Acapulco, offers for international tourism a variety of mollusks that are delightful to the palate and a source of economic revenue for its residents;however there are no studies on the species consumed. Furthermore, data from the State agencies responsible for registration of these products are unclear. This work is aimed to develop an inventory of Gastropoda, Bivalvia and Polyplacophora marketed as food, to gain knowledge on the species native to Acapulco and the introduced ones. The places that sell shellfish were interviewed from 2008 to 2011 in order to determine the geographical origin of their products being offered. We identified 42 species: 15 species of gastropods are captured locally and three are introduced. On Bivalvia, seven species are caught locally and 16 are introduced. There are Bivalvia species caught locally;however, their capture is now unaffordable. It is likely that this situation is due to overfishing and/or the transmission of diseases or parasites caused by the introduction of foreign living organisms to Acapulco. Within the list of species caught locally, there are some listed as of subject protection;all of these organisms are exploited in Acapulco without control. The wealth of marine mollusks for human consumption in Acapulco is very high. The capture does not satisfy local market demand and the amount of introduced species is very high. It is necessary to make a diagnostic analysis of mollusk fishing industry in the state of Guerrero, also implement a management program, including the sanitary measures and control of introduced species, as they arrive alive and stay alive in the waters of Acapulco. A significant number of native species that have aquaculture potential should be studied for commercial culture practice as well as to conduct studies on their biology on those species that are considered over-exploited and allow recovery of the species in its habitat.

Dear Editor Human pluripotent stem cells including human embryonic stem cells （ESCs） and induced pluripotent stem cells （iPSCs） are cells displaying abilities of unlimited self-renewal and differentiation into any somatic cell type. These unique properties make them increasingly attractive for novel applications in disease modeling, drug discovery, and cell therapy （Buganim et al., 2014; Liu et al., 2011; Liu et al., 2012; Sanchez Alvarado and Yamanaka, 2014）. Moreover, iPSCs hold great potential for personalized cell therapy as they avoid some of the ethical concerns as well as the immunological rejection issues ascribed to ESCs.

This paper summarizes hydraulic studies carried out as part of the feasibility study for a new bridge over the Parana River in Argentina. The bridge will physically connect the provinces of Santa Fe and Corrientes, currently separated over the length a 200-km river reach. In addition to the hydraulic studies summarized here, the feasibility study includes analyses of the geology and geomorphology of the sites, land surveying, geophysical and hydrologic studies, studies of the navigation channel and fluvial transportation, transportation studies, and environmental impact studies. The main components of the present study were a geomorphologic analysis of the middle reach of the Parana River, and a quantitative hydraulic study. Qualitative and quantitative analyses provided a description of the hydraulic system, and served as a basis for a comparison of alternative bridge locations and the analysis of their vulnerability. The quantitative hydraulic study included the construction, calibration, and operation of one-dimensional (1D) and depth-averaged two-dimensional (2D) flow models. In order to tie the models to the most reliable data the 1D models covered a 450-km long reach, and included the main channel (about 2 km wide) and the flood plain (about 30 km wide). The results of the 1D models played a major role in the selection of the bridge location, and were subsequently used as boundary conditions for 2D modeling. The 2D models were constructed for a 70 km x 30 km modeling domain. This paper presents results of 1D modeling for large floods, both in the natural state and with the proposed bridge, and results of 2D modeling in the natural state. Modeling at this scale requires sound judgment to strike a balance between the desirable level of model detail and the cost of acquiring data for model construction and calibration.

