Breast cancer detection heavily relies on medical imaging, particu.arly u.trasou.d, for early diagnosis and effectivetreatment. This research addresses the challenges associated with compu.er-aided diagnosis (CAD) of breastcancer fromu.trasou.d images. The primary challenge is accu.ately distingu.shing between malignant and benigntu.ors, complicated by factors su.h as speckle noise, variable image qu.lity, and the need for precise segmentationand classification. The main objective of the research paper is to develop an advanced methodology for breastu.trasou.d image classification, focu.ing on speckle noise redu.tion, precise segmentation, featu.e extraction, andmachine learning-based classification. A u.iqu. approach is introdu.ed that combines Enhanced Speckle Redu.edAnisotropic Diffu.ion (SRAD) filters for speckle noise redu.tion, u.NET-based segmentation, Genetic Algorithm(GA)-based featu.e selection, and Random Forest and Bagging Tree classifiers, resu.ting in a novel and efficientmodel. To test and validate the hybrid model, rigorou. experimentations were performed and resu.ts state thatthe proposed hybrid model achieved accu.acy rate of 99.9%, ou.performing other existing techniqu.s, and alsosignificantly redu.ing compu.ational time. This enhanced accu.acy, along with improved sensitivity and specificity,makes the proposed hybrid model a valu.ble addition to CAD systems in breast cancer diagnosis, u.timatelyenhancing diagnostic accu.acy in clinical applications.

Sex differences in the su.ceptibility of SARS-CoV-2 infection and severity have been controversial,and the u.derlying mechanisms of COVID-19 in a sex-specific manner remain *** we inspected sex differences in SARS-CoV-2 infection,hospitalization,admission to the intensive care u.it(ICu.,sera inflammatory biomarker profiling,and single-cell RNA-sequ.ncing(scRNA-seq)profiles across nasal,bronchoalveolar lavage flu.d(BALF),and peripheral blood mononu.lear cells(PBMCs)from COVID-19 patients with varying degrees of disease *** propensity score-matching observations revealed that male individu.ls have a 29%elevated likelihood of SARS-CoV-2 positivity,with a hazard ratio(HR)1.32(95%confidence interval[Cl]1.18-1.48)for hospitalization and HR 1.51(95%Cl 1.24-1.84)for admission to *** from male patients at hospital admission had elevated neu.rophil-lymphocyte ratio and elevated expression of inflammatory markers(C-reactive protein and procalcitonin).We fou.d that SARS-CoV-2 entry factors,inclu.ing ACE2,TMPRSS2,Fu.IN,and NRP1,have elevated expression in nasal squ.mou. cells from male individu.ls with moderate and severe *** observed male-biased transcriptional activation in SARS-CoV-2-infected macrophages from BALF and spu.u. samples,which offers potential molecu.ar mechanism for sex-biased su.ceptibility to viral ***-cell interaction network analysis reveals potential epitheliu.-immu.e cell interactions and immu.e vu.nerability u.derlying male-elevated disease severity and mortality in ***,monocyte-elevated expression of Toll-like receptor 7{TLR7)and Bru.on tyrosine kinase{BTK)is associated with severe ou.comes in males with *** su.mary,these findings provide basis to decipher immu.e responses u.derlying sex differences and designing sex-specific targeted interventions and patient care for COVID-19.

煤和含煤岩系中Li是全球Li资源潜在来源之一,引起了国内外高度重视。沁水盆地局部地区煤中Li异常富集,探讨其同位素组成特点与演化有助于深化锂富集分配机制认识。以盆地北部阳泉矿区新景矿8号无烟煤层为研究对象,利用电感耦合等离子体质谱仪(ICP-MS)和X射线衍射仪(XRD)测定Li质量分数和矿物组成,结合逐级化学提取试验,确定煤中Li的赋存状态。利用多接收器电感耦合等离子体质谱仪(MC-ICP-MS),测试煤样和不同赋存状态Li的同位素组成,探讨了煤化作用过程中Li同位素分馏特征。结果表明:煤样Li平均质量分数达138.04μg/g,高于世界硬煤中的平均质量分数(14μg/g);主要载体为高岭石,有少量Li以有机结合态的形式存在;原煤样中δ7Li的均值为-2.13‰,硅酸盐结合态δ7Li的均值为-1.15‰,有机结合态δ7Li均值为-1.53‰,不同赋存状态Li同位素组成相似。研究认为,无烟煤中Li同位素组成趋同机理为:①煤化作用过程中轻的6Li从有机结构中脱除,再次吸附到黏土矿物中,导致煤中有机结合态Li同位素组成变重,硅酸盐结合态Li同位素组成变轻;②在水-岩反应过程中,硅酸盐矿物中重的7Li很容易被溶液萃取,导致硅酸盐结合态中重的7Li流失,Li同位素组成变轻;③煤化作用升温过程有助于Li元素的扩散,促使Li同位素达到动力学分馏平衡。

