Topographic Effect on Geostrophic Adjustment and Frontogenesis

Three conservative principles: potential vorticity, absolute momentum and potential temperature are used to study the influence of topography on the local frontogenesis and geostrophic adjustment, which are induced by the inhomogeneous thermal fields. It is found that the horizontal distribution of the initial potential temperature and its position relative to the mountain play important roles during the geostrophic adjustment and local frontogenesis. The frontogenesis is weakened by the mountain when the initial thermal perturbation is located at the base of the upwind slope. The frontal discontinuity cannot occur unless the horizontal contrast of the initial potential temperature is great enough. Whereas, the situation is opposite when the initial thermal disturbance is main-ly situated near the peak of the mountain. Complementary to the aforementioned cases, the effect of topog-raphy on the frontogenesis depends on the stratification of the flow when the initial thermal disturbance lies at the foot of lee slope. For weak stratification, topography is favorable to the formation of frontal discontinuity, vice versa. This discrepancy is attributed to the difference of subsidence warming, caused by the mountain, when the stratification is either strong or weak. Furthermore, the energy conversion ratio between the kinetic and potential energy during the geostrophic adjustment process is also affected by the topography. In contrast to the flat bottom case, the ratio is reduced (increased) when the initial thermal perturbation lies in the up-wind slope (lee slope). The reason is that the gravity force does negative work in the former case while does positive work in the latter case. Mechanism of Balanced Flow and Frontogenesis

The final balanced state of an initial unbalanced flow is discussed with the same method as Vallis (1992). For the two-dimensional, inviscid, rotating and nonlinear model, the final state of the flow depends on the initial conditions. If the initial potential vortcity of the flow is non-uniform, the final state is not necessarily geostrophic. However, for the zero and uniform potential vorticity flow, the final state will satisfy the thermal wind relation when the length scale of the initial disturbance is large enough. Otherwise, discontinuity will occur in the geostrophic solution. In this case, the final balanced state will not be geostrophic any longer and an extended momentum coordinate is introduced to overcome the mult-value problem. 放线菌剂对南疆沙区枣树生长生理及产量果品的影响

为探究放线菌剂在南疆沙漠土壤条件下对枣树生长生理及产量果品的影响,选择南疆洛浦县典型沙区枣园,以嫁接4年生‘七月鲜’枣树为研究对象,设置15、30和45g·株^(-1)3种不同用量放线菌剂处理,0g·株^(-1)作为对照,测定了枣树生长、生理、产量及果实品质等相关指标。结果表明,各放线菌剂处理下,枣树新发枣头枝基径在8、9月均较对照有所增加,尤其30g·株^(-1)处理较显著,而二次枝基径始终与对照无明显差异,叶面积在30和45g·株^(-1)处理下7、8月均较对照显著增加,而叶片厚度仅30g·株^(-1)处理在7月有明显增厚;各放线菌剂处理下,叶片叶绿素相对含量在8月,净光合速率在7、8和9月均较对照显著提高,而叶片相对含水量仅30g·株^(-1)处理表现持续高于对照;7月各放线菌剂处理下的叶片超氧化物歧化酶(SOD)和苯丙氨酸解氨酶(PAL)活性均较对照显著上升,而多酚氧化酶(PPO)活性除15g·株^(-1)处理外也都显著上升,至8月叶片PAL活性均趋于对照,SOD活性除15g·株^(-1)处理外仍显著高于对照,而PPO活性则全部显著提升;各放线菌剂处理下枣树单株产量和优果重量均较对照有所提高,其中15和30g·株^(-1)处理下差异显著,优果率均明显提高,而病果率则均无明显差异;各放线菌剂处理下,鲜枣可溶性固形物含量在白熟、脆熟和完熟期均较对照有一定提高,尤其30和45g·株^(-1)处理一直表现显著增加,而对于干枣,总糖含量与糖酸比均较对照显著提高,其中30g·株^(-1)处理还显著降低了可滴定酸含量。综上,放线菌剂可促进枣树生长,增强枣树重要生理功能,并提高产量和改善枣果品质。在南疆沙区枣园实际生产中,可每株配施30g放线菌剂,需结合春季施农家肥为主的基肥施用。

Small amplitude double layers in an electronegative dusty plasma with q-distributed electrons

The small amplitude dust ion-acoustic double layers in a collisionless four-component unmagnetized dusty plasma system containing nonextensive electrons, inertial negative ions, Maxwellian positive ions, and negatively charged static dust grains are investigated theoretically. Using the pseudo-potential approach and reductive perturbation method, an energy integral equation for the system has been derived and its solution in the form of double layers is obtained. The results appear that the existence regime of the double layer is very sensitive to the plasma parameters, e.g., electron nonextensivity,negative-to-positive ion number density ratio etc. It has been observed that for the selected set of parameters, the system supports rarefactive,（compressive） double layers depending upon the degree of nonextensivity of electrons.

