks against harmful *** DNN-based IDs is trained and validated by the model using the NsL-kDD dataset,a popular benchmark for IDs *** model performs well in both the training and validation stages,with 91.30%training accuracy and 94.38%validation ***,the model shows good learning and generalization capabilities with minor losses of 0.22 in training and 0.1553 in ***,for both macro and micro averages across class 0(normal)and class 1(anomalous)data,the study evaluates the model using a variety of assessment measures,such as accuracy scores,precision,recall,and F1 *** macro-average recall is 0.9422,the macro-average precision is 0.9482,and the accuracy scores are ***,macro-averaged F1 scores of 0.9245 for class 1 and 0.9434 for class 0 demonstrate the model’s ability to precisely identify anomalies *** research also highlights how real-time threat monitoring and enhanced resistance against new online attacks may be achieved byDNN-based intrusion detection systems,which can significantly improve network *** study underscores the critical function ofDNN-based IDs in contemporary cybersecurity procedures by setting the foundation for further developments in this *** research aims to enhance intrusion detection systems by examining cooperative learning techniques and integrating up-to-date threat knowledge.

The aim of this work was to compare the efficacy of a commercially available phytogenic feed additive(PFA) and an antibiotic growth promoter, which was bacitracin methylene disalicylate(BMD), on performance, nutrient retention, caecal colonization of bacteria and humoral immune responses against Newcastle disease in broiler chickens challenged orally with salmonella enteritidis and Escherichia ***-day-old male Cobb 400 broiler chicks(n = 120) were fed with 1) a negative control(NC) diet, which is the basal diet without any added growth promoter, 2) a positive control(PC) diet, the basal diet supplemented with BMD, 500 mg/kg and 3) a diet supplemented with PFA(150 mg/kg) for 39 days and the birds were inoculated with s. enteritidis and E. coli on d 28. supplementation of PFA improved body weight, feed conversion ratio, retention of N and crude fiber, increased fecal moisture content and decreased digesta transit time as compared with the NC and PC groups(P s found to be equally effective in controlling the surge in numbers of salmonella and E. coli following oral inoculation of these bacteria as compared with the NC group(P st inoculation.
