Porous 2D materials with high conductivity and large surface area have been proposed for potential electromagnetic interference(EMI)shielding materials in future mobility and wearable applications to prevent signal noise,transmission inaccuracy,system malfunction,and health ***,we report on the synthesis of lightweight and flexible flash-induced porous graphene(FPG)with excellent EMI shielding *** broad spectrum of pulsed flashlight induces photo-chemical and photo-thermal reactions in polyimide films,forming 5×10 cm^(2)-size porous graphene with a hollow pillar structure in a few *** resulting material demonstrated low density(0.0354 g cm^(−3))and outstanding absolute EMI shielding effectiveness of 1.12×10^(5) dB cm^(2) g^(−1).The FPG was characterized via thorough material analyses,and its mechanical durability and flexibility were confirmed by a bending cycle ***,the FPG was utilized in drone and wearable applications,showing effective EMI shielding performance for internal/external EMI in a drone radar system and reducing the specific absorption rate in the human body.

Domain-engineered BiFeO3 thin-film photoanodes for highly enhanced ferroelectric solar water splitting

In photoelectrochemical （PEC） water splitting, charge separation and collection by the electric field in the photoactive material are the most important factors for improved conversion efficiency. Hence, ferroelectric oxides, in which electrons are the majority carriers, are considered promising photoanode materials because their high built-in potential, provided by their spontaneous polarization, can signifi＇canfly enhance the separation and drift of photogenerated carriers. In this regard, the PEC properties of BiFeO3 thin-film photoanodes with different crystallographic orientations and consequent ferroelectric domain structures are investigated. As the crystallographic orientation changes from （001）pc via （ll0）pc to （lll）p~, the ferroelastic domains in epitaxial BiFeO3 thin films become mono-variant and the spontaneous polarization levels increase to 110 btC/cm2. Consequent136 the photocurrent density at 0 V vs. Ag/AgC1 increases approximately 5.3-fold and the onset potential decreases by 0.180 V in the downward polarization state. It is further demonstrated that ferroelectric switching in the （lll）pc BiFeO3 thin-film photoanode leads to an approximate change of 8,000% in the photocurrent density and a 0.330 V shift in the onset potential. This study strongly suggests that domain-engineered ferroelectric materials can be used as effective charge separation and collection layers for efficient solar water-splitting photoanodes.

AIM: To confirm the changes in proteins related with hypoxia-induced retinal cell death and to assess the effects of resveratrol(Res).METHODS: The therapeutic effect of Res was verified using an ischemic/reperfusion(I/R) model in vivo and a hypoxia modelin retinal ganglion cells(RGCs) in *** of RGCs were confirmed by TUNEL *** expression was confirmed by Western blotting and *** addition, flow cytometric analysis was used to confirm the response in the cell unit to obtain more accurate ***: ErbB2 expression and apoptosis in the ganglion cell layer(GCL) increased after I/R *** of Res rescued I/R-induced ganglion cell death, downregulated apoptosis and ErbB2 protein expression in the *** subsequent in vitro models, Res affects apoptosis by regulating the phosphorylation and expression of mouse double minute 2 homolog(MDM2), along with those of *** results suggest that Res reverses GCL-specific apoptosis via downregulation of ErbB2 in ischemic ***: In light of Res favorable properties, it should be evaluated in the treatment of RGC death and related retinal disease characterized by ErbB2 and MDM2 ***, Res is appropriate therapeutic agent for treating ischemic injury-related eye diseases by targeting the expression of ErbB2 and MDM2.

Endoscopic submucosal dissection as alternative to surgery for complicated gastric heterotopic pancreas

Elevating the charge cut-off voltage beyond traditional 4.2 V is a commonly accepted technology to increase the energy density of Li-ion batteries(LIBs) but the risk of Li-dendrites and fire hazard increases as well. The use of ambi-functional additive, which forms stable solid electrolyte interphase(SEI) simultaneously at both cathode and anode, is a key to enabling a dendrites-free and well-working high-voltage LIB. Herein, a novel ambi-functional additive, pentaerythritol disulfate(PEDS), at 1 wt% without any other additive is demonstrated. We show the feasibility and high impacts of PEDS in forming lithium sulfateincorporated robust SEI layers at NCM523 cathode and graphite anode in 1 Ah-level pouch cell under4.4 V, 25 °C and 0.1 C rate, which mitigates the high-voltage instability, metal-dissolution and cracks on NCM523 particles, and prevents Li-dendrites at graphite anode. Improved capacity retention of 83%after 300 cycles is thereby achieved, with respect to 69% with base electrolyte, offering a promising path toward the design of practical high-energy LIBs.

