Energy consumption of 270 schools in Tianjin, China

With the rapid development of education cause, the increasing energy consumption of school buildings is gradually causing widespread concern in recent years in China. This paper presented an analysis of energy consumption of 270 schools located in the city of Tianjin, China. The analysis focused specifically on calculating the space heating energy consumption indexes and non-heating energy consumption indexes of different types of schools, aiming at providing reliable and precise data for the government to elaborate policies and measures. The space heating energy consumption of schools adopting district heating and gas boiler were 92.04 kWh/（m2. a） and 64.25 kWh/（m2. a）, respectively. Comparing to the schools without a canteen, the non-heating energy consumption index of schools with a canteen can increase by 8%-37%. Furthermore, clustering of different energy sources, the total primary energy consumption indexes were also presented. Space heating energy consumption accounted for approximately 64%-79% of the total primary energy consumption. When using time-sharing control and self- contained gas boiler instead of district heating, an amount of almost 27.8 kWh/（mZ-a） and 77.5 kWh/（m2.a） can be saved respectively. Through extensive statistical analysis of the data collected, this paper demonstrated that gross floor area, heating energy source and canteen had a close relationship with the total primary energy consumption regarding complete schools. Eventually, a linear regression equation was established to make a simple prediction about the total energy consumption of existing complete schools and to estimate the energy consumption of complete schools to be built.

Proteins are the key players in many cellular processes. Their composition, trafficking, and interactions underlie the dynamic processes of life. Furthermore, diseases are frequently accompanied by malfunction of proteins at multiple levels. Understanding how biological processes are regulated at the protein level is critically important to understanding the molecular basis for diseases and often shed light on disease prevention, diagnosis, and treatment. With rapid advances in mass spectrometry(MS)instruments and experimental methodologies, MS-based proteomics has become a reliable and essential tool for elucidating biological processes at the protein level. Over the past decade, we have witnessed great expansion of knowledge of human diseases with the application of MS-based proteomic technologies, which has led to many exciting discoveries. Herein we review the recent progress in MS-based proteomics in biomedical research, including that in establishing disease-related proteomes and interactomes. We also discuss how this progress will benefit biomedical research and clinical diagnosis and treatment of disease.

Constructing heterostructures is an important approach to develop high-performance anode materials for sodium ion batteries(SIBs).The abundant phase interfaces provide numerous defects and active sites for rapid electron/ion ***,CoSe_(2)■NC@NC/MoS_(2) heterostructures are prepared through a multi-step reaction strategy,CoSe_(2) nanoparticles served as the coating shells for MoS_(2) cores are anchored in carbon *** core–shell structure effectively buffers the double volume expansion and inhibits the dissolution of MoS_(2) and CoSe_(2) in the *** anodes,the heterostructure delivers a high reversible capacity of 481.6 m Ah g^(-1) at 0.5 A g^(-1) after 100 cycles,superior rate capability(174.5 m Ah g^(-1) at 20.0 A g^(-1)),excellent long-term cycle performance(333.4 m Ah g^(-1) after 2000 cycles at 5.0 A g^(-1)).The DFT calculation proves that the electronic distribution of heterostructures is reconstructed with enhanced *** kinetic analysis,mechanism characterizations and full-cells tests exhibit the synergistic reaction mechanism among different components and practical application *** heterostructure also shows more rapid ions diffusion kinetics than single components.

In this study,we investigate the solar cycle dependence of the sunrise ionospheric zonal electric fields at the equator under geomagnetically quiet *** using the Thermosphere–Ionosphere–Electrodynamics General Circulation Model(TIEGCM)reveal that the equatorial eastward electric field at sunrise decreases with the increase in solar activity,independent of longitude,season,and lower atmospheric *** solar cycle dependence of the sunrise zonal electric field is mainly related to the zonal wind ***,this solar cycle dependence of sunrise electric fields at the equator is dominated by the corresponding variation in the F-region dynamo because the response of conductivity and neutral winds near sunrise to increasing solar flux is stronger in the F-region than in the E-region,although the sunrise eastward enhancement of electric fields is mainly driven by the E-region zonal wind ***,the westward gradient of low-latitude F-region neutral winds near the dawn terminator tends to produce westward electric fields in the equatorial region that are more pronounced at solar maximum,whereas the midlatitude E-region dynamo induces an eastward enhancement of sunrise electric fields at the equator that decreases slightly with increasing solar *** study also reveals that the reason the eastward enhancement of equatorial zonal electric fields near dawn and dusk terminators show opposite solar cycle dependence is because of their different generation mechanisms.