We studied the microselective neurotomy (MSN) and its advantages to alleviate disabling spasticity. The best indication for MSN is focal spasticity. We performed 298 MSN, 87 nerves on the upper limb, 211 nerves on the lower limb) in 68 patients. The initial causes were: stroke, cranial trauma, postoperative complications and multiple sclerosis. MSN procedures were performed on the median nerve (n = 40) for wrist and finger flexion;musculo-cutaneus nerve (n = 38) for elbow flexion;ulnaris nerve (n = 9) for cubital deviation of the hand;gastrocnemius nerve (n = 98) and soleus nerve (n = 49) for equinus foot, tibial posterior nerve (n = 45) for varus foot, and fascicles (or bundles) of the flexor digitorum for “claw” toes (n = 19). The main preoperative test to identify the responsible nerve was a neuromuscular block with local anesthesia (lidocaine or bupivacaine) injected into the site of the nerve connecting the spastic muscle. During surgery, the identified nerve was exposed and its epineurium opened. Nerve bundles were teased apart into individual rootlets and a number of rootlets cut were previously planned, according to the spasticity. Follow-up was performed for up to 10 years, with a mean period of 29 months. Results demonstrated a reduction of limb spasticity of 2 to 3 points: modified Ashworth scale (MAS). Pain and clonus were also diminished in the affected limb. In some cases, voluntary movement was once again possible. MSN is a useful alternative in those cases of focal spasticity where physiotherapy and nerve block with botulinum toxin or phenol no longer produce satisfactory results.

AIM:To discuss the feasibility of single session endoscopic ultrasonography(EUS) to discuss and endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography(ERCP) ***:Retrospective endoscopic and anesthetic outcome comparison of performing both EUS and ERCP in a single endoscopic session(Group Ⅰ) versus performing each procedure in two different sessions(Group Ⅱ) was *** following variables were evaluated:epidemiological variables,American Society of Anesthesiologists Physical Status Classification(ASA) level,procedural time,propofol dose,anesthetic complications,endoscopic complications and diagnostic yield,and therapeutic procedures on both groups.T-student,ChiSquare and Fisher test were used for ***:We included 39 patients in Group Ⅰ(mean age:69.85 ± 9.25;27 men) and 46 in Group Ⅱ(mean age:67.46 ± 12.57;25 men).Procedural time did not differ significantly between both groups(Group Ⅰvs Group Ⅱ:93 ± 32.78 vs 98.98 ± 38.17;P >0.05) but the dose of propofol differed(Group Ⅰ vs Group Ⅱ:322.28 ± 250.54 mg vs 516.96 ± 289.06 mg;P = 0.001).Three patients had normal findings on both *** anesthetic complications [O2 desaturation(2),broncoaspiration(1)] and 9 endoscopic complications [pancreatitis(6),bleeding(1),perforation(1),cholangitis(1)] occurred without significant differences between both groups(P > 0.05).We did not find any significant difference regarding age,sex,ASA scale level,diagnostic yield or therapeutic maneuvers between both ***:The performance of EUS and ERCP in a single session offers a similar diagnostic and therapeutic yield,does not entail a higher complication risk and requires a significantly smaller dose of propofol for sedation compared with performing each exploration in a different session.

Background: COVID-19 produced by SARS-CoV-2 infection has spread worldwide. There is a growing need for immunological assays to detect viral specific antibodies or viral antigen. Current standard of diagnosis is reverse-transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) in nasopharyngeal swabs. However serological tests can be used to determine previous exposure to the virus and complement the diagnosis. IgM and IgG SARS-CoV-2 specific antibodies can be detected as early as one week after infection and assays can be useful to test large groups of individuals. This work revised the available information concerning assays that detect antibodies and antigens for SARS-CoV-2. Methods: Three sources of information were used: technical data sheets (TDS) web pages of the company’s products and published articles in Pubmed with reference to the use of diagnostic kits. All the information was revised until April 5th 2020. Results: There were 226 tests coming from 20 countries mainly from China. TDS were found only in 50 (22.1%). Most assays detect specific antibodies (n 180) based on immunochromatography methods (n 110) and use blood-derived samples (n 105). Assays for antibodies detection measured mainly IgM/IgG (n 112) and the most common procedure time was in vitro diagnosis (IVD). A total 165 articles were found on PubMed 15 were included and only 4 used the commercial kits reviewed. Conclusions: Due to the urgency of producing diagnostic tests for SARS-CoV-2 there is a broad offer of kits. Many tests need additional information for their application. The data collected may be useful in the selection of assays but more and higher quality information is needed.
