Through in situ redox deposition and growth of MnO2 nanostructures on hierarchically porous carbon （HPC）, a MnOR/HPC hybrid has been synthesized and employed as cathode catalyst for non-aqueous Li-O2 batteries. Owing to the mild synthetic conditions, MnO2 was uniformly distributed on the surface of the carbon support, without destroying the hierarchical porous nanostructure. As a result, the as-prepared MnO2/HPC nanocomposite exhibits excellent Li-O2 battery performance, including low charge overpotential, good rate capacity and long cycle stability up to 300 cycles with controlling capacity of 1,000 mAh·g^-1. A combination of the multi-scale porous network of the shell-connected carbon support and the highly dispersed MnO2 nanostructure benefits the transportation of ions, oxygen and electrons and contributes to the excellent electrode performance.

Background:humoral and cellular immune responses play protective roles against Mycobacterium tuberculosis(MTB)***,hookworm infection decreases the immune response to hookworm and bystander ***,immune responses to co-infection of MTB and hookworm are still unknown,although co-infection has been one of the public health problems in co-endemic areas of pulmonary tuberculosis(PTB)and hookworm ***,it is essential to evaluate B and T cell immune responses to the ***:Seventeen PTB cases co-infected with hookworm,26 PTB cases,15 patients with hookworm infection,and 24 healthy controls without PTB or hookworm infection were enrolled in the *** of CD3,CD4,CD8,CD10,CD19,CD20,CD21,CD25,CD27,CD38,FoxP3,and PD-1 were assessed on B and T cell subsets using multicolor flow ***:For the B cell(CD19+)subsets,naïve B cells(CD10−CD27−CD21+CD20+),plasma cells(CD10−CD27+CD21−CD20−),and tissue-like memory B cells(CD10−CD27−CD21−CD20+)had higher proportions,whilst resting memory B cells(CD10−CD27+CD21+CD20+)had lower proportions in the group co-infected with MTB and hookworm as compared to other *** of activated memory B cells(CD10−CD27+CD21−CD20+)did not differ among the four *** the T cell(CD3+)subsets,frequencies of regulatory T cells(CD4+CD25+Foxp3+)and exhausted CD4+and CD8+T cells(CD4+PD-1+and CD8+PD-1+)were higher,and frequencies of activated CD4+and CD8+T cells(CD4+CD38+and CD8+CD38+)were lower in the co-infected group as compared to the other ***:The change patterns of the cell profile of circulating lymphocytes were indentified in human co-infection of MTB and hookworm,which might indicate that the humoral and cellular immune responses are more suppressed.

Predicting the displacement of landslide is of utmost practical importance as the landslide can pose serious threats to both human life and ***,traditional methods have the limitation of random selection in sliding window selection and seldom incorporate weather forecast data for displacement prediction,while a single structural model cannot handle input sequences of different lengths at the same *** order to solve these limitations,in this study,a new approach is proposed that utilizes weather forecast data and incorporates the maximum information coefficient(MIC),long short-term memory network(LSTM),and attention mechanism to establish a teacher-student coupling model with parallel structure for short-term landslide displacement *** MIC,a suitable input sequence length is selected for the LSTM *** investigate the influence of rainfall on landslides during different seasons,a parallel teacher-student coupling model is developed that is able to learn sequential information from various time series of different *** teacher model learns sequence information from rainfall intensity time series while incorporating reliable short-term weather forecast data from platforms such as China Meteorological Administration(CMA)and Reliable Prognosis(https://***)to improve the model’s expression capability,and the student model learns sequence information from other time *** attention module is then designed to integrate different sequence information to derive a context vector,representing seasonal temporal attention ***,the predicted displacement is obtained through a linear *** proposed method demonstrates superior prediction accuracies,surpassing those of the support vector machine(SVM),LSTM,recurrent neural network(RNN),temporal convolutional network(TCN),and LSTM-Attention *** achieves a mean absolute error(MAE)of 0.072 mm,root mean square error(RMSE)of 0.096 mm,and pearson correlation coefficients(PC

Tunnelling has increasingly become an essential tool in the exploration of underground space.A typical construction problem is the face instability during tunnelling,posing a great threat to associated *** face instability often occurs with the soil arching *** study investigates the combined effect of cutterhead opening ratio and soil non-uniformity on soil arching effect and face stability,via conducting random finite-element analysis coupled with Monte–Carlo *** results underscore that the face stability is strongly associated with the evolution of stress *** obtained stability factors in the uniform soils can serve as a reference for the design of support pressure in practical tunnelling *** addition,non-uniform soils exhibit a lower stability factor than uniform soils,which implies that the latter likely yields an underestimated probability of face *** tunnel face is found to have a probability of failure more than 50%if the spatial non-uniformity of soil is *** the end,a practical framework is established to determine factor of safety(FOS)corresponding to different levels of probability of face failure considering various opening ratios in non-uniform *** required FOS is 1.70 to limit the probability of face instability no more than 0.1%.Our findings can facilitate the prediction of probability of instability in the conventionally deterministic design of face pressure.

CRISPR/Cas9 technology is a powerful genome manipulation tool in ***,little is known about whether mRNA and protein of a target gene are completely cleared in homozygous *** study generated homozygous mutants of the insulin receptor gene 2(NlInR2)in the brown planthopper(Nilaparvata lugens)using CRISPR/Cas9 genome *** frameshift mutants,E5_D17 and E6_I7,differentiated towards long wings,but there were differences in wing morphology,with E5_D17 showing wing *** investigations revealed the presence of residual expression of NlInR2 mRNA in both mutants,as well as the occurrence of spliceosomes featuring exon skipping splicing in E5_***,the E5_D17 exhibited the detection of N-terminally truncated NlInR2 *** interference experiments indicated that the knockdown of NlInR2 expression in the E5_D17 mutant line increased the proportion of wing deformities from 11.1 to 65.6%,suggesting that the residual NlInR2 mRNA of the E5_D17 mutant might have retained some genetic *** results imply that systematic characterization of residual protein expression or function in CRISPR/Cas9-generated mutant lines is necessary for phenotypic interpretation.

Tropical diseases remain a major cause of morbidity and mortality in developing *** combined health efforts brought about significant improvements over the past 20 years,communities in resource-constrained settings lack the means of strengthening their environment in directions that would provide less favourable conditions for ***,the impact of infectious diseases is declining worldwide along with progress made regarding responses to basic health problems and improving health services delivery to the most vulnerable *** London Declaration on Neglected Tropical Diseases(NTDs),initiated by the World Health Organization’s NTD roadmap,set out the path towards control and eventual elimination of several tropical diseases by 2020,providing an impetus for local and regional disease elimination *** diseases are often patchy and erratic,and there are differing priorities in resources-limited and endemic countries at various levels of their public health *** order to identify and prioritize strategic research on elimination of tropical diseases,the‘First Forum on Surveillance-Response System Leading to Tropical Diseases Elimination’was convened in Shanghai in june *** strategies and the NTD roadmap were reviewed,followed by discussions on how to identify and critically examine prevailing challenges and opportunities,including inter-sectoral collaboration and approaches for elimination of several infectious,tropical diseases.A priority research agenda within a‘One Health-One World’frame of global health was developed,including(i)the establishment of a platform for resource-sharing and effective surveillance-response systems for Asia Pacific and Africa with an initial focus on elimination of lymphatic filariasis,malaria and schistosomiasis;(ii)development of new strategies,tools and approaches,such as improved diagnostics and antimalarial therapies;(iii)rigorous validation of surveillance-response systems;an
