Competition among the two-plasmon decay(TPD)of backscattered light of stimulated Raman scattering(SRS),filamentation of the electron-plasma wave(EPW)and forward side SRS is investigated by two-dimensional particlein-cell *** previous work[*** et al.,*** 58,096035(2018)]showed that in a plasma with the density near 1/10 of the critical density,the backscattered light would excite the TPD,which results in suppression of the backward ***,this work further shows that when the laser intensity is so high(>10^(16)W/cm^(2))that the backward SRS cannot be totally suppressed,filamentation of the EPW and forward side SRS will be *** the TPD of the backscattered light only occurs in the early stage and is suppressed in the latter *** distribution functions further show that trapped-particle-modulation instability should be responsible for filamentation of the *** research can promote the understanding of hot-electron generation and SRS saturation in inertial confinement fusion experiments.

Laser interaction with an ultra-thin pre-structured target is investigated with the help of both two-dimensional and threedimensional particle-in-cell *** the existence of aperiodic structure on the target surface,the laser seems to penetrate through the target at its fundamental frequency even if the plasma density of the target is much higher than the laser’s relativistically critical *** particle-in-cell simulations show that the transmitted laser energy behind the pre-structured target is increased by about two orders of magnitude compared to that behind the flat *** analyses show that the transmitted energy behind the pre-structured target is actually re-emitted by electron’islands’ formed by the surface plasma waves on the target *** other words,the radiation with the fundamental frequency is actually’surface emission,on the target rear *** the intensity of the component with the fundamental frequency,the intensity of the high-order harmonics behind the pre-structured target is also much enhanced compared to that behind the flat *** enhancement of the high-order harmonics is also related to the surface plasma waves generated on the target surfaces.

A nonlinear visual mapping model is presented to replace the image Jacobian relation for uncalibrated hand/eye coordination. A new visual tracking controller based on artificial neural network is designed. Simulation results show that this method can drive the static tracking error to zero quickly and keep good robustness and adaptability at the same time. In addition, the algorithm is very easy to be implemented with low computational complexity.

This paper proposes an analytical model for predicting the maximum vibration reduction level in a four-phase 8/6 switched reluctance machine(SRM) by employing active vibration cancellation(AVC),one of the most effective and convenient methods for reducing the vibration and acoustic noise produced by *** on the proposed method,the factors that influence the vibration reduction level are analyzed in *** relationships between vibration and noise reduction levels at resonance frequency and rotor speed are ***,it is shown that a large damping factor will lead to smaller vibration reduction level with AVC while,in contrast,a large resonance frequency will increase the vibration reduction *** finite element analyses and experiments were carried out on a prototype 8/6 SRM to validate the proposed method.

In this paper, a modification of the bisection simplex method([7]) is made for more general purpose use. Organized in an alternative simpler form, the modified version exploits information of the optimal value, as does the original bisection method, but no bracket on the optimal value is needed as part of input; in stead, it only requires provision of an estimate b(0) of the optimal value and an estimate of the error bound of b(0) (it is not sensitive to these values though). Moreover, a new, ratio-test-free pivoting rule is proposed, significantly reducing computational cost at each iteration. Our numerical experiments show that the method is very promising, at least for solving linear programming problems of such sizes as those tested.

SiC nanowires and SiC/SiO2 core-shell structural nanowires were synthesized via a simple thermal evaporation of CoxSiy melts at the temperature of 1500?C. The morphologies and yields of those SiC nanowires can be tuned by altering the composition of CoxSiy. Nanowires obtained by thermal evaporation of Co Si are composed of SiC/SiO2 core-shell nanostructures with lengths up to several hundreds of micrometers, diameters of 4050 nm, and the thickness of amorphous SiO2 wrapping shell about 20 nm. SiC nanowires prepared by thermal evaporation of Co Si2 and Co2 Si melt are found to be hexagonal-prism-shaped nanorods, and the diameter of those nanorods is about 150 nm and the length is about 10 microns. All the SiC nanowires obtained possess [111] preferred growth direction with a high density stacking faults and twin defects. Taking into consideration the binary alloy diagram of Co Si and the participation of oxygen, we propose the vapor-solid growth mechanism of SiC nanowires and discuss the effect of the supersaturation of Si O on the morphology and yields of SiC nanowires.
