This paper presents a hysteresis mathematical model of a shape memory alloy(SMA)actuator for feedforward hysteresis *** hysteresis model represents the relation between temperature,stress,and electric ***,based on the laws of thermodynamics,the hysteresis model of the SMA actuator is ***,the inverse of the hysteresis model is obtained to produce a compensator for non‐linear characteristics such as hysteresis and ***,the parameters of the hysteresis model are obtained from each experiment under constant load and constant temperature,and the model validity is confirmed by comparing experimentally obtained ***,the inverse model is applied to a part of feedforward hysteresis *** order to verify the effectiveness of the proposed model as hysteresis compensator,an electrical resistance control using feedback.feedforward control was conducted by numerical *** simulation results indicate advantages of the proposed mathematical model in hysteresis compensation of SMA actuator,and demonstrate that the model is capable of handling load fluctuation.

We applied the discrete element method （DEM） of simulation modified by an enlarged particle model to simulate bead motion in a large bead mill. The stainless-steel bead mill has inner diameter of 102 mm and mill length of 198 mm. The bead diameter and filling ratio were fixed respectively at 0.5 mm and 85%. The agitator rotational speed was changed from 1863 to 3261 rpm. The bead motion was monitored experimentally using a high-speed video camera through a transparent mill body. For the simulation, enlarged particle sizes were set as 3-6 mm in diameter. With the DEM modified by the enlarged particle model, the motion of enlarged particles in a mill was *** velocity data of the simulated enlarged particles were compared with those obtained in the experiment. The simulated velocity of the enlarged particles depends on the virtual frictional coefficient in the DEM model. The optimized value of the virtual frictional coefficient can be determined by considering the accumulated mean value. Results show that the velocity of the enlarged particles simulated increases with an increase in the optimum virtual frictional coefficient, but the simulated velocity agrees well with that determined experimentally by optimizing the virtual frictional coefficient in the simulation. The computing time in the simulation decreases with increased particle size.

We examined wave phenomena pertinent to water in a rotating,laterally oscillating cylindrical *** particular,we measured the time-dependent dynamic water pressure and pressure change by fast Fourier transform *** swirling of water in the container had three frequency components;the frequency responses of each frequency component are reported *** swirling occurs in a rotating cylindrical container,it was found that the wave rotating in the same direction as the rotation of the cylindrical container and the wave rotating in the opposite direction to the cylindrical container exist at the same *** swirling direction was determined by the relationship of these magnitude.

Back.round:The aim of the study was to explore the ecological diversity of wild birds in Siberia, which are the natural reservoir of avian influenza virus(AIV).Methods:Cloacal swabs and intestinal fragments were collected from wild migratory birds from 2007-2014. Isolated viruses were grown in the allantoic cavity of embryonated chick.n eggs. The presence of virus was determined using hemagglutination assays. Primary identification and subtyping of influenza viruses was confirmed by ***:A total of 2300 samples obtained from wild migratory birds of 8 orders were collected and tested. Influenza was detected in 185 birds of 3 orders. Species of family Anatidae(order Anseriformes) such as European Teal(Anas crecca), Garganey Teal(A. querquedula), and Shoveler(A. clypeata) play the main role in AIV circulation in the south of Western Siberia. The proportion of viral carriers among waterfowl ranged from 5.6 to 20% in 2007-2014. The order Charadriiformes had lower virus isolation rates of not more than 1.4%.Conclusions:Wild migratory waterfowl of orders Anseriformes and Charadriiformes are the main reservoir of AIV in the south of Western Siberia. This area plays a k.y role in persistence, evolution, and geographical distribution of avian influenza.

In this paper, we consider the following problem about the James constant： When does the equality J（X＊） = J（X） hold for a Banach space X ？ It is k.own that the James constant of a Banach space does not coincide with that of its dual space in general. In fact, we already have counterexamples of two-dimensional normed spaces that are equipped with either symmetric or absolute norms. However,we show that if the norm on a two-dimensional space X is both symmetric and absolute, then the equality J（X＊） = J（X） holds. This provides a global answer to the problem in the two-dimensional case.