Effects of U0126 on growth and activation of mitogen-activated protein kinases in Aspergillus fumigatus

Background Invasive aspergillosis （IA）, which is mainly caused by Aspergillus fumigatus （A. fumigatus）, is a major cause of morbidity and mortality in immunocompromised patients. Despite considerable progress in currently available antifungals the mortality still remains high in critically ill patients. U0126 which is a highly selective inhibitor of MEK1 and MEK2 in the RAF/MEK/ERK pathway in mammalian cells has been demonstrated to have an anti-proliferative role in cancer cells. The purpose of this study was to explore the role of U0126 on growth inhibition and activation of mitogen-activated protein kinases （MAPKs） in A. fumigatus. Methods Germination percentage and hyphae growth in A. fumigatus treated with U0126 were observed and compared with untreated controls. Western blotting analysis was used to detect changes in activation of SakA, MpkA and MpkB. Results U0126 inhibited germination and hyphae growth in A. fumigatus and enhanced the phosphorylation of SakA and MpkA under oxidative stress. U0126 at 10 pmol/L did not block the activation of MpkB during nitrogen starvation stress. Conclusion U0126 shows promise as an antifungal candidate and the MAPK pathway may be a possible antifungal drug target for A. fumigatus.

慢性原发性耳鸣的综合治疗效果分析

目的探讨音乐疗法结合耳鸣咨询、认知行为疗法对慢性原发性耳鸣的治疗效果。方法招募70名慢性原发性耳鸣患者作为研究对象,研究组(40人)采取音乐疗法联合耳鸣咨询、认知行为疗法,对照组(30人)采取耳鸣咨询联合认知行为疗法,分别记录两组患者治疗前,治疗后3月、6月、12月的THI量表及VAS量表评测结果,进行统计学分析,对比两组患者治疗效果。结果实验组THI评分治疗前平均值36.70±20.166,治疗后12月评分平均值22.05±16.699,对照组THI评分治疗前平均值39.20±19.983,治疗后12月评分平均值30.13±17.051。实验组VAS评分治疗前平均值5.85±1.916,治疗后12月评分平均值2.05±0.914,对照组VAS评分治疗前平均值5.73±1.964,治疗后12月评分平均值4.27±1.893。通过重复测量方差分析,评估两组患者随治疗时间的变化对其THI、VAS评分的影响,结果分别为F(1.507,102.494)=9.618,P=0.001;F(2.256,153.426)=41.443,P<0.001,治疗方法、时间对THI、VAS评分的影响均有统计学意义,且治疗方法与治疗时间之间存在交互作用。结论联合采用音乐疗法、耳鸣咨询、认知行为疗法可以改善慢性原发性耳鸣患者THI、VAS评分,综合治疗是慢性原发性耳鸣的有效治疗方法。

Primary 4-3-oxosteroid 5β-reductase deficiency:Two cases in China

Aldo-keto reductase 1D1(AKR1D1) deficiency,a rare but life-threatening form of bile acid deficiency,has not been previously described in ***,we describe the first two primary 4-3-oxosteroid 5β-reductase deficiency patients in China's Mainland diagnosed by fast atom bombardment-mass spectroscopy of urinary bile acids and confirmed by genetic analysis.A high proportion of atypical 3-oxo-4-bile acids in the urine indicated a deficiency in 4-3-oxosteroid 5β-*** of the coding exons and adjacent intronic sequence of the AKR1D1 gene were sequenced using peripheral lymphocyte genomic DNA of two patients and one of the patient's *** patient exhibited compound heterozygous mutations:c.396C>A and c.722A>T,while the other was heterozygous for the mutation c.797G>*** on these mutations,a diagnosis of primary 4-3-oxosteroid 5β-reductase deficiency could be *** ursodeoxycholic acid treatment and fat-soluble vitamin supplements,liver function tests normalized rapidly,and the degree of hepatomegaly was markedly reduced in both patients.

Prognostic value of tertiary lymphoid structure and tumour infiltrating lymphocytes in oral squamous cell carcinoma

Tertiary lymphoid structures(TLS)are ectopic lymphoid structures in cancers that are largely associated with favourable ***,the prognostic value of TLSs in oral squamous cell carcinoma(OSCC)is largely unknown,and the association between tumour infiltrating lymphocytes(TILs)and TLSs has been rarely explored in *** this study,associated markers of TLS,including peripheral node address(PNAd)in high endothelial venules,CD20 in B cells and CD3 in T cells,were examined in 168 OSCC patients,and survival analysis was performed between TLS-positive and TLS-negative *** detected the presence of TILs by staining CD8+cytotoxic T cells and CD57+NK cells as *** appeared as highly organized structures in 45(26.8%)*** patients had a better 5-year overall survival(OS)rate(88.9%vs.56.1%,P<0.001)and relapse-free survival(RFS)rate(88.9%vs.63.4%,P=0.002).Moreover,the presence of TLS was an independent prognostic factor for both the 5-year OS rate(hazard ratio[HR]=3.784;95%confidence interval[CI],1.498–9.562)and RFS rate(HR=3.296;95%CI,1.279–8.490)in multivariate ***,a higher density of CD8+T cells and CD57+NK cells was found in TLS-positive sections than in TLS-negative counterparts(P<0.001),and their combination provided a higher predictive accuracy(AUC=0.730;95%CI,0.654–0.805).In conclusion,our results suggest that TLS is an independent positive prognostic factor for OSCC *** findings provide a theoretical basis for the future diagnostic and therapeutic value of TLSs in OSCC treatment.
