BACKGROUND Hepatic artery stenosis is a complication of orthotopic liver transplant occurring in 3.1%-7.4%of patients that can result in graft failure and need for *** therapy with angioplasty and stenting has been used with a high degree of technical success and good clinical outcomes,but tortuous hepatic arteries present a unique challenge for *** stents for this application should be maneuverable and conformable while also exerting adequate radial force to maintain a patent *** SUmmARY Herein we report our experience with a neurovascular Wingspan stent system in a challenging case of recurrent hepatic artery stenosis and discuss the literature of stenting in tortuous transplant hepatic *** Wingspan neurovascular stent is self-expanding,has good conformability,and adequate radial resistance and as such it could be added to the armamentarium of interventionalists in the setting of a tortuous and stenotic transplant hepatic artery.

A novel tri-layer approach for immobilizing metal nanoparticles in SiO2 supports is *** this work,we show that under rapid heating to temperatures of approximately 1,000 ℃,metal nanoparticles less than 15 nm in size will entrench in the SiO2 layer on a silicon wafer to create pores as deep as 250 *** studied and characterized this entrenching behavior and subsequent nanopore formation for a wide variety of metal nanoparticles,including Au,Ag,Pt,Pd,and *** also demonstrate that an Al2O3 layer acts as a barrier to such pore ***,by creating a tri-layer architecture consisting of SiO2 on Al2O3 on silicon wafers,we can control the depth to which nanoparticles entrench between 3-5 *** small range allows one to entrench particles for the purpose of immobilization but still present them above the *** two advances of moving into the sub-15 nm size regime and of controlled particle immobilization through entrenchment have important implications in studying site-isolated and stabilized metal nanoparticles for applications in sensing,separations,and catalysis.

RNA interference （RNAi） effectors such as small interfering RNA （siRNA） and micro RNA （miRNA） can selectively downregulate any gene implicated in the pathology of a disease. Therefore, RNAi-based therapies have immense potential for the treatment of a wide range of diseases. However, pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic studies have revealed that these therapeutic agents have poor bioactivity due to a number of factors, including insufficient plasma drug levels, short plasma half-lives, renal clearance, and hepatic metabolism. Non-viral delivery may facilitate the clinical application of siRNA-based therapeutics by helping to overcome these barriers. Recently, the potential of gold nanoparticles （AuNPs） as multifunctional carriers for transporting drugs, proteins, and genetic materials has been demonstrated. In this review, some of the key properties of AuNPs relevant to siRNA delivery, such as physical properties and surface chemistry have been described. In addition, the ability of AuNP-based formulation strategies to successfully overcome delivery barriers associated with siRNA, and the potential for this material to translate into safe and effective nanomedicines are critically discussed.

Water quality sondes have the advantage of containing multiple sensors,extended deployment times,high temporal resolution,and telecommunication with stakeholder accessible data ***,sondes that are part of buoy deployments often suffer from typically being fixed at one *** water treatment plants are interested in water quality at a depth of the water intake and other stakeholders(*** and swimmers)are interested in the surface,we examined whether a fixed depth of approximately 1 m could cause over-or under-estimation of cyanobacterial *** sampled the vertical distribution of cyanobacteria adjacent to a water quality sonde buoy in the western basin of Lake Erie during the summers of 2015–2017.A comparison of buoy cyanobacteria RFU(Relative Fluorescence Unit)at 1 m to cyanobacteria chlorophyll a(chla)measured throughout the water column showed occurrences when the buoy both under and overestimated the cyanobacteria chl a at specific *** differences between buoy measurements and at-depth grab samples occurred during low wind speeds(m/sec)because low winds allowed cyanobacteria to accumulate at the surface above the buoy’s *** wind speeds(>4.5 m/sec)resulted in better agreement between the buoy and at-depth *** wind speeds 12 hr before sample collection decreased the difference between the buoy and at-depth samples for high wind speeds but not low *** suggest that sondes should be placed at a depth of interest for the appropriate stakeholder group or deploy sondes with the ability to sample at various depths.

