BACKGROUND Acute appendicitis is the most common abdominal *** present,the main treatments for periappendiceal abscess include antibiotics and ***,the complications and mortality of emergency surgery are *** preferred therapy is conservative treatment with antibiotics first,ultrasound-guided puncture drainage or surgical treatment is followed when *** retrograde appendicitis therapy(ERAT)for acute uncomplicated appendicitis have been proved clinically effective,but it is rarely used in periap-pendiceal *** SUMMARY We report a patient admitted to hospital because of“right lower abdominal pain for six days”.The computerized tomography(CT)of patient showed that appendicitis with fecaliths and abscess in the *** patient was treated by CT-guided puncture and drainage of abdominal abscess combined with ERAT to remove appendiceal fecaliths,irrigation and stent *** The patient did not receive surgery because of impoverished *** pain did not recur during the follow-up *** case confirms the value of ERAT in the treatment of periappendiceal abscess.

Let D = （V, E） be a primitive digraph. The vertex exponent of D at a vertex v∈ V, denoted by expD（v）, is the least integer p such that there is a v →u walk of length p for each u ∈ V. Following Brualdi and liu, we order the vertices of D so that exPD（V1） ≤ exPD（V2） …≤ exPD（Vn）. Then exPD（Vk） is called the k- point exponent of D and is denoted by exPD （k）, 1≤ k ≤ n. In this paper we define e（n, k）：= max{expD （k）｜ D ∈ PD（n, 2）} and E（n, k）：= {exPD（k）｜ D ∈ PD（n, 2）}, where PD（n, 2） is the set of all primitive digraphs of order n with girth 2. We completely determine e（n, k） and E（n, k） for all n, k with n ≥ 3 and 1 ≤ k ≤ n.

This study presents and verifies a new idea for constructing a rotary traveling wave ultrasonic motor （USM） that uses the radial bending mode of a ring. In the new design, 20 trapezoid cross section slots are cut symmetrically in the outer surface of a thick duralumin alloy ring, where 20 PZT stacks are nested. In each slot, two wedging blocks are set between the PZT stack and the two sides of the slot respectively to apply preloading on the PZT ceramics. Two radial bending modes of the stator that have a phase difference of a quarter wavelength on space are generated by using the d33 operating mode of the PZT elements, and then a flexural traveling wave is formed by the superimposing of two standing waves whose amplitudes are equal and phases are different by 90~ temporally. Two conical rotors are pressed to each end of the ring type stator by a coiled spring. The finite element method （FEM） simulation is developed to validate the feasibility of the proposed motor. The maximal speed and torque of the prototype are tested to be 126 r/rain and 0.8 N＇m, respectively.

The information transmission path optimization(ITPO) can often a ect the e ciency and accuracy of remanufactur?ing service. However, there is a greater degree of uncertainty and complexity in information transmission of remanu?facturing service system, which leads to a critical need for designing planning models to deal with this added uncer?tainty and complexity. In this paper, a three?dimensional(3D) model of remanufacturing service information network for information transmission is developed, which combines the physic coordinate and the transmitted properties of all the devices in the remanufacturing service system. In order to solve the basic ITPO in the 3D model, an improved 3D ant colony algorithm(Improved AC) was put forward. Moreover, to further improve the operation e ciency of the algorithm, an improved ant colony?genetic algorithm(AC?GA) that combines the improved AC and genetic algorithm was developed. In addition, by taking the transmission of remanufacturing service demand information of certain roller as example, the e ectiveness of AC?GA algorithm was analyzed and compared with that of improved AC, and the results demonstrated that AC?GA algorithm was superior to AC algorithm in aspects of information transmission delay, information transmission cost, and rate of information loss.

Target tracking is one of the most important applications of wireless sensor networks. Optimized computation and energy dissipation are critical requirements to save the limited resource of sensor nodes. A new robust and energy-efficient collaborative target tracking framework is proposed in this article. After a target is detected, only one active cluster is responsible for the tracking task at each time step. The tracking algorithm is distributed by passing the sensing and computation operations from one cluster to another. An event-driven cluster reforming scheme is also proposed for balancing energy consumption among nodes. Observations from three cluster members are chosen and a new class of particle filter termed cost-reference particle filter （CRPF） is introduced to estimate the target motion at the cluster head. This CRPF method is quite robust for wireless sensor network tracking applications because it drops the strong assumptions of knowing the probability distributions of the system process and observation noises. In simulation experiments, the performance of the proposed collaborative target tracking algorithm is evaluated by the metrics of tracking precision and network energy consumption.

