Distribution pattern and conservation of threatened medicinal and aromatic plants of Central Himalaya, India

A study was conducted to examine the distribution pattern of four rhizomatous medicinal and aromatic plant species （MAPs） viz., Angelica glauca, Pleurospermum angelicoides, Rheum emodi and Arne- bia benthamii in different forest stands in Central Himalaya. Results show that A. glauca and P. angelicoides had a higher （50%） frequency at Chipkoan, Garpak and Phagati forest, R. emodi had a higher （60%） frequency at Rishikund, suki and Himtoli, and A. benthamii had a higher （70%） frequency at suki and khambdhar The densities of A. glauca （0.6 plants·m -2 ） and P. angelicoides （0.5 plants·m -2 ） were higher at Chipkoan and Garpak.s.tes than at other micro-sites, while densities of R. emodi （0.8 plants·m -2 ） and A. benthamii （1.0 plants·m -2 ） were higher at suki and khambdhar sites. A. glauca had highest total basal covers （TBC）（1.2 cm 2 ·m -2 ） at Chipkoan, P. angelicoides had highest TBC （0.92 cm 2 ·m -2） at Lati kharak.s.te, A. benthamii had the highest TBC （6.48 cm 2 ·m -2 ） atkhambdhar, and R. emodi had highest TBC （4.53 cm 2 ·m -2 ） at Rishikund. For the four studied species, A. glauca showed a contagious distribution, P. angelicoides and R. emodi showed the random and A. benthamii showed the regular type of distribution.

Enhanced Hybrid Equilibrium strategy in Fog-Cloud Computing Networks with Optimal Task.s.heduling

More devices in the Intelligent Internet of Things(AIoT)result in an increased number of tasks that require low latency and real-time responsiveness,leading to an increased demand for computational *** computing’s low-latency performance issues in AIoT scenarios have led researchers to explore fog computing as a complementary ***,the effective allocation of resources for task execution within fog environments,characterized by limitations and heterogeneity in computational resources,remains a formidable *** tackle this challenge,in this study,we integrate fog computing and cloud *** begin by establishing a fog-cloud environment framework,followed by the formulation of a mathematical model for task ***,we introduce an enhanced hybrid Equilibrium Optimizer(EHEO)tailored for AIoT task *** overarching objective is to decrease both the mak.s.an and energy consumption of the fog-cloud system while accounting for task *** proposed EHEO method undergoes a thorough evaluation against multiple benchmark algorithms,encompassing metrics likemak.s.an,total energy consumption,success rate,and average waiting *** experimental results unequivocally demonstrate the superior performance of EHEO across all assessed ***,in the most favorable conditions,EHEO significantly diminishes both the mak.s.an and energy consumption by approximately 50%and 35.5%,respectively,compared to the secondbest performing approach,which affirms its efficacy in advancing the efficiency of AIoT task.s.heduling within fog-cloud networks.

The sluggish redox reaction kinetics of lithium polysulfides(LiPss)are considered the main obstacle to the commercial application of lithium-sulfur(Li-s)*** accelerate the conversion by catalysis and inhibit the shuttling of soluble LiPss in Li-s batteries,a solution is proposed in this *** solution involves fabrication of N,s co-doped carbon coated In_(2)O_(3)/In_(2)s_(3)heterostructure(In_(2)O_(3)-In_(2)s_(3)@NsC)as a multifunctional host material for the *** In_(2)O_(3)-In_(2)s_(3)@NsC composite can reduce the Gibbs free energy for the conversion reactions of LiPss,which results in superior *** synergy between different components in In_(2)O_(3)-In_(2)s_(3)@NsC and the unique 3D structure facilitate ion and electron transport in Li-s *** In_(2)O_(3)-In_(2)s_(3)@NsC/Li 2 s 6 cathode exhibits excellent rate capacity,with a capacity of 599 mAh g−1 at 5.5 C,and good cycle stability,with a capacity of 436 mAh g^(−1)after 1000 cycles at 1 ***,this study proposes a promising solution to improve the energy storage properties of Li-s batteries,which could potentially facilitate the commercialization of Li-s batteries.

Redefining hemorrhoid therapy with endoscopic polidocanol foam sclerobanding

Hemorrhoids are a common and painful condition,with conventional treatments such as endoscopic rubber band ligation(ERBL)and injection sclerotherapy often falling short due to high recurrence rates and significant post-operative pain.A clinical trial by Qu et al introduces a novel approach called endoscopic polidocanol foam sclerobanding(EFsB).This multicenter randomized trial involved 195 patients with grade II and III internal hemorrhoids and demonstrated that EFsB significantly reduced recurrence rates and post-procedural pain while improving symptom relief and patient satisfaction compared to *** study's strengths include its robust design,comprehensive outcome evaluation,and patient-centered *** limitations such as the single-blind design and relatively short follow-up period,the findings suggest that EFsB could enhance clinical practice by offering a more effective and patient-friendly treatment *** research is needed to validate these results and explore the long-term benefits and cost-effectiveness of EFsB.