manganese is ubiquitous in terrestrial environments and most studies have focused on dissolution of mn oxides,but aluminosilicates also release ***,we evaluated oxic mn dissolution from six rocks and minerals(amphibolite,anorthosite,kaolinite,kyanite,muscovite,orthoclase feldspar) and soils from four Critical Zone Observatories(CZOs) under four LmWOLs treatments(catechol,citric acid,oxalic acid,control).Overall rock and mineral mn mass-normalized release was 1.4 ± 0.5 nm μm^(-1) 14 d^(-1) and dissolution rate was 2403 ± 935 nm m^(-2) d^(-1) x 10^(3).Overall CZO soil mn release was 16.7±5.1 nm μm^(-1) 14 d^(-1) and dissolution rate was 7010 ± 2570 nm m^(-2) d^(-1) × 10^(3).Anorthosite and kyanite had the highest mn dissolution rates but kaolinite and kyanite had the highest mn mass-normalized release *** hypothesize the structural location of mn,surface area,and potential inclusions of highly-weatherable-phases control mn dissolution for rocks and *** soils with the highest solid phase mn had the highest mn release and dissolution *** acid and catechol had higher mn release and dissolution rates than the control while oxalic acid did *** rocks and minerals,we found pH 4 had higher mn release and dissolution rates than pH6,but not for control treatments without *** study highlights that the abundance of mn drove mn release in soils but not rocks and ***,LmWOLs are important for mn dissolution,even under acidic pH conditions.

The severe shortfall in testing supplies during the initial COVID-19 outbreak and ensuing struggle to manage the pandemic have affirmed the critical importance of optimal supplyconstrained resource allocation strategies for controlling novel disease *** address the challenge of constrained resource optimization for managing diseases with complications like pre-and asymptomatic transmission,we develop an integro partial differential equation compartmental disease model which incorporates realistic latent,incubation,and infectious period distributions along with limited testing supplies for identifying and quarantining infected *** model overcomes the limitations of typical ordinary differential equation compartmental models by decoupling symptom status from model compartments to allow a more realistic representation of symptom onset and presymptomatic *** analyze the influence of these realistic features on disease controllability,we find optimal strategies for reducing total infection sizes that allocate limited testing resources between‘clinical’testing,which targets symptomatic individuals,and‘non-clinical’testing,which targets non-symptomatic *** apply our model not only to the original,delta,and omicron COVID-19 variants,but also to generically parameterized disease systems with varying mismatches between latent and incubation period distributions,which permit varying degrees of presymptomatic transmission or symptom onset before *** find that factors that decrease controllability generally call for reduced levels of non-clinical testing in optimal strategies,while the relationship between incubation-latent mismatch,controllability,and optimal strategies is *** particular,though greater degrees of presymptomatic transmission reduce disease controllability,they may increase or decrease the role of nonclinical testing in optimal strategies depending on other disease factors like transmissibility

SUmmARY Postpartum psychosis is a condition characterised by rapid onset of psychotic symptoms several weeks after childbirth. Outside of its timing and descriptions of psychotic features, minimal research exists due to its relative rarity (1 to 2 per 1000 births in the USA), with greater emphasis on postpartum sadness and depression. With the existi叩 literature, cultural differences and language barriers previously have not been taken into consideration as there are no documented cases of postpartum psychosis in a non-English-speaki叩 patient. Correctly differentiating postpartum psychosis from other postpartum psychiatric disorders requires adeptly evaluating for the presence of psychotic symptoms with in-depth history taking.

N^6-methyladenosine(m^6 A) is an essential RNA modification that regulates key cellular processes, including stem cell renewal,cellular differentiation, and response to DNA damage. Unsurprisingly, aberrant m^6 A methylation has been implicated in the development and maintenance of diverse human cancers. Altered m^6 A levels affect RNA processing, mRNA degradation, and translation of mRNAs into proteins, thereby disrupting gene expression regulation and promoting tumorigenesis. Recent studies have reported that the abnormal expression of m^6 A regulatory enzymes affects m^6 A abundance and consequently dysregulates the expression of tumor suppressor genes and oncogenes, including mYC, SOCS2, ADAm19, and PTEN. In this review, we discuss the specific roles of m^6 A missing space "writers", "erasers", and "readers" in normal physiology and how their altered expression promotes tumorigenesis. We also describe the potential of exploiting the aberrant expression of these enzymes for cancer diagnosis, prognosis, and the development of novel therapies.
