BACKGROUND Currently,there have been no reports on foreign bodies found in the nasal septum after dental root canal ***,we present an unusual case of a foreign body found in the nasal septum,which occurred after dental root canal therapy and two unsuccessful *** SUMMARY A 55-year-old man was referred to our department due to slight nasal discomfort that persisted for about 1 *** consulting our department,the patient visited three different hospitals/clinics and underwent two surgeries that were not successful in removing a foreign body completely.A computed tomography scan was performed to detect the shift of the foreign body from dental root to the nasal septum,which resulted in the healing of oral inflammation and nasal septum *** endoscopic foreign body extraction surgery(3rd removal surgery)was then successfully performed,using a needle as the *** nasal reconstruction was required after the *** healing was *** Medical healthcare professionals should consider past medical history when dealing with foreign body *** septal foreign body extraction surgery,a needle could be used as a helpful reference.

To obtain reliable Cu abundances with the APOGEE H-band spectra,it is important to investigate the non-local thermodynamic equilibrium(NLTE)effects on the formation of the H-band Cu I *** addition,the Cu atomic model needs to be *** on both the high-resolution and high signal-tonoise ratio H-band spectra from the Apache Point Observatory Galactic Evolution Experiment(APOGEE)and optical data,we derived the LTE and NLTE copper abundances of 13 FGK sample stars with the spectral synthesis *** find that the NLTE effects are negligible for the Cu I 16005.7?A line in the IR *** copper abundances within the uncertainties from these two sets of lines have been obtained,which indicates the reliability of our NLTE copper atomic *** note that the[Cu/Fe]ratios increase with increasing metallicity when~–1.4 dex<[Fe/H]<~–0.5 dex,favoring a secondary(metallicity-dependent)copper production.

BACKGROUND Pulmonary embolism(PE)is a fatal clinical syndrome that is generally caused by an embolus from unstable deep venous thrombosis(DVT).However,clinical and biochemical factors that are related to the stability of DVT are not fully *** To evaluate the relationships between plasma antigen levels of factor XII(FXII:Ag)and factor XI(FXI:Ag)with the stability of *** Patients with DVT and no PE,DVT and PE,and controls with no DVT or PE that matched for age,gender,and comorbidities were included in this ***:Ag and FXI:Ag in peripheral venous blood were measured using enzyme-linked immunosorbent *** Using the 95th percentile of FXI:Ag in patients with DVT and PE as the cut-off,a higher FXI:Ag was associated with a higher risk of unstable DVT(odds ratio:3.15,95%confidence interval:1.18-8.43,P=0.019).Stratified analyses showed consistent results in patients≤60 years(P=0.020),but not in those>60 years(P=0.346).CONCLUSION Higher plasma FXI:Ag might be a marker for unstable DVT,which might be associated with PE in these patients.

Background The Firebird 2TM sirolimus-eluting stent （Firebird 2 stent） is a second-generation sirolimus-eluting stent which has a cobalt-chromium alloy stent platform, a brand new bracket structure, and two layers of styrene-butylenes-styrene polymer coatings with better biocompatibility. The Firebird 2TM cObalt-Chromium alloy sirolimus-elUting Stent registry （FOCUS registry） aimed to evaluate the safety and efficacy of the Firebird 2 stent in patients with coronary artery disease in daily *** The FOCUS registry is a prospective, non-randomized, international multi-center, single-arm clinical *** March 2009 and February 2010, 5084 patients receiving at least 1 Firebird 2 stent during daily clinical practice at 83 medical centers were *** Of the 5084 patients enrolled in the registry, 5077 and 5058 were respectively available for 30 days and 6 months follow-up. The 30-day rate of major adverse cardiac events （MACE） was 1.20%, including 13 cardiac deaths, 46 non-fatal myocardial infarction （MI）, and 6 target vessel revascularization （TVR）. At 6 months follow-up, the rate of MACE was 1.80%. There were 32 cardiac deaths, 48 non-fatal MI, and 15 TVR. According to the Academic Research Consortium definition, definite/probable stent thrombosis （ST） occurred in 0.43% （22/5058） of patients, including 8 cases of acute ST, 11 subacute ST, and 3 late *** The Firebird 2 stent showed the promising efficacy and safety at 30 days and 6 months in a real-world population of patients with coronary artery diseases.

Background Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography （ERCP） has been used increasingly for the treatment of choledocholithiasis, gallstone pancreatitis, and benign or malignant bile duct or pancreatic duct stenosis. The purpose of this study was to evaluate ERCP for the diagnosis and therapy of biliary-pancreatic diseases. Methods A total of 2075 patients who underwent diagnostic and therapeutic ERCP from june 2001 to March 2009 were analyzed retrospectively. Achievement and complication rates were calculated, and the therapeutic effect was observed. Results In all the 64 cases who underwent diagnostic ERCP, the procedure was successful, in 2011 cases therapeutic ERCP was performed, and the success rate was 94.6%. In the therapeutic ERCP cases, 1434 （93.0%） were successful among the 1542 cases of choledocholithiasis, and 422 （90.0%） of the 469 cases with benign or malignant bile duct or pancreatic duct stenosis, or acute obstructive suppurative cholangitis with stent placement or endoscopic nasobiliary drainage were successful. Fifty-nine （90.8%） cases of the 65 who underwent a pre-cut for pancreatic sphincterotomy were successful. Complication rate was 5.1% and the most frequent complication was acute pancreatitis （4.4%）. Conclusions ERCP is one of the major diagnostic and therapeutic methods for biliary-pancreatic disease. Therapeutic ERCP is a minimally invasive, safe and effective treatment method for various biliary-pancreatic diseases.

Coronary chronic total occlusion （CTO）, defined as a ,total occlusion of duration 〉3 months, remains a technical challenge for the interventional cardiologists. The major limitation in percutaneous coronary intervention （PCI） of CTO is the inability to penetrate and cross the occlusion with a guidewire. It was reported that the immediate angiographic success rate varied from 50% to 70% using the standard antegrade techniques.1 To improve this suboptimal success rate, the authors firstly introduced retrograde approach through the collateral channels as a novel technique and successfully recanalized a left main CTO using this technique when demonstrating the live cases in Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics （TCT） 2005. Recently, modified techniques based on the retrograde approach have demonstrated that this approach could provide a high success rate with PCI.3-5 In the present report, we described a new method, wire trapping technique combined with retrograde approach, which was applied successfully in three patients with CTO.

The low cycle fatigue behavior of zirconium−titanium−steel composite plate under symmetrical and asymmetric stress control was *** effects of mean stress and stress amplitude on cyclic deformation,ratcheting effect and damage mechanism were discussed in *** results show that under symmetric stress control,the forward ratcheting deformation is *** asymmetric stress control,the ratcheting strain increases rapidly with mean stress and stress amplitude *** high stress amplitude,the influence of mean stress is more *** addition,by studying the variation of strain energy density,it is found that the stress amplitude mainly promotes the fatigue damage,while the mean stress leads to the ratcheting *** addition,fractographic observation shows that the crack initiates in the brittle metal compound at the interface,and the steel has higher resistance to crack ***,the accuracy of life prediction model considering ratcheting effect is discussed in detail,and a high-precision life prediction model directly based on mean stress and stress amplitude is proposed.

The middle peak which appeared frequently on the voltammetric curves has been interpreted as the degradation of the polymer, according to the results of anion effect. When α-CD (α-cyclodextrin) was added in the acidic solution of aniline to form aniline-α-CD complex, the middle peak became even higher during electrochemical polymorization. This suggests that the middle peak is mot originated from cross-link or ortho-polymerization in aqueous acidic solution.
