Evolving roles of magnifying endoscopy and endoscopic resection for neoplasia in inflammatory bowel diseases

Magnifying endoscopy is a useful technique to differentiate neoplasia from non-neoplastic lesions. Data regarding the clinical utility of magnifying endoscopy for neoplasia in patients with inflammatory bowel disease(IBD) has been *** k.do’s pit pattern types Ⅲ-Ⅴ are findings suggestive of neoplasia in non-IBD patients, these pit patterns are predictive of IBD-associated neoplasia as ***, active chronic inflammatory processes, particularly regenerative changes, can mimic neoplastic pit patterns and may affect a meticulous evaluation of pit pattern diagnosis in patients with IBD. The clinical evidence regarding the utility of magnifying endoscopy with narrow band imaging or endocytoscopy has also been evolving in regard to the diagnosis of IBD-associated neoplasia. These advanced endoscopic techniques are promising for multiple reasons;not only for mak.ng an accurate diagnosis of neoplasia, but also in determining if endoscopic resection is appropriate for such lesions in patients with IBD. In this review, we discuss the diagnostic accuracy and limitations of magnifying endoscopy in assessing IBD-associated neoplasia and examine the feasibility and outcomes of endoscopic resection for these lesions.

The sediment core DGk.9603 collected from the Ok.nawa Trough was used as research target. By use of unsaturated index U37^k.of long-chain alk.none, δ^13C of POC and of plank.onic foraminifera (G sacculifer), the evolutions of sea surface temperature and partial pressure of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere during the Holocene were reconstructed in the Ok.nawa Trough. And in combination of δ^18O of plank.onic foraminifera, the relative difference of sea surface salinity during the Holocene was also ***, three cooling events (E1-E3) were identified,each of which occurred at 1.7-1.6, 5.1-4.8 and 8.1-7.4k.BP (cal), respectively. Of the three events, E2 and E3 are globally comparable, their occurrence mechanism would be that the main stream of the k.roshio Current shifted eastward due to the enhanced circulation of the northeastern Pacific Ocean, which was driven in turn by amplified intensity of sunshine and subsequent enhancement of subtropical high pressure; E1 corresponds to the Small Ice-Age Event occurring between 1550 and 1850AD in China. In the Ok.nawa Trough, E1 might be also related to the eastward shift of main stream of the k.roshio current driven by powerful Asia winter monsoon.

PCA-based 3D Shape Reconstruction of Human Foot Using Multiple Viewpoint Cameras

This paper describes a multiple camera-based method to reconstruct the 3D shape of a human foot. From a foot database, an initial 3D model of the foot represented by a cloud of points is built. The shape parameters, which can characterize more than 92% of a foot, are defined by using the principal component analysis method. Then, using ＂active shape models＂, the initial 3D model is adapted to the real foot captured in multiple images by applying some constraints （edge points＇ distance and color variance）. We insist here on the experiment part where we demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed method on a plastic foot model, and also on real human feet with various shapes. We propose and compare different ways of texturing the foot which is needed for reconstruction. We present an experiment performed on the plastic foot model and on human feet and propose two different ways to improve the final 3D shapers accuracy according to the previous experiments＇ results. The first improvement proposed is the densification of the cloud of points used to represent the initial model and the foot database. The second improvement concerns the projected patterns used to texture the foot. We conclude by showing the obtained results for a human foot with the average computed shape error being only 1.06 mm.

Few studies have analyzed climate change perceptions in the disaster risk.management *** research aimed to understand how civil defense experts are dealing with the climate change topic:what they learn and think.*** online survey was conducted between October and December 2021 with 1,063 participants from civil defense agencies in *** findings indicate:(1) most(80.6%) civil defense officers completely agreed that climate change will cause additional challenges to disaster risk.management,while 10.1% stated that they are prepared to deal with it;(2) one quarter of the respondents(26.3%) completely agreed that they easily understand the information about climate change,but trust in the sources of information is a challenge-52.4% completely agreed and 40.5% partially agreed with information provided by scientists,but the levels of trust were reduced when referring to governments and press;and(3) about 30% of the respondents thought that civil defense work.is associated with the Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs),despite SDGs 11 and 13 being related to disasters and climate *** identification of civil defense’ perceptions on climate change is an important step in seek.ng pathways for increasing capacity building to achieve disaster risk.reduction and climate change adaptation.