Ethane chemical looping oxidative dehydrogenation(CL-ODH)to ethylene is a new technology for ethylene ***_(2)O_(3)/MgO oxygen carrier was prepared using the co-precipitation *** influence of added NiO and its different loadings on Fe_(2)O_(3)/MgO were ***,a series of oxygen carriers were applied in the CL-ODH of the ethane cycle ***-Emmett-Teller(BET),X-ray diffractometry(XRD),X-ray photoelection spectroscopy(XPS),and H2-temperature programmed reduction(TPR)were used to characterize the physicochemical properties of these oxygen *** was confirmed that an interaction between NiO and Fe_(2)O_(3) occurred based on the XPS and H2-TPR *** on the CL-ODH activity performance tests conducted in a fixed-bed reactor,it was revealed that ethylene selectivity was significantly improved after NiO ***_(2)O_(3)-10%NiO/MgO showed the best activity performance with 93%ethane conversion and 50%ethylene selectivity at a reaction temperature of 650℃,atmospheric pressure,and space velocity of 7500 mL/(g·h).

Evaluating Performance of Different RNA Secondary Structure Prediction Programs Using Self-cleaving Ribozymes

Accurate identification of the correct,biologically relevant RNA structures is critical to understanding various aspects of RNA biology since proper folding represents the key to the functionality of all types of RNA molecules and plays pivotal roles in many essential biological ***,a plethora of approaches have been developed to predict,identify,or solve RNA structures based on various computational,molecular,genetic,chemical,or physicochemical *** computational approaches hold distinct advantages over all other strategies in terms of the ease of implementation,time,speed,cost,and throughput,but they strongly underperform in terms of accuracy that significantly limits their broader ***,the advantages of these methods led to a steady development of multiple in silico RNA secondary structure prediction approaches including recent deep learning-based ***,we compared the accuracy of predictions of biologically relevant secondary structures of dozens of self-cleaving ribozyme sequences using seven in silico RNA folding prediction tools with tasks of varying *** found that while many programs performed well in relatively simple tasks,their performance varied significantly in more complex RNA folding ***,in general,a modern deep learning method outperformed the other programs in the complex tasks in predicting the RNA secondary structures,at least based on the specific class of sequences tested,suggesting that it may represent the future of RNA structure prediction algorithms.

Resting-state functional connectivity abnormalities in first-onset unmedicated depression

Depression is closely linked to the morphology and functional abnormalities of multiple brain regions; however, its topological structure throughout the whole brain remains unclear. We col- lected resting-state functional MRI data from 36 first-onset unmedicated depression patients and 27 healthy controls. The resting-state functional connectivity was constructed using the Auto- mated Anatomical Labeling template with a partial correlation method. The metrics calculation and statistical analysis were performed using complex network theory. The results showed that both depressive patients and healthy controls presented typical small-world attributes. Compared with healthy controls, characteristic path length was significantly shorter in depressive patients, suggesting development toward randomization. Patients with depression showed apparently abnormal node attributes at key areas in cortical-striatal-pallidal-thalamic circuits. In addition, right hippocampus and right thalamus were closely linked with the severity of depression. We se- lected 270 local attributes as the classification features and their P values were regarded as criteria for statistically significant differences. An artificial neural network algorithm was applied for classification research. The results showed that brain network metrics could be used as an effec- tive feature in machine learning research, which brings about a reasonable application prospect for brain network metrics. The present study also highlighted a significant positive correlation between the importance of the attributes and the intergroup differences; that is, the more sig- nificant the differences in node attributes, the stronger their contribution to the classification. Experimental findings indicate that statistical significance is an effective quantitative indicator of the selection of brain network metrics and can assist the clinical diagnosis of depression.

A General Authentication and Key Agreement Framework for Industrial Control System

In modern industrial control systems(ICSs), when user retrieving the data stored in field device like smart sensor, there exists two main problems: one is lack of the verification for identification of user and field device;the other is that user and field device need exchange a key to encrypt sensitive data transmitted over the *** propose a comprehensive authentication and key agreement framework that enables all connected devices in an ICS to mutually authenticate each other and establish a peer-to-peer session key. The framework combines two types of protocols for authentication and session key agreement: The first one is an asymmetric cryptographic key agreement protocol based on transport layer security handshake protocol used for Internet access, while the second one is a newly designed lightweight symmetric cryptographic key agreement protocol specifically for field devices. This proposed lightweight protocol imposes very light computational load and merely employs simple operations like one-way hash function and exclusive-or(XOR) operation. In comparison to other lightweight protocols, our protocol requires the field device to perform fewer computational operations during the authentication phase. The simulation results obtained using Open SSL demonstrates that each authentication and key agreement process in the lightweight protocol requires only 0.005 ms. Our lightweight key agreement protocol satisfies several essential security features, including session key secrecy, identity anonymity, untraceability, integrity, forward secrecy, and mutual authentication. It is capable of resisting impersonation, man-in-the-middle, and replay attacks. We have employed the Gong-NeedhamYahalom(GNY) logic and automated validation of Internet security protocols and application tool to verify the security of our symmetric cryptographic key agreement protocol.
