Efficient and cost-effective electrocatalysts that can operate across a wide range of pH conditions are essential for green hydrogen *** by biological systems,Fe_(7)S_(8)nanoparticles incorporated on polydopamine matrix electrocatalyst were synthesized by co-precipitation and annealing *** resulting Fe_(7)S_(8)/C electrocatalyst possesses a three-dimensional structure and exhibits enhanced electrocatalytic performance for hydrogen production across various pH ***,the Fe_(7)S_(8)/C electrocatalyst demonstrates exceptional activity,achieving low overpotentials of 90.6,45.9,and 107.4 mV in acidic,neutral,and alk.line environments,*** impedance spectroscopy reveals that Fe_(7)S_(8)/C exhibits the lowest charge transfer resistance under neutral conditions,indicating an improved proton-coupled electron transfer ***-wave electron paramagnetic resonance results confirm a change in the valence state of Fe from 3+to 1+during the hydrogen evolution reaction(HER).These findings closely resemble the behavior of natural[FeFe]-hydrogenase,k.own for its superior hydrogen production in neutral *** remark.ble performance of our Fe_(7)S_(8)/C electrocatalyst opens up new possibilities for utilizing bioinspired materials as catalysts for the HER.

Electrochemical nitrogen reduction reaction(NRR)is a sustainable alterna-tive to the Haber-Bosch process for ammonia(NH3)***,the significant uphill energy in the multistep NRR pathway is a bottleneck.for favorable serial *** overcome this challenge,we designed a vanadium oxide/nitride(V_(2)O_(3)/VN)hybrid electrocatalyst in which V_(2)O_(3)and VN coex-ist coherently at the heterogeneous *** single-phase V_(2)O_(3)and VN exhibit different surface catalytic k.netics for NRR,the V_(2)O_(3)/VN hybrid elec-trocatalyst can provide alternating reaction pathways,selecting a lower energy pathway for each material in the serial NRR *** a result,the ammo-nia yield of the V_(2)O_(3)/VN hybrid electrocatalyst was 219.6µg h^(-1)cm^(-2),and the Faradaic efficiency was 18.9%,which is much higher than that of single-phase VN,V_(2)O_(3),and VNxOy solid solution catalysts without *** functional theory calculations confirmed that the composition of these hybrid electrocatalysts allows NRR to proceed from a multistep reduction reaction to a low-energy reaction pathway through the migration and adsorption of interme-diate ***,the design of metal oxide/nitride hybrids with coherent heterointerfaces provides a novel strategy for synthesizing highly efficient elec-trochemical catalysts that induce steps favorable for the efficient low-energy progression of NRR.

Various mucin-producing neoplasms originate in different abdominal and pelvic *** neoplasms differ from non-mucinous neoplasms because of the differences in clinical outcome and imaging *** carcinoma,in which at least 50%of the tumor is composed of large pools of extracellular mucin and columns of malignant cells,is associated with a worse *** ring cell carcinoma is characterized by large intracytoplasmic mucin vacuoles that expand in the malignant cells with the nucleus displaced to the *** prognosis is also generally *** contrast,intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm of the bile duct and pancreas,which is characterized by proliferation of ductal epithelium and variable mucin production,has a better prognosis than other malignancies in the pancreaticobiliary *** modalities play a critical role in differentiating mucinous from non-mucinous *** to high water content,mucin has a similar appearance to water on ultrasound(US) ,computed tomography(CT) ,and magnetic resonance imaging,except when thick.and proteinaceous,and then it tends to be hypoechoic with fine internal echoes or have complex echogenicity on US,hyperdense on CT,and hyperintense on T1and hypointense on T2-weighted images,compared to ***,k.owledge of characteristic mucin imaging features is helpful to diagnose various mucinproducing neoplastic conditions and to facilitate appropriate treatment.

Diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging(DWI)is a well established method for the evaluation of intracranial diseases,such as acute *** for extracranial application is more difficult due to physiological motion artifacts and the heterogeneous composition of the ***,thank. to the newer technical development of DWI,DWI has become increasingly used over the past few years in extracranial organs including the abdomen and *** previous studies of DWI have been limited to the evaluation of diffuse parenchymal abnormalities and focal lesions in abdominal organs,whereas there are few studies about DWI for the evaluation of the biliopancreatic *** further studies are needed to determine its performance in evaluating bile duct,gallbladder and pancreas diseases,DWI has potential in the assessment of the functional information on the biliopancreatic tract concerning the status of tissue cellularity,because increased cellularity is associated with impeded diffusion,as indicated by a reduction in the apparent diffusion *** detection of malignant lesions and their differentiation from benign tumor-lik. lesions in the biliopancreatic tract could be improved using DWI in conjunction with findings obtained with conventional magnetic resonance ***,DWI can be useful for the assessment of the biliopancreatic tract in patients with renal impairment because contrast-enhanced computed tomography or magnetic resonance scans should be avoided in these patients.

Objective:The effectiveness of adjuvant treatments for resected gallbladder carcinoma(GBC)has remained unclear due to lack.of randomized controlled trials;thus,the aim of present study was to evaluate the role of adjuvant treatments,including chemoradiotherapy(CRT)and/or chemotherapy(CTx),in patients with resected ***:A total of 733 GBC patients who received curative-intent surgical resection were identified in a multi-institutional *** 733 patients,372(50.8%)did not receive adjuvant treatment,whereas 215(29.3%)and 146(19.9%)received adjuvant CTx and CRT,*** locoregional recurrence-free survival(LRFS),recurrence-free survival(RFS),and overall survival(OS)of the adjuvant treatment groups were compared according to tumor stage(stage II *** III–IV).Results:In stage II disease(n=381),the 5-year LRFS,RFS,and OS were not significantly different among the no-adjuvant therapy,CTx,and CRT groups,and positive resection margin,presence of perineural invasion,and Nx classification were consistently associated with worse LRFS,RFS,and OS in the multivariate analysis(Pk.features.

Magnifying endoscopy for the diagnosis of specialized intestinal metaplasia in short-segment Barrett's esophagus

AIM:To determine whether magnified observation of short-segment Barrett’s esophagus(BE)is useful for the detection of specialized intestinal metaplasia(sim).METHODS:Thirty patients with suspected short-segment BE underwent magnifying endoscopy up to×*** magnified images were analyzed with respect to their pit-patterns,which were simultaneously classified into five epithelial types[Ⅰ(small round),Ⅱ(straight),Ⅲ(long oval),Ⅳ(tubular),Ⅴ(villous)]by Endo’s ***,a 0.5%solution of methylene blue(MB)was sprayed over columnar *** patterns of the magnified image and MB staining were *** were obtained from the regions previously observed by magnifying endoscopy and MB ***:Three of five patients with a typeⅤ(villous)epithelial pattern had sim,whereas 21 patients with a non-typeⅤepithelial patterns did not have *** sensitivity,specificity,accuracy,positive predictive value,and negative predictive value of pit-patterns in detecting sim were 100%,91.3%,92.3%,60%and100%,respectively(P=0.004).Three of the 12 patients with positive MB staining had sim,whereas 14patients with negative MB staining did not have *** sensitivity,specificity,accuracy,positive predictive value,and negative predictive value of MB staining in detecting sim were 100%,60.9%,65.4%,25%and100%,respectively(P=0.085).The specificity and accuracy of pit-pattern evaluation were significantly superior compared with MB staining for detecting sim by comparison with the exact McNemar’s test(P=0.0391).CONCLUSION:The magnified observation of a shortsegment BE according to the mucosal pattern and its classification can be predictive of sim.