Objective:To isolate and identify the anticancer compound against proliferation of human colon cancer cells from ethyl acetate(EtOAc)extract ol Phellinus linteus grown on germinated brown rice(PB).Methods:EtOAc extract of PB was partitioned with n-hexane,EtOAc,and water-saturated *** compound of n-hexane layer was isolated and identified by HPLC and NMR,*** against HT-29 cells was tested by SRB ***:The n-hexane layer obtained after solvent fractionation of PB EtOAc extracts showed a potent anticancer activity against the HT-29 cell *** I,a eudesmane-type sesquiterpene lactone,a major anticancer substance of PB,was isolated from the n-hexane layer by silica gel column chromatography and *** structure was elucidated by one-and two-dimensional NMR spectroscopic *** I has not been reported in mushrooms or rice as of *** isolated compound dose-dependently inhibited the growth of HT-29 human colon cancer ***:Atractylenolide I might contribute to the anticancer effect of PB.

Monsoonal precipitation variation in the East Asia since A.D. 1840 ——Tree-ring evidences from China and Korea

Three tree-ring rainfall reconstructions from China and Korea are used in this paper to investigate the East Asian summer monsoon-related precipitation variation over the past 160 years. Statistically, there is no linear correlation on a year-by-year basis between Chinese and Korean monsoon rainfall, but region-wide synchronous variation on a decadal-scale was observed. More rainfall intervals were 1860-1890, 1910-1925, and 1940-1960, and dry or even drought peri-ods were 1890-1910, 1925-1940, and 1960-present. Reconstructions also display that the East Asian summer monsoon precipitation suddenly changed from more into less around mid-1920. These tree-ring precipitation records were also confirmed by Chinese historical dry-ness/wetness index and Korean historical rain gauge data.

Effect of focal laser photocoagulation in eyes with mild to moderate non-proliferative diabetic retinopathy

AIM：To report the effect of focal laser photocoagulation on both the severity of hard exudates（HEs） and the rate of disease progression in eyes with mild to moderate non-proliferative diabetic retinopathy（NPDR）.METHODS： We retrospectively reviewed the medical records of 33 patients（60 eyes） who had been diagnosed with mild to moderate NPDR between January 2006 and December *** patients were divided into 2 groups：Group A（38 eyes in 20 patients treated using focal laser photocoagulation） and Group B（treated without laser photocoagulation）.We also reviewed the best corrected visual acuity measurements,and the fundus photographs taken at both baseline and follow-up visits. RESULTS： In Group A,HE severity grade had decreased significantly from baseline to the final visit（P 〈0.05）,but this was not the case in Group B（P =0.662）.The cumulative probabilities of retinopathy progression at 5y were 26% in Group A and 30% in Group *** survival curves showed no significant difference between the groups with regard to retinopathy progression（P =0.805）.CONCLUSION： Focal laser photocoagulation reduced the levels of HEs in eyes with mild to moderate ***,the treatment was not able to decelerate the progression of DR.

Clinical features of second primary cancers arising in earlygastric cancer patients after endoscopic resection

AIM: To investigate the incidence and distribution of second primary cancers(SPCs) in early gastric cancer(EGC) patients who underwent endoscopic resection(ER), compared to advanced gastric cancer(AGC) patients who underwent ***: The medical records of 1021 gastric cancer(GC) patients were retrospectively reviewed from January 2006 to December 2010. The characteristics and incidence of SPCs were investigated in those with EGC that underwent curative ER(the EGC group) and those with AGC who underwent curative surgical resection(the AGC group).RESULTS: We ultimately enrolled 184 patients in the EGC group and 229 patients in the AGC group. A total of 38 of the 413(9.2%) GC patients had SPCs; the rate was identical in both groups. Of these 38 patients, 18 had synchronous and 20 had metachronous cancers. The most common SPC was lung cancer(18.4%), followed by colorectal cancer(13.2%) and esophageal cancer(13.2%). No significant risk factors were identified for the development of ***: Endoscopists should provide close surveillance and establish follow-up programs to ensure SPC detection in GC patients undergoing curativeresection regardless of their clinical characteristics.

＜正＞To find out the nature of incidental single pelvic lesion on F-18 FDG PET scan in women of childbearing ***:Three women who had a single round hypermetabolic lesion in the pelvic cavity on FDG PET were further investigated. The purposes of PET scan were routine follow up of breast cancer after surgery and adjuvant chemotherapy for a patient （Fig 1）, and cancer screening for two women. The ages were 39, 45, and 48 years old respectively. The last menstrual periods （LMP） were 21, 22 and 24 days before PET examinations. The size and peak SUVs （standard uptake values） of lesions are listed on table 1. Results: The lesion in pelvic cavity disappeared in a patients with breast cancer on a follow up PET scan 2 months and 1 week later. The lesions in two women were proved to be corpus luteum cysts on MRI examination on the same day of PET examination. Conclusion: Single pelvic lesion in women of childbearing age should be ruled out a normal corpus luteum cyst. Also, schedule of PET imaging should be adjusted according to her menstrual period.