Effect of soil set-up on the capacity of jacked concrete pipe piles in mixed soils

The increase in capacity of displacement piles with time after installation is typically known as soil/pile set-up. A full-scale field test is carried out to observe the set-up effect for open-ended concrete pipe piles jacked into mixed soils. Both the total capacity and the average unit shaft resistance increase approximately linearly with logarithmic time. The average increase rate for unit shaft resistance is 44% per log cycle, while the average increase for total capacity is approximately 21%. A review on case histories for long-term set-up indicates an average set-up rate of approximately 40%. Based on this, the mechanism of pile set-up is discussed in detail and a three-phase model is suggested.

Situs inversus （SI） is a congenital anomaly characterized by the mirror-image orientation of the inner organs. The estimated incidence of SI is 1/15 000 to 1/10 000 live births. The disease is often complicated with biliary atresia, polysplenia, intestinal nonrotation, preduodenal portal vein, aberrant hepatic artery, or absence of the suprarenal inferior vena cava. In 2004, we performed a liver transplantation on a patient with SI complicated with hepatolithiasis, end-stage liver cirrhosis and liver failure, because of the unavailability of donor organs, the operation became more complicated and difficult.

To get a better understanding of the influence of rare-earth element doping,CaCu3Ti4O12（CCTO） samples with a partial substitution of Ca with Eu with different compensation mechanisms were designed and prepared by solid-state *** the ceramics were single phase,while the dielectric constants and thermally activated energy values for dielectric relaxation in Eu-doped ceramics were both lower than those of ***（0.875）Eu（0.1）Cu3Ti4O12（CECT1）exhibited a slight decrease in both the permittivity and electric resistance of grain boundaries compared with CCTO,while Ca（0.85）Eu（0.1）Cu3Ti4O12（CECT2） underwent a sharp decrease in permittivity associated with an abnormally large *** different dielectric behavior indicates that the dielectric properties of CCTO are sensitive to the valence states of cations and *** variation of permittivity is related to the localization of carriers,which,according to the XPS results,should be caused by the presence of oxygen *** formation of defect complexes between cations and oxygen vacancies leads to the increase in resistance and prevents the hopping between Cu^＋ and Cu^2＋,which is an important source of the polarization in grain boundaries.

Application of Endoscopic Vein Harvesting in Obese Patients Undergoing Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting

This study aims to evaluate the clinical outcomes of endoscopic vein harvesting （EVH） for coronary artery bypass grafting （CABG） in obese patients. Totally, 153 obese patients who underwent EVH （n=81） or standard bridging technique （SBT, n=72） in CABG surgery from May 2012 to October 2014 in our hospital were enrolled in this retrospective non-randomized controlled study. The general situation of operation, postoperative complications and short medium-term outcomes were analyzed. The baseline characteristics were similar between these two groups （P〉0.05）. There were no statistical differences in total operation time （226±28 min vs. 224±30 min, P〉0.05）, number of damaged vessels （0.12±0.05 vs. 0.16±0.06, P〉0.05） and short medium-term outcomes including revascularization rate （1.25% vs. 2.78%, P〉0.05）, vessel dysfunction rate （11.25% vs. 11.11%, P〉0.05） and mortality （0.00% vs. 0.00%, P〉0.05）. Use of EVH was associated with significant reduction of total harvesting time （41±6 min vs. 63±11 min, P〈0.05）, incision length （4.4±1.1 cm vs. 18.2±4.5 cm, P〈0.05） and postoperative lower extremity complications （P〈0.05）. EVH can reduce the risk of wound complications, whereas does not influence short- and medium-term outcomes in obese patients. It can be considered a reliable procedure of harvesting vessel conduits for obese patients undergoing CABG.
