leaf Gas Exchange,Chlorophyll Fluorescence,and Fruit Yield in Hot Pepper (Capsicum anmuum l.) Grown Under Different Shade and Soil Moisture During the Fruit Growth Stage

Relative leaf chlorophyll （Chl.） content, leaf gas exchange, Chl. fluorescence, plant biological biomass, and fruit yield were evaluated in growing hot pepper （Capsicum annuum l.） during the fruit-growing stages in hot summer under three shade levels （un-shade, 30% shade, and 70% shade） and four soil water contents （SWC） of 40-55%, 55-70%, 70-85%, and 85- 100% of field moisture capacity （FMC）. Hot pepper crops were more affected by light irradiance than by soil moisture and by their interaction during the whole observed periods. Hot pepper attained greatest relative leaf Chl. content （expressed as SPAD value） and photosynthetic activity when cultivated with 30% shade, resulting in the highest plant biological biomass and fruit yield. Although 70% shade improved leaf photosynthetic efficiency （expressed as Fv/Fm or Fv＇/Fm＇）, crops obtained the lowest photosynthetic rate, photochemical quenching coefficient （qP）, and non-photochemical quenching coefficient （NPQ）. This showed that light irradiance was insufficiency in S70% （70% shade） treatment. The leaf net photosynthetic rates （PN）, Fc/Fm, and fruit yield increased gradually as SWC levels increased from 40-55% to 70- 85% FMC, but decreased as SWC was higher than 70-85% FMC. The water consumption increased progressively with SWC levels, but water-use efficiency （WUE） was the highest when soil moisture was 55-70% FMC. Interaction of shade and soil moisture had significant effects on PN and FJFm, but not on other parameters. Under drought stress （40-55% and 55-70% FMC）, 30% shade could relieve the droughty damage of crops and improve photosynthetic capacity and WUE, but 70% shade could not, oppositely, aggravate the damage. The positive correlation （r2 =0.72） between leaf PN and fruit yield was existent. This indicated that improvement of leaf photosynthesis would increase potentially marketable yield in hot pepper crops during the full fruit-growing stages. Background The study objective was to test the hypothesis that low crude protein(CP)diet with crystalline amino acids(CAA)supplementation improves lys utilization efficiency for milk production and reduces protein turnover and muscle protein *** lactating multiparous Yorkshire sows were allotted to 1 of 2 isocaloric diets(10.80 MJ/kg net energy):control(CON;19.24%CP)and reduced CP with“optimal”AA profile(OPT;14.00%CP).Sow body weight and backfat were recorded on d 1 and 21 of lactation and piglets were weighed on d 1,14,18,and 21 of *** d 14 and 18,a subset of 9 sows(CON=4,OPT=5)was infused with a mixed solution of 3-[methyl-2H3]histidine(bolus injection)and[13C]bicarbonate(priming dose)first,then a constant 2-h[13C]bicarbonate infusion followed by a 6-h primed constant[1-13C]lysine *** blood and milk sampling were performed to determine plasma and milk lys enrichment,lys oxidation rate,whole body protein turnover,and muscle protein *** Over the 21-d lactation period,compared to CON,sows fed OPT had greater litter growth rate(Plys(Plys mammary flux(Ple-body protein turnover efficiency(Plower whole body protein breakdown rate(P=0.069).Muscle protein breakdown rate did not differ between OPT and CON(P=0.197).Conclusion Feeding an improved AA balance diet increased efficiency of lys and reduced whole-body protein turnover and protein *** results imply that the lower maternal N retention observed in lactating sows fed improved AA balance diets in previous studies may be a result of greater partitioning of AA towards milk rather than greater body protein breakdown.

Quality assessment of Continuous Operating Reference Stations(CORS)-GPS stations in Mexico

The present analysis provided the quality assessment of 65 Continuous Operating Reference Stations(CORS) situated in and around Mexico using the data of about ten years(January 2010 to January 2020).To accomplish the assessment,we considered 4 quality indexes for performing the quality check,incluing the multipath effect on l1 and l2 bands,signal-to-noise ratio in both bands,cycle slips,and ***,a new reference parameter named regio nal values for Mexico(RVM) was calculated for the stations situated in ***,an exhaustive analysis of the quality indicators in the worst and best cases was *** signal degradation was proved by a long-term time series and cru stal defo rmation analysis in GAMIT/GlOBK *** results showed a stro ng correlation between integrity,cycle slips and daily observations time,and the multipath effect is strong in the case of outdated *** study indicates that the estimated quality indexes and values could be the basis for establishing new CORS in Mexico,and the errors corrections which cannot be mitigated in the postprocessing stage would greatly help utilize the data for different scientific *** results were supported by deformation analysis in part of Baja California Peninsula in Mexico indicating northern and eastern velocity vector of -3.08±0.02 mm/yr,-7.85±0.02 mm/yr and-0.07±0.03 mm/yr,-9.33±0.02 mm/yr respectively at MPR1 and INEG stations.

