Fear of cOVID-19 and emotional dysfunction problems:Intrusive,avoidance and hyperarousal stress as key mediators

BAcKGROUND There is mounting empirical evidence of the detrimental effects of the coronavirus disease 2019(cOVID-19)outbreak on mental *** research has underscored the effects of similar destabilizing situations such as war,natural disasters or other pandemics on acute stress levels which have been shown to exacerbate current and future psychopathological *** To explore the role of acute stress responses(intrusive,avoidance and hyperarousal)as mediators in the association between fear of cOVID-19 and emotional dysfunction-related problems:Depression,agoraphobia,panic,obsessivecompulsive,generalized anxiety,social anxiety and health anxiety *** A sample of 439 participants from a university community in Spain(age:mean±SD:36.64±13.37;73.1%females)completed several measures assessing their fear of cOVID-19,acute stress responses and emotional dysfunction syndromes through an online *** collection was carried out from the start of home confinement in Spain until May 4,2020,coinciding with initial de-escalation *** of the dataset included descriptive and frequency analyses,Mann-Whitney U Test of intergroup comparisons and path analysis for direct and indirect *** is an observational,descriptive-correlational and crosssectional *** The prevalence of clinical symptoms in our sample,reported since the beginning of the pandemic,reached 31.44%.The female group presented higher scores although the effect size was ***,the participants who exceeded the clinical cut-off points in emotional problems showed higher levels of fear of cOVID-19 and of cognitive,motor and psychophysiological responses of acute stress,unlike the group with normative *** addition,the results show significant mediated effects of hyperarousal stress among fear of cOVID-19 and emotional dysfunction ***,the clinical syndromes most related to the consequences of the pandemic(e.g.,social contact avoi

The aim of this paper is to describe and analyse the behaviour of heart rate variability(HRV)during constant-load,high-intensity exercise using a time frequency analysis(Wavelet Transform).Eleven elite cyclists took part in the study(age:18.6±3.0 years;VO_(2max):4.88±0.61 litres·min^(-1)).Initially,all subjects performed an incremental cycloergometer test to determine load power in a constant load-test(379.55±36.02 W;89.0%).HRV declined dramatically from the start of testing(pctral density within the LF band mirrored that of total energy,recording a significant decrease from the outset LF peaks fell rapidly thereafter,remaining stable until the end of the ***-VHF fell sharply in the first 20 to 30 *** relative weighting(%) of HF-VHF was inverted with the onset of fatigue,[1.6%at the start,7.1(pcrease,followed by a slight fall,thereafter increasing to the end of the *** LF/HF-VHF ratio increased at the start,later falling progressively until the end of the first phase and remaining around minimal values until the end of the test.

Use of micellar liquid chromatography for rapid monitoring of fungicides post harvest applied to citrus wastewater

A method based on micellar liquid chromatography has been developed to simultaneously monitor four pesticides largely post-harvest applied to citrus：thiabendazole,pyrimethanil,o-phenylphenol and *** samples were filtered and directly injected without other treatment,thus avoiding extraction *** composition of the mobile phase was optimized using a chemometrical approach to achieve and excellent resolution to 0.07 mol/L SDS/5%,V/V 1-pentanol buffered at p H *** phase run through a c18 column at 1 m L/min at room *** detection was performing by UV–Visible absorbance using a wavelength program：0–10 min,305 nm（for thiabendazole）;10–12;265 nm（for pyrimethanil）and 12–18,220 nm（o-phenylphenol and imazalil）.The developed method was validated following the guidelines of the US Environmental Protection Agency in terms of：quantitation range,（0.5–4 to 15μg/m L）,linearity（r2〉0.9995）,sensitivity（LOD,0.18–1.4μg/m L）,precision（〈9.2%）,trueness（93.9%–103.7%）,and ruggedness（〈9.9%）.It was found that the fungicides remain up to eight days in surface water at outdoor *** method was used to screen the presence of the analytes in several waste water samples,and was proved to be useful in routine analysis.

Dear Editor,I am *** Montolío-marzo from FISABIO Oftalmología Médica,Valencia,Spain.I write you to present a case report of epithelial downgrowth in an aphakic *** epithelial downgrowth is one of the most feared complications in cases of penetrating ocular trauma or recurrent ocular *** progress can affect all the ocular structures,giving rise to corneal decompensation,retinal detachment,difficult-to-treat glaucoma or phthisis bulbi and many cases end in enucleation[1].Fortunately,the incidence of this condition is very low,there being between 0.08%and 0.12%after cataract surgery and 0.25%after penetrating *** infrequency means that scientific evidence is reduced to case series and the opinions of experts without there being a homogeneous criterion to guide the work of the doctor in *** these reasons,epithelial downgrowth is still a diagnostic and therapeutic challenge.