In this paper,we propose that the urinary toxins from the wastewater be adsorbed on an adsorbent such as spherical activated carbon and the latter be regenerated by subjecting it to high temperatures to recycle activated carbon and also to recycle the water used in *** studied the adsorption of artificial waste dialysate,which is a mixed solution of urea,creatinine,and uric acid,and the separate solutions for each of these and found that their extents of adsorption onto the spherical activated carbon material were nearly *** amount of adsorption was approximately 1.4 mg·g^−1 for urea,18 mg·g^−1 for creatinine,and 20 mg·g^−1 for uric *** urea,creatinine,and uric acid adsorbed onto the spherical activated carbon decomposed on heat treatment at 500℃,and the adsorption capacity of the spherical activated carbon was *** study successfully demonstrated that the spherical activated carbon can be recycled in the waste dialysate treatment process.

This study presents stochastic methods to simulate wave envelopes in layeredrandom media. High-frequency Seismograms of small earthquak.s are so complexdue to lithospheric inhomogeneity that seismologists often analyze wave envelopesrather than wave traces to quantify the subsurface inhomogeneity. Since thestatistical properties of the inhomogeneity vary regionally, it is important to developand examine direct envelope simulation methods for non-uniform random media. Asa simple example, this study supposes planewave propagation through two-layer randommedia in 2-D composed of weak.and strong inhomogeneity zones. The characteristicspatial-scale of the inhomogeneity is supposed to be larger than the wavelength,where small-angle scattering around the forward direction dominates large-angle *** envelope simulation methods based on the small-angle scattering approximationare examined. One method is to solve a differential equation for the twofrequencymutual coherence function with the Mark.v approximation. The other isto solve the stochastic ray bending process by using the Monte Carlo method basedon the Mark.v approximation for the mutual coherence function. The resultant waveenvelopes of the two methods showed excellent coincidence both for uniform and fortwo-layer random media. Furthermore, we confirmed the validity of the two methodscomparing with the envelopes made from the finite difference simulations of *** two direct envelope simulation methods presented in this study can be a mathematicalbase for the study of high-frequency wave propagation through randomlyinhomogeneous lithosphere in seismology.

Multi-view dynamic three-dimensional reconstruction has typically required the use of custom shutter-synchronized camera rigs in order to capture scenes containing rapid movements or complex topology changes. In this paper, we demonstrate that multiple unsynchronized low-cost RGB-D cameras can be used for the same purpose. To alleviate issues caused by unsynchronized shutters, we propose a novel depth frame interpolation technique that allows synchronized data capture from highly dynamic 3 D scenes. To manage the resulting huge number of input depth images, we also introduce an efficient moving least squares-based volumetric reconstruction method that generates triangle meshes of the scene. Our approach does not store the reconstruction volume in memory,mak.ng it memory-efficient and scalable to large *** implementation is completely GPU based and work. in real time. The results shown herein, obtained with real data, demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed method and its advantages compared to stateof-the-art approaches.

Effects of aggregating forests, establishing forest road network., and mechanization on operational efficiency and costs in a mountainous region in Japan

We investigated forest road network. and forestry operations before and after mechanization on aggregated forestry operation sites. We developed equations to estimate densities of road network. with average slope angles, operational efficiency of bunching operations with road network.density, and average forwarding distances with operation site areas. Subsequently, we analyzed the effects of aggregating forests, establishing forest road network., and mechanization on operational efficiency and costs. Six ha proved to be an appropriate operation site area with minimum operation expenses. The operation site areas of the forest owners＇ cooperative in this region aggregated approximately 6 ha and the cooperative conducted forestry operations on aggregated sites. Therefore, 6 ha would be an appropriate operation site area in this region. Regarding road network.density, higher-density road network. increased operational expenses due to the higher direct operational expenses of strip road establishment. Therefore, road network.density should be reduced to approximately 200 m.
