A defective iron-based perovskite cathode for high-performance IT-SOFCs:Tailoring the oxygen vacancies using Nb/Ta co-doping

The sluggish kinetics of the electrochemical oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)in intermediatetemperature solid oxide fuel cells(IT-SOFCs)greatly limits the overall cell *** this study,an efficient and durable cathode material for IT-SOFCs is designed based on density functional theory(DFT)calculations by co-doping with Nb and Ta the B-site of the SrFeO_(3-δ)perovskite *** DFT calculations suggest that Nb/Ta co-doping can regulate the energy band of the parent SrFeO_(3-δ)and help electron *** symmetrical cells,such cathode with a SrFe_(0.8)Nb_(0.1)Ta_(0.1)O_(3-δ)(SFNT)detailed formula achieves a low cathode polarization resistance of 0.147Ωcm^(2) at 650℃.Electron spin resonance(ESR)and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)analysis confirm that the co-doping of Nb/Ta in SrFeO_(3-δ)B-site increases the balanced concentration of oxygen vacancies,enhancing the electrochemical performance when compared to 20 mol%Nb single-doped perovskite *** cathode button cell with NiSDC|SDC|SFNT configuration achieves an outstanding peak power density of 1.3 W cm^(-2)at 650℃.Moreover,the button cell shows durability for 110 h under 0.65 V at 600℃ using wet H_(2) as fuel.

Opportunity to harmonize aspects of oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)performance and structure,and morphology,as well as composition,is urgent for the commercialization of proton exchange membrane fuel ***,we demonstrate the design and synthesis of a functionalized-supported-Pt catalyst(Pt@HNC)featuring a hollow nitrogen-modified dodecahedral carbon substrate obtained by a stress-induced-shrink tailoring *** as-obtained Pt@HNC catalyst possesses enhanced ORR per-formance,in particular with half-wave potential,mass activity(MA)and specific activity,which greatly exceed the commercial Pt/*** density functional theory(DFT)calculations further confirmed that the charge redistribution induced by the electronegativity differences improved the electron interaction between Pt and HNC *** optimized electronic structure of Pt weakens the reaction energy barrier on the Pt@HNC surface and adsorption of^(*)OH species,thus cooperatively improving the intrinsic activity toward ***,our work indeed provides a guide for the future design of functional nanomaterials in the field of catalysts and clean energy.

Effect of strain-induced precipitation on microstructure and properties of titanium micro-alloyed steels

The strain-induced precipitation behavior of titanium micro-alloyed steel was examined through the stress relaxation *** addition,the relationship between strain-induced precipitation and isothermal precipitation was *** findings revealed that the strain-induced precipitation and recrystallization processes of titanium micro-alloyed steel coexist and compete at the same *** results also showed that the recrystallization process was inhibited with straininduced ***,a large amount of nano-sized TiC particles precipitated in Ti micro-alloyed ***,the strain-induced precipitated TiC had a size of 10 nm and isothermally precipitated TiC had a size of 3–6 ***,there was a clear competitive relationship between strain-induced precipitation and isothermal *** findings also showed that strain-induced precipitation had an obvious effect on the refinement of austenite although the effect was not obvious on the increase in the yield ***,isothermal treatment was shown to be more advantageous than strain-induced ***,the major increase in the yield strength was mainly attributed to the precipitation strengthening of nano-sized TiC during isothermal precipitation.

In-situ construction of Li4Ti5O12/rutile TiO2 heterostructured nanorods for robust and high-power lithium storage

Li4Ti5O12 is considered as a safe and stable anode material for high-power lithium-ion batteries due to its“zero-strain”characteristic during the charge/***,the intrinsically low electronic conductivity leads to a deterioration in highrate performance,impeding its intensive ***,the Li4Ti5O12/rutile TiO2(LTO/RT)heterostructured nanorods with tunable oxide phases have been in-situ fabricated by annealing the electrospun nanofiber *** constructing such a heterostructured interface,the as-prepared sample delivers a high capacity of 160.3 mAh·g–1 at 1 C after 200 cycles,125.5 mAh·g–1 at 10 C after 500 cycles and a superior capacity retention of 90.3%after 1,000 cycles at 30 C,outperforming the heterostructure-free counterparts of pure LTO,RT and the commercial LTO *** Functional Theory calculation suggests a possible synergistic effect of the LTO/RT interface that would improve the electronic conductivity and Li-ion diffusion.

