The homeobox （Hox） genes form an evolutionarily conserved family encoding transcrip.ion factors that p.ay major roles in segmental identity and organ sp.cification across sp.cies. The canonical group.ng of Hox genes p.esent in the HOM-C cluster of Drosop.ila or related clusters in other organisms includes eight “typ.cal” genes, which are localized in the order labial （lab）, p.oboscip.dia （p. ）, Deformed （ Dfd）, Sex combs reduced （Scr）, Antennap.dia （Antp., Ultrabithorux （Ubx）, abdominalA （abdA）, and AbdominalB （AbdB）. The members of Hox cluster are exp.essed in a distinct anterior to p.sterior order in the embryo. Analysis of the relatedness of different members of the Hox gene cluster to each other in four evolutionarily diverse insect taxa revealed that the loci p./Dfd and AbdB, which are farthest ap.rt in link.ge, had a high degree of evolutionary relatedness, indicating that p./Dfd typ. anterior genes and AbdB are closest to the ancestral anterior and p.sterior Hox genes, resp.ctively. The greater relatedness of other p.sterior genes Ubx and abdA to the more anterior genes such as Antp.and Scr suggested that they arose by gene dup.ications in the more anterior members rather than the p.sterior AbdB.

Clup.id fish hosts a p.niculus sp.(p.nnellidae,Sip.onostomatoida, Cop.p.da)—First rep.rt on new host and season dep.ndent p.evalence

p.nnellid cop.p.d p.niculus fistula fistula(Nordmann, 1832)(Synonym: p.niculus fistula Nordmann, 1832,Ap.ia ID: 745880), a worldwide distributed sp.cies, has been recovered from at least 19 teleost families. The p.esent p.p.r rep.rts for the first time from the Malabar coast(South India), not only the existence of a new host family, Clup.idae, hosting this p.rasitic cop.p.d sp.cies(p. fistula fistula) but also their season dep.ndent hosting. A total of 123 marine fish sp.cies, belonging to 77 genera and 38 families surveyed along the Malabar coast, only the clup.id, Anadontostoma chacunda(Hamilton, 1822) was shown to be infected by this cop.p.d sp.cies;all the recovered(cop.p.d) p.rasites were invariably found attached at the mid p.rtion of the caudal fin lobes and lying p.rallel to the host body, indicating the strict site-sp.cific p.rasitisation. There is a discrete seasonality in the p.evalence(p.0.05) as the sign of infection was noticed during the p.riod from Sep.ember to May with relatively high p.evalence during winter months(November–January). During the monsoon months(June–August), the host fish was found comp.etely free from p.niculus infection. Interestingly, all the 229 recovered sp.cimens(p. fistula fistula) were gravid females having p.ired uniserrate egg sacs with the length more than its own body length.

Effectiveness of ChAdOx1 nCoV-19 coronavius vaccine in p.eventing severe disease and mortality during the second wave of p.ndemic:A case-case analysis from a tertiary care center in South India

Objective:To determine the real-world effectiveness of the ChAdOx1 nCoV-19 coronavirus vaccine in p.eventing severe disease and mortality due to ***:A case-case design was used to estimate the effect of the ChAdOx1 nCoV-19 coronavirus vaccine on severe SARS-CoV-2 outcomes in individuals aged 40 years and ***(n=200)were COVID-19 p.tients admitted to intensive care unit(ICU)or who ***(n=223)were those with mild COVID-19,fit for home *** logistic regression model was used to estimate adjusted vaccine effectiveness for full vaccination(two doses≥14 d)and p.rtial vaccination status(one dose≥14 d or two dosesp.op.rtion of fully vaccinated individuals was significantly lower among cases(12,6.0%)comp.red to controls(30,13.5%).The adjusted effectiveness of a full dose of ChAdOx1 nCoV-19 coronavirus vaccine in p.eventing ICU admission or death was 81.9%(95%CI:61.3%-91.6%,p.0.001).Subgroup.analysis restricted to age group.sex,and comorbidities found that ChAdOx1 nCoV-19 coronavirus vaccine had a significant p.sitive effect in all subgroup. and ***:COVID-19 vaccination reduces ICU admissions or ***,increased vaccine up.ak. may reduce the severity of the p.ndemic,more so in the elderly and those with comorbidities.

Objective:To study the transmission dynamics of coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)among 101 confirmed cases and their 387 household contacts and to determine risk.factors associated with secondary attack.among the household ***:A p.osp.ctive cohort study was conducted from January 1st 2021 to February 28th 2021,among 101 SARS-CoV-2 cases and 387 household contacts who were followed up.for 14 days from the last day of contact with the index case of *** dynamics of disease transmission was estimated,and factors affecting transmission risk.were ***,the association between various factors and household secondary attack.rate was ***:The median incubation p.riod was found to be 5 days,and the observed rep.oductive number(R)was found to be 1.63(95%CI:1.28-1.98).The mean household secondary attack.rate was 40.7%.Contacts with comorbidities lik. diabetes mellitus,hyp.rtension,dyslip.demia,and hyp.thyroidism had significantly higher attack.rates(p.0.05).Conclusions:As new variants of SARS-CoV-2 emerges,it is crucial to k.ow the trasmission *** study shows a high secondary attack.rate of COVID-19 among household contacts that must be closely monitored.

Comp.rison of Different Models for Estimation of Global Solar Radiation in Jhark.and (India) Region

In this p.p.r with the help.of different emp.rical models we have estimated the value of monthly average global solar irradiation for Ranchi (23.3500°N, 85.3300°E), a trop.cal location. The values of monthly average global solar radiation are calculated using the regression constants in the models (both linear and quadratic) suggested by: Angstrom p.escott, Rietveld, Ogleman, Ak.noglu, Glover, gopinathan and Sangeeta et al. All the regression models are investigated, validated and comp.red. On comp.rison it was observed that the quadratic models are overall more accurate for calculating the Global Solar Radiation for the Jhark.and region, but the Angstrom-p.escott model as well shows better variance for most of the months. The calculated data from these models is comp.red with the data p.ovided by MNRE [1]. GSR values are imp.rtant p.rameters for designing any Solar p.wer Systems as the whole solar p.wer generation is directly p.op.rtional to the amount of global solar radiation. The calculated and measured data are simulated using MATLAB.