The 2.5 m wide-field and high-resolution solar telescope(WeHosT)is currently under developing for solar *** aims to achieve high-resolution observations over a super-wide field of view(FOV)of5′×5′,and a desired resolution of 0.3″.To meet the scientific requirements of WeHosT,the ground-layer adaptive optics(GLAO)with a specially designed wave front sensing system is as the primary *** introduce the GLAO configuration,particularly the wave front sensing *** analytic method,we simulate the performance of both classical AO and GLAO systems,optimize the wave front sensing system,and evaluate GLAO performance in terms of PsF uniformity and correction improvement across whole *** results indicate that,the classical AO will achieve diffraction-limited resolution;the suggested GLAO configuration will uniformly improve the seeing across the full 5′×5′FOV,reducing the FWHM across the axis FOV to less than0.3″(λ≥705 nm,r0≥11 cm),which is more than two times *** specially designed wave front sensor schedule offers new potential for WeHosT’s GLAO,particularly the multi-FOV GLAO and the flexibility to select the detected *** capabilities will significantly enhance the scientific output of the telescope.

simulation study on Constraining Gravitational Wave Propagation speed by Gravitational Wave and Gamma-ray Burst Joint Observation on Binary Neutron star Mergers

Theories of modified gravity suggest that the propagation speed of gravitational waves(GW)v_gmay deviate from the speed of light c.A constraint can be placed on the difference between c and v_gwith a simple method that uses the arrival time delay between GW and electromagnetic wave simultaneously emitted from a burst *** simulated the joint observation of GW and short gamma-ray burst signals from binary neutron star merger events in different observation campaigns,involving advanced LIGO(aLIGO)in design sensitivity and Einstein Telescope(ET)joint-detected with Fermi/*** a result,the relative precision of constraint on v_gcan reach~10~(-17)(aLIGO)and~10^(-18)(ET),which are one and two orders of magnitude better than that from GW170817,*** continue to obtain the bound of graviton mass m_g≤7.1(3.2)×10~(-20)eV with aLIGO(ET).Applying the standard-Model Extension test framework,the constraint on v_gallows us to study the Lorentz violation in the nondispersive,nonbirefringent limit of the gravitational *** obtain the constraints of the dimensionless isotropic coefficients s_(00)^(4)at mass dimension d=4,which are-1×10^(-15)s_(00)^(4)s_(00)^(4<8<10^(-18))for ET.

Representing the next-generation technology in lithium-ion batteries,lithium-sulfur(Li-s)batteries offer increased specific energy without relying on scarce metals like nickel and cobalt,but suffer from a low practical specific energy due to poor conductivity and a short lifespan due to the shuttle effect of *** the confinement of polysulfides and the transport of lithium ions requires highly elaborate modifiers for *** multi-shelled structures(HoMss)show promise as hierarchical mesostructures for separators,offering multiple shell layers and internal cavities that effectively inhibit polysulfide *** design of these structures is crucial to address these challenges *** this study,nitrogen-doped carbon HoMs(NC HoMs)was created using polymer templates through a precisely controlled polymerization *** featuring NC HoMs-modified separators exhibit improved capacity and cycling stability in comparison to those utilizing commercial ***,triple-shelled NC HoMs strik.s.a balance in polysulfide containment and lithium ion *** a sulfur loading of 6.34 mg/cm^(2),the Li-s battery can consistently complete 100 charge-discharge cycles,starting with a discharge capacity of 966.4 mA·h/g with a 75.8%capacity retention *** HoMs holds potential as the separator modifier in addressing the polysulfide shuttle problem and facilitating the Li-ion transportation for advanced Li-s batteries.

The representation of the Arctic stratospheric circulation and the quasi-biennial oscillation(QBO)during the period 1981–2019 in a 40-yr Chinese global reanalysis dataset(CRA-40)is evaluated by comparing two widely used reanalysis datasets,ERA-5 and ***-40 demonstrates a comparable performance with ERA-5 and MERRA-2 in characterizing the winter and spring circulation in the lower and middle Arctic ***,differences in the climatological polar-mean temperature and polar night jet among the three reanalyses are within±0.5 k and±0.5 m s^(–1),*** onset dates of the stratospheric sudden warming and stratospheric final warming events at 10 hPa in CRA-40,together with the dynamics and circulation anomalies during the onset process of warming events,are nearly identical to the other two reanalyses with slight *** contrast,the CRA-40 dataset demonstrates a deteriorated performance in describing the QBO below 10 hPa compared to the other two reanalysis products,manifested by the larger easterly biases of the QBO index,the remarkably weaker amplitude of the QBO,and the weaker wavelet power of the QBO *** pronounced biases are mainly concentrated in the period 1981–98 and largely reduced by at least 39%in 1999–***,particular caution is needed in studying the QBO based on *** three reanalyses exhibit greater disagreement in the upper stratosphere compared to the lower and middle stratosphere for both the polar region and the tropics.