Tailoring the interactions of heterostructured Ni_(4)N/Ni_(3)ZnC_(0.7)for efficient CO_(2)electroreduction

Electrocatalytic CO_(2)reduction into CO has been regarded as one of the most promising strategies for sustainable carbon cycles at ambient conditions,but still faces challenges to achieve both high product selectivity and large current ***,we report a Ni_(4)N/Ni_(3)ZnC_(0.7)heterostructured electrocatalyst embedded in accordion-like N-doped carbon through a simple molten salt annealing *** optimal Ni_(4)N/Ni_(3)ZnC_(0.7)electrocatalyst achieves a high CO Faraday efficiency of 92.3%and a large total current density of-15.8 m A cm^(-2)at-0.8 V versus reversible hydrogen electrode,together with a long-term stability about 30 *** functional theory results reveal that the energy barrier for*COOH intermediate formation largely decreased on Ni_(4)N/Ni_(3)ZnC_(0.7)heterostructure compared with Ni_(4)N and Ni_(3)ZnC_(0.7),thus giving rise to enhanced activity and selectivity.A rechargeable Zn-CO_(2)battery is further assembled with Ni_(4)N/Ni_(3)ZnC_(0.7)catalyst as the cathode,which shows a maximum power density of 0.85 mW cm^(-2)and excellent stability.

Research on high energy efficiency and low bit-width floating-point type data for abnormal object detection of transmission lines

Achieving a balance between accuracy and efficiency in target detection applications is an important research *** detect abnormal targets on power transmission lines at the power edge,this paper proposes an effective method for reducing the data bit width of the network for floating-point *** performing exponent prealignment and mantissa shifting operations,this method avoids the frequent alignment operations of standard floating-point data,thereby further reducing the exponent and mantissa bit width input into the training *** enables training low-data-bit width models with low hardware-resource consumption while maintaining *** tests were conducted on a dataset of real-world images of abnormal targets on transmission *** results indicate that while maintaining accuracy at a basic level,the proposed method can significantly reduce the data bit width compared with single-precision *** suggests that the proposed method has a marked ability to enhance the real-time detection of abnormal targets in transmission ***,a qualitative analysis indicated that the proposed quantization method is particularly suitable for hardware architectures that integrate storage and computation and exhibit good transferability.

Experimental and numerical investigation of the impacts of rotor tip-rake on excitation forces of pump-jet propulsors

The tip-clearance flow in a pump-jet propulsor exerts great impacts on the fluctuating pressures and resultant unsteady forces,which are important sources of structural vibrations and radiated noise *** blade geometry close to the tip is an important factor determining the vortex strength in the tip-clearance *** the open-water condition,the effects of raking the rotor tips on the duct-surface fluctuating pressures and the resultant unsteady forces acting on different components of the propulsor are investigated via physical model experiments and the numerical solution of Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes(RANS)equations coupled with the SST k-ωturbulence *** measured and simulated results of hydrodynamic pressures are consistent to each other,and the simulated flows help better understand why the fluctuating pressures change with the tip *** strong fluctuations of duct-surface pressures are caused by intensive tip separation *** duct-surface pressure fluctuations are effectively reduced by using the rake distribution near the tip towards blade back side and,for the combination of the five-bladed rotor and the seven-bladed stator,the resultant unsteady horizontal(and vertical)forces acting on the duct and stator are also reduced;while increasing rake leads to negative effect on pressure fluctuations and unsteady horizontal(and vertical)forces acting on all the components of the propulsor.

PtZn nanoparticles supported on porous nitrogen-doped carbon nanofibers as highly stable electrocatalysts for oxygen reduction reaction

The oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)electrocatalytic activity of Pt-based catalysts can be significantly improved by supporting Pt and its alloy nanoparticles(NPs)on a porous carbon support with large surface ***,such catalysts are often obtained by constructing porous carbon support followed by depositing Pt and its alloy NPs inside the pores,in which the migration and agglomeration of Pt NPs are inevitable under harsh operating conditions owing to the relatively weak interaction between NPs and carbon *** we develop a facile electrospinning strategy to in-situ prepare small-sized PtZn NPs supported on porous nitrogen-doped carbon *** results demonstrate that the as-prepared PtZn alloy catalyst exhibits excellent initial ORR activity with a half-wave potential(E_(1/2))of 0.911 V versus reversible hydrogen electrode(***)and enhanced durability with only decreasing 11 mV after 30,000 potential cycles,compared to a more significant drop of 24 mV in E_(1/2)of Pt/C catalysts(after 10,000 potential cycling).Such a desirable performance is ascribed to the created triple-phase reaction boundary assisted by the evaporation of Zn and strengthened interaction between nanoparticles and the carbon support,inhibiting the migration and aggregation of NPs during the ORR.

Full laparoscopic liver resection has been performed widely since it was introduced in the early *** has been expanded from initial for partial resection of the anterolateral segments to non-restriction of area of the liver[1–3].Anatomical liver resec-tion is considered to have potential superiority than non-anatomic resection in terms of tumor prognosis,thus it is more often rec-ommended in the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma[4,5].Recently,laparoscopic segmental liver resection according to the Couinaud classification has been widely performed due to its ad-vantages in minimal invasiveness and tumor prognosis.
