AIM To explore the expression profiles of microRNAs(miRNAs), long non-coding RNAs(lncRNAs), and mRNAs in oesophageal squamous cell carcinoma(ESCC) in order to construct an oesophageal cancer-specific competing endogenous RNA(ceRNA) *** In this work, the expression data of miRNAs, lncRNAs, and mRNAs in ESCC were obtained. An oesophageal cancer-specific ceRNA network was then constructed and *** CeRNAs have the ability to reduce the targeting activityof miRNAs, leading to the de-repression of specific mRNAs with common miRNA response elements. CeRNA interactions have a critical effect in gene regulation and cancer *** This study suggests a novel perspective on potential oesophageal cancer mechanisms as well as novel pathways for modulating ceRNA networks for treating cancers.

The breakup reaction of ~9Li on a Pb target has been measured at 32.7 MeV/nucleon for the first time. Two peaks of ~6He+t coincident fragments at 9.8 and 12.5 MeV were observed and agreed with the results of the generator coordinate method calculation. The experiment was carried out thanks to a specially arranged detection system around zero degrees at the Heavy Ion Research Facility in Lanzhou, Radioactive Ion Beam Line in Lanzhou(HIRFL–RIBLL).

In this report,a kinematical focusing technique will be briefly described,and using this technique,the primary hot isotope yields from the multiplicities of evaporated light particles,associated with isotopically identified intermediate mass fragments,are *** energy and characteristic properties of the fragmenting source at the time of the intermediate mass fragment formation are extracted from these reconstructed primary isotope yields using a self-consistent *** extracted density-dependent symmetry energy is further compared with those experimentally extracted from other heavy-ion reactions in literatures.A direct connection between the freeze-out concept and transport model simulations in a multifragmenting regime of heavy-ion collisions is also demonstrated quantitatively in the present work.

A charged particle array named maTE-PA,which serves as an auxiliary detector system for a Multi-purpose Active-target Time projection chamber used in nuclear astrophysical and exotic beam Experiments(maTE),was *** array comprised of 20 single-sided strip-silicon detectors covering approximately 10%of the solid *** detectors facilitated the detection of reaction-induced charged particles that penetrate the active volume of the *** performance of maTE-PA has been experimentally studied using an alpha source and a 36-MeV 14 N beam injected into the maTE chamber on the radioactive ion beam line in Lanzhou(RIBLL).The chamber was filled with a gas mixture of 95%4 He and 5%CO_(2) at a pressure of 500 *** results indicated good separation of light-charged particles using the forward double-layer silicon detectors of *** energy resolution of the Si detectors was deduced to be approximately 1%(σ)for an energy loss of approximately 10 MeV caused by theα*** inclusion of maTE-PA improves particle identification and increases the dynamic range of the kinetic energy of charged particles,particularly that of theαparticles,up to approximately 15 MeV.

In this paper,the implantation-decay method is introduced to study the β-delayed charged particle decay.A silicon detector array was used for the implantation of the incident beams and for the detection of the emitted *** experimental measurement on the β-delayed particle emission from ^(22)Al was used to demonstrate the *** half-life value,charged particle spectroscopy,γ ray spectrum,and γ particle coincidence for the decay process were obtained and compared with previous experimental results for ^(22)*** results show that the implantation-decay method,using a silicon detector array,is a suitable experimental method to study the β-delayed charged particle decay for proton-rich nuclei.

A new and innovative detector system based on a silicon strip detector dedicated to the study of the reaction induced by lighter radioactive beams is described *** detector system consists of five sets of three types of telescopes,which are successfully used to measure the angular distributions of both elastic scattering and breakup simultaneously, on the Radioactive Ion Beam Line in Lanzhou at Heavy Ion Research Facility in Lanzhou. This silicon detector array is used to measure the elastic scattering angular distributions of ^(11) Be on a ^(208) Pb target at E_(lab) = 140 and 209 MeV. A comparison of the Monte Carlo simulations with the experimental results shows a reasonable consistency.

Effect of Phytosulfokine-α on Agrobacterium-Mediated Transformation in Rice

Phytosulfokine- α （PSK- α ）, a biologically active peptide acting as a growth factor, plays a key role in cellular differentiation and proliferation. To test if PSK- α has some influence on agrobacterium-mediated transformation in rice, PSK-α at a series of concentrations was added into co-culture medium respectively. The results showed that PSK- α indeed affected the recovery of resistant calli and the transformation frequency of rice varieties Taipei 309 and Lijiangxintuanheigu, PSK- α at the concentration of 10 nmol/L could increase induction of resistant callus and efficiency of transformation, with a 11% and 4.9% top increase, respectively than the control. However, PSK- αat 200 nmol/L could inhibit the induction of the resistant calli. Further more, the effect of PSK-α on agrobacterium-mediated transformation is related with the concentration of 2, 4-D in selection medium. Higher induction rate of resistant calli was obtained from tissues treated with PSK- α plus 2 mg/L 2, 4-D.

A detector setup for the measurement of angular distribution of heavy-ion elastic scattering at energies around Coulomb barrier on the radioactive ion beam line in Lanzhou at the heavy-ion research facility in Lanzhou is *** beam profile and the scattering angles on the target are deduced by two parallel plate avalanche counters,and four sets of detector telescopes(including doublesided silicon strip detectors) are placed systematically with the beam line,incorporating with Monte Carlo *** data of ^(16)O on ^(89)Y target were analyzed to compare with the simulation *** is found that the simulated distribution is agreeable with the experimental *** assuming the pure Rutherford scattering at small scattering angles,the angular distribution of elastic scattering of^(16)O+^(89)Y at low energies can be reasonably *** indicates that this set of detector setup can be used for the measurement of angular distributions of heavy-ion elastic scattering at energies around Coulomb barrier.
