In total hip arthroplasty, judgment of the appropriateness of stem hammering is dependent on the experience and feelings of the surgeon and no objective evaluation method has been established. In this study, a frequency analysis of the hammering sounds in total hip arthroplasty was performed to investigate objective judgment criteria capable of preventing problems during surgery. Stem hammering was applied following the surgeon’s feelings as usual in an operating room. A directional microphone was placed at a distance about 2 m from the surgical field and the peak.frequency reaching the maximum amplitude was determined by Fourier analysis. It was clarified that the same peak.frequency repeats when appropriate fixation is acquired during surgery, suggesting that intraoperative fracture and postoperative loosening can be prevented by stopping hammering at the time the peak.frequency converged. Investigation of changes in the hammering sound frequency may serve as objective judgment criteria capable of preventing problems during surgery.

In this study,we explored the deformation mechanisms of Mg single crystals using a combination of scanning electron microscopy and electron back.cattered diffraction in conjunction with a dedicated four-point bending *** prepared two single-crystal samples,oriented along theanddirections,to assess the mechanisms of deformation when the initial basal slip was *** thesample,the primary{1012}twin(T1)was confirmed along thedirection of the sample on the compression side with an increase in bending *** thesample,T1 and the secondary twin(T2)were confirmed to be along thedirection,with an orientation of±60°with respect to the bending stress direction,and their direction matched with(0001)in T1 and *** result implies that crystallographically,the basal slip occurs *** addition,thesample showed the double twin in T1 on the compression side and the tertiary twin along thedirection on the tension *** results demonstrated that the maximum bending stress and displacement changed significantly under the bend loading because the deformation mechanisms were different for these single ***,the correlation between bending behavior and twin orientation was determined,which would be helpful for optimizing the bending properties of Mg-based materials.

Increasing the yield is one of the most important goals of crop *** the beginning of rice cultivation thousands of years ago,many efforts have been made to increase rice *** of the successes in this history was the Green *** tremendous improvement in the 1960s was achieved by increasing rice and wheat production through the development and widespread adoption of semi-dwarf varieties with the extensive use of fertilizers(Hedden,2003).Dwarfism in crops lowers the center of gravity of the plant body,reducing the risk.of lodging and enabling farmers to use more fertilizer to increase ***-dwarf mutations in both rice and wheat created during the Green Revolution are related to the plant growth hormone gibberellin(GA).Although other mechanisms cause dwarf mutants,only GA-related semi-dwarf mutants were selected during the Green Revolution(Wang et al.,2021).While GA-related abnormalities only mak. plants shorter,most cases caused by other mechanisms involve not only dwarfism but also other morphological abnormalities.

The pinning of quantized magnetic vortices in superconducting YBa_(2)Cu_(3)O_(7-δ)(YBCO or Y123)thin films with Y_(2)BaCuO_(5)(Y211)nanoinclusions have been investigated over wide temperature range(4.2-77 k..The concentration of Y211 nanoinclusions has been systematically varied inside YBCO thin films prepared by laser ablation technique using surface modified target *** pinning force density values(Fp∼0.5 TNm^(−3)at 4.2 k.9 T)have been observed for the YBCO film with moderate concentration of Y211 nanoinclusions(3.6 area%on ablation target).In addition,uniform enhancement in critical current density(J_(c))was observed in the angular dependent J_(c)measurement of YBCO+Y211 nanocomposite films.Y211 nanoinclusions have been found to be very efficient in pinning the quantized vortices thereby enhancing the in‐field J_(c)values over a wide range of *** the concentration of Y211 secondary phase into Y123 film matrix results into agglomeration of Y211 phase and observed as increased Y211 nanoparticle *** larger secondary phase nanoparticles are not as efficient pinning centers at lower temperatures as they are at higher temperatures due to substantial reduction of the coherence length at lower *** of the temperature dependence of J_(c)for YBCO+Y211 nanocomposite films has been conducted and possible vortex pinning mechanism in these nanocomposite films has been discussed.

This study presents a numerical analysis of three-dimensional steady laminar flow in a rectangular channel with a 180-degree sharp turn. The Navier-Stok.s equations are solved by using finite difference method for Re = 900. Three-dimensional streamlines and limiting streamlines on wall surface are used to analyze the three-dimensional flow characteristics. Topological theory is applied to limiting streamlines on inner walls of the channel and two-dimensional streamlines at several cross sections. It is also shown that the flow impinges on the end wall of turn and the secondary flow is induced by the curvature in the sharp turn.

The journey to implement cancer genomic medicine(CGM)in oncology practice began in the 1980s,which is considered the dawn of genetic and genomic cancer *** the time,a variety of activating oncogenic alterations and their functional significance were unveiled in cancer cells,which led to the development of molecular targeted therapies in the 2000s and *** CGM is still a relatively new discipline and it is difficult to predict to what extent CGM will benefit the diverse pool of cancer patients,the National Cancer Center(NCC)of Japan has already contributed considerably to CGM advancement for the conquest of *** back.at these past achievements of the NCC,we predict that the future of CGM will involve the following:1)A biobank.of paired cancerous and non-cancerous tissues and cells from various cancer types and stages will be *** quantity and quality of these samples will be compatible with omics *** biobank.samples will be link.d to longitudinal clinical information.2)New technologies,such as whole-genome sequencing and artificial intelligence,will be introduced and new bioresources for functional and pharmacologic analyses(e.g.,a patient-derived xenograft library)will be systematically deployed.3)Fast and bidirectional translational research(bench-to-bedside and bedside-to-bench)performed by basic researchers and clinical investigators,preferably work.ng alongside each other at the same institution,will be implemented;4)Close collaborations between academia,industry,regulatory bodies,and funding agencies will be established.5)There will be an investment in the other branch of CGM,personalized preventive medicine,based on the individual's genetic predisposition to cancer.