Tropical fru.t trees constitu.e important biological resou.ces in the global agrobiodiversity context. u.like the tropical fru.t trees of American and Asian origin, indigenou. fru.t trees (IFT) of tropical Africa have scarcely achieved the statu. of international recognition in commodity markets and research arena ou.side Africa. This paper presented a critical review of the statu. of IFT in the Tropical African su.-regions (of West Africa, Central Africa, East Africa, Sou.hern Africa and the Indian Ocean Islands) in relation to the introdu.ed natu.alised fru.t trees from tropical America and Asia, threats to the diversity and su.tainable u.e of IFT, analysis of the opportu.ities and challenges of developing IFT, as well as targets for crop improvement of the rich IFT of Tropical Africa. Domestication programme via relevant vegetative propagation techniqu.s for priority IFT of the su.-regions was examined and advocated, in addition to the adoption of complementary conservation strategies, inclu.ing Field GeneBanks in the management of the continent’s IFT diversity.

The optimu. control of seizu.es requ.res adequ.te dosing of appropriately selected anti-epileptic medications. The availability of AEDs in Nigeria is limited and this constrains the prescription latitu.e of clinicians. This stu.y was condu.ted to describe the prescribing pattern of anti-epileptic dru.s in the ou.patient service of a psychiatric facility in sou.heast Nigeria. The case records of the epileptic patients attending the ou.patient clinic of a psychiatric hospital were retrieved, reviewed and data abstracted with a prepared proforma. The information extracted inclu.e age, sex, marital statu., residence, type of seizu.e and anti-seizu.e medications prescribed, frequ.ncy of administration and dosage among other variables. Of the 178 patients whose prescriptions and case records were assessed, males constitu.ed 62.9% and females 37.1%. Most of the patients were single (78.1%) and the grou. had a mean age of 25.6 ± 10.9 years. Generalized tonic-clonic seizu.es predominated (61.2%) among the seizu.e types, whilst complex partial seizu.e type was identified in 35.4% of the patients. Patient diagnosis relied heavily on the u.e of clinical description alone. Abou. 92.7% of the patients were treated with monotherapy, whereas 7.3% received two anti-epileptic dru. combinations. Carbamazepine was the most frequ.ntly prescribed dru., and was u.ilized in the treatment of 87.9% of patients receiving monotherapy and 92.3% of individu.ls receiving two dru. combinations. Adju.ctive medications like benzodiazepines were rarely u.ilised to improve the effect of the AEDs. The patients that received polytherapy cou.d only be distingu.shed from those that received monotherapy by higher frequ.ncy of epileptic au.as and higher mean dose of AEDs per day. The predominant u.e of monotherapy is in accordance with the treatment recommendations and needs to be encou.aged. The greater u.e of carbamazepine is probably related to its perceived benefits in the control of behaviou.al symptom

With the goal of accelerating the design and discovery of metal–organic frameworks(MOFs)for electronic,optoelectronic,and energy storage applications,we present a dataset of predicted electronic stru.tu.e properties for thou.ands of MOFs carried ou. u.ing mu.tiple density fu.ctional *** to more accu.ate hybrid fu.ctionals,we find that the widely u.ed PBE generalized gradient approximation(GGA)fu.ctional severely u.derpredicts MOF band gaps in a largely systematic manner for semi-condu.tors and insu.ators withou. magnetic ***,an even larger and less predictable disparity in the band gap prediction is present for MOFs with open-shell 3d transition metal *** regards to partial atomic charges,we find that different density fu.ctional approximations predict similar charges overall,althou.h hybrid fu.ctionals tend to shift electron density away from the metal centers and onto the ligand environments compared to the GGA point of *** more significant differences in partial atomic charges are observed when comparing different charge partitioning *** conclu.e by u.ing the dataset of compu.ed MOF properties to train machine-learning models that can rapidly predict MOF band gaps for all fou. density fu.ctional approximations considered in this work,paving the way for fu.u.e high-throu.hpu. screening *** encou.age exploration and reu.e of the theoretical calcu.ations presented in this work,the cu.ated data is made pu.licly available via an interactive and u.er-friendly web application on the Materials Project.

Experiments were performed on spou. characteristics of a cylindrical spou.-flu.dized bed （I.D. = 10 cm） with different static heights and two materials （A1203 and high density polyethylene）. Resu.ts of minimu. spou.ing velocity obtained in this stu.y were compared with reported correlations for both spou.ed and spou.-flu.dized beds. Considerable discrepancies were fou.d between the valu.s obtained u.ing different model equ.tions as well as with respect to experimental resu.ts. Based on the Mathu.-Gishler correlation, a new correlation is proposed for calcu.ating the minimu. spou.ing velocity that introdu.es the ratio u.u.f. It was fou.d that the minimu. spou.ing velocity decreases with increasing flu.dizing gas velocity （u.u.f）. The pressu.e drop at the point of minimu. spou.ing velocity is also correlated u.ing this dimensionless grou. and is presented in this work. This investigation demonstrates that the u.e of correlations reported in the literatu.e that focu. primarily on conical bottom spou.ed beds are not applicable to fiat-bottom spou.ed and spou.-flu.dized beds.
