Postharvest physiological responses of pomegranate fruit (cv. Wonderful) to exogenous putrescine treatment and effects on physico-chemical and phytochemical properties

Pomegranate fruit(***)were treated with putrescine(1,2 and 3 mmol/l)before storage for 4 months at 5℃ and 95%RH and the effects on postharvest life and quality attributes were *** showed that incidence of physiological disorders such as external decay,husk scald,chilling injury and aril browning increased with progressive storage but treating pomegranate fruit with putrescine reduced incidence of most *** fruit had higher levels of external decay(1.72%–33.26%),chilling injury(10.53%–38.77%)and scalding(15.04%–100%)with less attractive color during 4 month *** were observed on other fruit quality parameters although treatment with putrescine at 2 and 3 mmol/l concentration reduced changes in color,total soluble solid,Titratable acidity and ascorbic *** parameters were best preserved in fruit treated with 2 mmol/l concentration of putrescine with respect to juiciness and *** of pomegranate fruit with putrescine resulted in improved storability and fruit quality during ***,for short term storage,2 mmol/l concentration of putrescine could be recommended for maintaining fruit quality especially in the first two months of ***,for longer storage period,a higher concentration is recommended,as 3 mmol/l concentration was the most effective in alleviating disorders and maintaining physico-chemical parameters and sensory attributes during storage in this study.

Associating with relatives in social groups can bring benefits such as reduced risk of aggression and increased likelihood of *** among relatives over limited resources,on the other hand,can induce individuals to alter their patterns of *** density might further affect the costs and benefits of associating with relatives by altering resource competition or by changing the structure of social groups;preventing easy association with ***,the overlap between genetic and social structure is expected to decrease with increasing population size,as well as during times of increased breeding ***,we use multi-layer network techniques to quantify the similarity between long-term,high resolution genetic,and behavioral data from a large population of free-ranging house mice(Mus musculus domesticus),studied over *** infer how the benefit of associating with genetically similar individuals might fluctuate in relation to breeding behavior and environmental *** found a clear seasonal effect,with decreased overlap between social and genetic structure during summer months,characterized by high temperatures and high breeding *** the effect of overall population size was relatively weak,we found a clear decrease in the overlap between genetic similarity and social associations within larger *** well as longer-term within-group changes,these results reveal population-wide short-term shifts in how individuals associate with *** study suggests that resource competition modifies the trade-off between the costs and benefits of interacting with relatives.

提出了一种新的尺度归一化方法,该方法不强调各变量在尺度上的归一,而是在原始数据的基础上,通过提高稳定性高且在不同类别样本中具有显著差异性的变量的权重,以增强与特征代谢物相关的信息.分别采用模拟数据和真实代谢组学数据对新归一化方法的性能进行评估,并与单位方差法(Unit variance)、变量稳定性(Variable stability)和尺度缩放法(level scaling)等常用的尺度归一化方法进行了比较.研究结果表明,新归一化方法能够提高多变量统计模型的预测能力,较好地保留了核磁共振谱的分子信息,有助于特征代谢物的识别,并使后续的数据分析结果具有更好的可解释性.

Occurrence of pharmaceuticals and perfluorinated compounds and evaluation of the availability of reclaimed water in Kinmen

Emerging contaminants have commonly been observed in environmental waters but have not been included in water quality assessments at many locations around the *** evaluate the availability of reclaimed water in Kinmen,Taiwan,this study provides the first survey of the distribution of thirty-three pharmaceuticals and five perfluorinated chemicals in lake waters and water from local wastewater treatment plants(WWTPs).The results showed that the target emerging contaminants in Kinmen lakes were at trace ng/l *** addition,most of the target compounds were present in the Jincheng and Taihu WWTP influents at ng/l concentrations levels,of which 5 compounds(erythromycin-H2O(1340 ng/l),ibuprofen(1763 ng/l),atenolol(1634 ng/l),acetaminophen(2143 ng/l),and caffeine(3113 ng/l))reached mg/l *** overall treatment efficiencies of the Jincheng and Taihu WWTPs with respect to these pharmaceuticals and perfluorinated chemicals were poor;half of the compounds were less than 50%*** compounds(sulfamethoxazole,erythromycin-H2O,clarithromycin,ciprofloxacin and ofloxacin)with risk quotient(RQ)values>1 in the effluent should be further investigated to understand their effects on the aquatic *** and advanced treatment units are found necessary to provide high-quality recycled water and sustainable water resources.

Dear editor,Prostate cancer(PCa)remains a major healthcare burden in men globally[1].Most patients present with localized disease,and treatment is recommended based on risk classification systems like the National Comprehensive Cancer Network(NCCN)[2].However,these methods are imprecise for estimating metastasis-free survival and prostate cancer-specific mortality and thus biomarkers that can predict tumor aggression are needed[3–5].Several studies have since characterized the molecular landscape of localized PCa in White[4,5]and Black/African-American men[6],but data is lacking in Asian *** Chinese Prostate Cancer Genome and Epigenome Atlas(CPGEA)reported on the genomic and epigenomic landscape of 208 PCa of men from China[7].Comparative analyses between the CPGEA cohort and data from The Cancer Genome Atlas(TCGA)revealed higher frequencies of Forkhead box A1(FOXA1)and chromodomain-helicase DNA-binding 1(CHD1)mutations,and lower frequencies of phosphatase and tensin homolog(PTEN)mutations and transmembrane protease serine 2-E26 transformationspecific related gene(TMPRSS2-ERG)fusion in Chinese compared with White men[7].These preliminary findings highlight the presence of race-specific differences in molecular phenotypes of PCa.