Core muscle functional strength training for reducing the risk of low back pain in military recruits:An open-label randomized controlled trial

Background:Core muscle functional strength training(CMFST)has been reported to reduce injuries to the lower ***,no study has confirmed whether CMFST can reduce the risk of low back pain(lBP).Objective:This study identified the effects of CMFST on the incidence of lBP in military ***,setting,participants and intervention:We performed a prospective,open-label,randomized,controlled study in a population of young healthy male naval recruits from a Chinese basic combat training *** were randomly assigned to either the core group or the control *** additional to normal basic combat training,recruits in the core group underwent a CMFST program for 12 weeks,while recruits in the control group received no extra *** outcome measures:At the beginning of the study and at the 12 th week,the number of participants with lBP was counted,and lumbar muscle endurance was *** addition,when participants complained of lBP,they were assessed using the visual analog scale(VAS)and Roland Morris Disability Questionnaire(RMDQ).Results:A total of 588 participants were included in the final analysis(295 in the core group and 293 in the control group).The incidence of lBP in the control group was about twice that of the core group over the 12-week study(20.8%vs 10.8%,odds ratio:2.161–2.159,Plumbar muscle endurance at 12 weeks than the control group([200.80±92.98]s vs[147.00±84.51]s,Ply lower RMDQ score at week 12 than the control group(3.33±0.58 vs 5.47±4.41,Plusion:This study demonstrated that the CMFST effectively reduced the incidence of lBP,improved lumbar muscle endurance,and relieved the dysfunction of lBP during basic military training.

Genetic mechanisms and control on hydrocarbon accumulation in transtensional structures: A case study of Gaoqing area, northern Dongying Sag, China

Broom-shaped structures are widely seen in transtensional basins, including those discovered in many sags of the Bohai Bay Basin. Broom-shaped transtensional structural zones are generally petroliferous and thus important targets for hydrocarbon exploration. This study analyzed the evolution and genetic mechanisms of the broom-shaped transtensional structures in the Gaoqing area of the Dongying Sag using the 3D seismic flattening technique and a physical simulation experiment. Furthermore, the control effects of the broom-shaped transtensional structures on hydrocarbon accumulation and distribution were discussed. The research results are as follows. The Gaoqing area is of a broom-shaped transtensional structure in planar view, composed of several arc-shaped secondary faults intersecting with high-level main fault in the same direction. On the seismic section, it appears as a typical semi-flower-like structure. In the early stage (that is, during the deposition of the Kongdian Formation to the lower submember of the 4th member of the Shahejie Formation, Es4(l)), single-fault pattern consisting of single or multiple faults in alignment was developed under extensional stress. While with the change of structural stress (that is, during the deposition of the Es4(U) to the Es2(l)), more secondary faults were formed, and came in a pattern of broom-shaped structure together with the major fault. In the late stage (that is, during the deposition of the Es1 to the Guantao Formation), the en echelon fault pattern was formed, as the major fault broke into multiple secondary faults. The divergent end of the broom-shaped transtensional structure has many secondary faults developed, the fault planes are gentle, and small-scale fan deltas are the predominant type of deposits. The hydrocarbon tends to laterally migrate far away and accumulate mianly in structural and lithologic-structural traps. Self-deposition for mesoporous carbon nanosheet with supercapacitor application

Porous carbon sheets have wide application prospects in many fields,especially in energy storage of supercapacitor due to the features combining both 2D structure and porous ***,a self-deposition approach is proposed to obtain N-doped mesoporous carbon nanosheets (N-MCNs),using 3-aminophenol (3-AF) as precursor and Mg(OH)_(2) sheet as hard *** process realizes the direct carbon formation using 3-AF monomer as carbon precursor under the catalysis of hard template avoiding the polymerization and utilization of *** mass ratio of 3-AF to Mg(OH)_(2) plays an important role in determining the pore structures and the resulting capacitance *** results show that N-MCNs with a mass ratio of 3-AF and Mg(OH)_(2) of 1:1 have good electrochemical behavior for *** N-MCNs based electrode exhibits a high capacitance of 240 F·g^(-1)at 1 A·g^(-1),good rate performance(75.4%retention ratio at 20 A·g^(-1)),and high cycling stability with 98.3% initial capacitance retained after 10000 *** supercapacitors on N-MCNs achieve energy density of 18.2 W·h·kg^(-1) and power density of 0.4 kW·kg^(-1) operated within a wide potential range of 0–1.6 V in 1.0 mol·l^(-1) Na_(2)SO_(4) solution,exhibiting its potential for electrode materials with high performance.