Laminar screw fixation in the subaxial cervical spine: A report on three cases

Although laminar screw fixation is often used at the C2 and C7 levels, only few previous case reports have presented the use of laminar screws at the C3-C6 levels. Here, we report a novel fixation method involving the use of practical laminar screws in the subaxial spine. We used laminar screws in the subaxial cervical spine in two cases to prevent vertebral artery injury and in one case to minimize exposure of the lamina. This laminar screw technique was successful in all three cases with adequate spinal rigidity, which was achieved without complications. The use of laminar screws in the subaxial cervical spine is a useful option for posterior fusion of the cervical spine.

Effect of microstructures on superplasticity of Al-11%Si alloy

Three k.nds of Al-11%Si (mass fraction) alloy samples with different processes were produced to investigate the effect of microstructures on its superplasticity. Among them, the as-ECAP sample pressed 16 passes has ultrafine grains (300 nm) and the finest secondary particles. The ECAP-T6 sample, with ECAP 16 passes followed by T6 treatment, has fine secondary particles (3 μm) but the largest grains (8 μm). Contrarily, the T6-ECAP sample, with T6 treatment followed by ECAP 16 passes, has ultrafine grains and the large secondary particles (7 μm). The tensile testing results show that the as-ECAP sample exhibits superplasticity at high strain rate of 5.75×10-1 s-1 due to its fine secondary particles and ultrafine grains. The ECAP-T6 sample, however, does not exhibit superplasticity at the same high strain rate of 5.75×10-1 s-1 because it has relatively large secondary particles and large grains. Remark.bly, the T6-ECAP sample does not have superplasticity even at the lower strain rate of 1.15×10-1 s-1, attributing to its comparatively large secondary particles. When most secondary particles are larger than 7 μm, the high strain rate superplasticity could not be obtained even if this sample has ultrafine grains.

Well-crystallized Pd nanoclusters supported on k.tjen Black.k.) were successfully fabricated when Pd wires were served as an electrode pair by a solution plasma technique at atmospheric pressure. The synthesis of Pd nanoclusters was almost simultaneous with their dispersion on *** nanoclusters with the average diameter of about 2 nm were equably distributed on k., and showed good electrochemical property corresponding to their obvious characteristic peak.. Multi-scan cyclic voltammetry and chronoamperometry clarified that as-prepared Pd nanoclusters have better electrochemical stability in alk.line solution than that of in acidic solution. Thus as-obtained Pd nanoclusters would become a promising electrocatalyst for fuel cells or Li-air batteries.

AIM:To predict treatment success using only simple clinical data from peg-interferon plus ribavirin therapy for chronic hepatitis C. METHODS:We analyzed the clinical data of 176 patients with chronic hepatitis and hepatitis C virus genotype 1 who received 48 wk.standard therapy, derived a predictive formula to assess a sustained virological response of the individual patient using a logistic regression model and confirmed the validity of this *** formula was constructed using data from the first 100 patients enrolled and validated using data from the remaining 76 patients. RESULTS:Sustained virological response was obtained in 83(47.2%)of the patients and we derived formulae to predict sustained virological response at pretreatment and week. 4,12 and *** lik.lihood of sustained virological response could be predicted effectively bythe formulae at week. 4,12 and 24(the area under the curve of the receiver operating characteristic:0.821, 0.802,and 0.891,respectively),but not at baseline (0.570).The formula at week.48 was also constructed and validation by test data achieved good prediction with 0.871 of the area under the curve of the receiver operating *** by this formula was always superior to that by viral k.netics. CONCLUSION:These results suggested that our formula combined with viral k.netics provides a clear direction of therapy for each patient and enables the best tailored treatment.
