Harmonics in power systems is increasingly at high level. Also, there has been an incred.ble growth in the use of cross link.d.polyethylene (XLPE) cables in d.stribution systems. Harmonics cause ad.itional power loss/temperature rise;causing premature failure of cables. Catastrophic failure of power cables lead. to great inconvenience to consumers and.loss of system reliability and.money. To avoid.the overheating of power cables;the ad.itional power loss d.e to harmonics should.be accurately calculated.and.properly accommod.ted.by d.rating the cable. The present method.of calculating the power loss in cables in harmonics rich environment is very ard.ous. The aim of this paper is to present the reasonably accurate method.for evaluating effects of harmonics on the power loss in XLPE cables. Computational mod.l is d.veloped.in MATLAB for power loss calculation using conventional method. Using this mod.l, calculations are performed.for aluminium and.copper cond.ctor XLPE cables of d.fferent size and.type;for three d.fferent types of harmonics spectrums having total harmonics d.stortion (THd. of 30.68%, includ.ng all od. harmonics components up to 49th ord.r. Using these results;a mathematical mod.l in the form of simple empirical formula is d.veloped.by curve fitting technique. The results obtained.by various mod.ls are presented.and.compared.with error justification.

The present paper presents an experimental and.numerical investigation of the d.spersion of the gaseous jet flow and.co-flow for the simple unit cell(SUC)and.bod.-centred.cubic(BCC)configuration of particles in pack.d.*** experimental setup is built in such a way that suitable and.simplified.bound.ry cond.tions are imposed.for the correspond.ng numerical framework.so the simulations can be d.ne und.r very similar cond.tions as the ***,a porous plate is used.for the co-flow to achieve the uniform velocity and.the fully d.veloped.flow is ensured.for the jet *** SUC and.BCC particle bed. consist of 3d.printed.spheres,and.the non-isotropy near the walls is mostly eliminated.by placing half-spheres at the channel *** flow velocities are analysed.d.rectly at the exit of the particle bed.for both bed. over 36 pores for the SUC configuration and.60 pores for the BCC configuration,for particle Reynold. numbers of 200,300,and.*** particle image velocimetry is experimentally arranged.in such a way that the velocities over the entire region at the exit of the pack.d.bed.are obtained.*** numerical method.consists of a state-of-the-art immersed.bound.ry method.with ad.ptive mesh *** paper presents the pore jet structure and.velocity field.exiting from each pore for the SUC and.BCC pack.d.particle *** numerical and.experimental stud.es show a good.agreement for the SUC configuration for all flow *** the BCC configuration,some d.fferences can be observed.in the pore jet flow structure between the simulations and.the experiments,but the general flow velocity d.stribution shows a good.overall *** axial velocity is generally higher for the pores located.near the centre of the pack.d.bed.than for the pores near the *** ad.ition,the axial velocities are observed.to increase near the peripheral pores of the pack.d.*** behaviour is pred.minant for the BCC configuration as compared.to t

Back.round.Globally, the cultivation of cotton is constrained.by its tend.ncy for extend.d.period. of growth. Early maturity plays a potential role in rainfed.based.multiple cropping system especially in the current era of climate change. In the current stud., a set of 20 d.verse Gossypium hirsutum genotypes were evaluated.in two crop seasons with three planting d.nsities and.assessed.for 11 morphological traits related.to early maturity. The stud. aimed.to id.ntify genotype(s) that mature rapid.y and.accomplish well und.r d.verse environmental cond.tions based.on the two robust multivariate techniques called.multi-trait stability ind.x(MTSI) and.multi-trait genotype-id.otype d.stance ind.x(MGId.).Results MTSI analysis revealed.that out of the 20 genotypes, three genotypes, viz., NNd.-30, A-2, and.S-32 accomplished.well in terms of early maturity traits in two seasons. Furthermore, three genotypes were selected.using MGId. method.for each planting d.nsities with a selection intensity of 15%. The strengths and.weak.esses of the genotypes selected.based.on MGId. method.highlighted.that the breed.rs could.focus on d.veloping early-maturing genotypes with specific traits such as d.ys to first flower and.boll opening. The selected.genotypes exhibited.positive genetic gains for traits related.to earliness and.a successful harvest d.ring the first and.second.pick.ngs. However, there were negative gains for traits related.to flowering and.boll *** The stud. id.ntified.three genotypes exhibiting early maturity and.accomplished.well und.r d.fferent planting d.nsities. The multivariate method.(MTSI and.MGId.) serve as novel approaches for selecting d.sired.genotypes in plant breed.ng programs, especially across various growing environments. These method. offer exclusive benefits and.can easily construe and.minimize multicollinearity issues.

Aluminum metallization using the sprayed.coating for exhaust mild.steel （MS） pipes of tractors is a stand.rd.practice for avoid.ng rusting. Patches of thin metal coats are prone to rusting and.are thus consid.red.as d.fects in the surface coating. This paper reports a novel configuration of the fiber optic sensor for on-line check.ng the aluminum metaUization uniformity and.hence for d.fect d.tection. An optimally chosen high bright 440 nm BLUE LEd.（light-emitting d.od.） launches light into a transmitting fiber inclined.at the angle of 60° to the surface und.r inspection placed.ad.quately. The reflected.light is transported.by a receiving fiber to a blue enhanced.photo d.tector. The metallization thick.ess on the coated.surface results in visually observable variation in the gray shad.s. The coated.pipe is spirally inspected.by a combination of linear and.rotary motions. Pred.cting treatment responses in ad.anced.prostate cancer （PCa） currently centres on prostate-specific antigen （PSA） k.netics and.on being able to visualize measurable changes in imaging mod.lities. New molecular mark.rs have emerged.as potential d.agnostic and.prognostic ind.cators; these were summarized.in Part I of this review in the Asian Journal ofAnd.ology. A number of molecular mark.rs are now being used.to enhance PCa imaging and.staging. However, management options for ad.anced.and.hormone-resistant PCa （HRPC） are limited.and.ad.itional therapeutic options are need.d. Molecular mark.rs have been proposed.as potential therapeutic targets using gene therapy and.immunomod.lation. Ad.itionally, mark.rs id.ntified.in early PCa and.precursor lesions may offer novel targets for chemoprevention and.vaccine d.velopment. This review summarizes the current ad.ances regard.ng the roles of these mark.rs in the management of PCa.

The longitud.nal d.spersion of solute in open channel flow with short period.progressive waves is investigated. The waves ind.ce second.ord.r d.ift velocity in the d.rection of propagation and.enhance the mixing process in concurrent d.rection. The 1-d.wave-period.averaged.d.spersion equation is d.rived.and.an expression for the wave-current ind.ced.longitud.nal d.spersion coefficient （WCLd.） is propased.based.on Fiscber＇ s expression （1979） for d.spersion in unid.rectional flow. The result shows that the effect of waves on d.spersion is mainly d.e to the cross-sectional variation of the d.ift velocity. Furthermore, to obtain a more practical expression of the WCLd., the longitud.nal d.spersion coefficient d.e to Seo and.Cheong （1998） is mod.fied.to incluee the effect of d.ift velocity. Laboratory experiments have been cond.cted.to verify the propased.expression. The experimental results, together with d.mensional analysis, show that tbe wave effect can be reflected.by the ratio between the wave amplitud. and.wave period. A comparative stud. between the cases with and.without waves d.monstrates that the magnitud. of the longitud.nal d.spersion coefficient is increased.nnd.r the presence of waves.
