Background There were limited data comparing the major clinical outcomes between first-generation （1G）-drug eluting stentts （DES） and second-generation （2G）-DES in patients with acute myocardial infarction （AMI） after percutaneous coronary intervention （PCI） during very long follow-up periods. We thought to investigate the comparative efficacy and safety of 2G-DES compared with 1G-DES in AMI patients during 5-year follow-up periods. Method A total of 1016 eligible AMI patients who underwent PCI with 1G-DES [paclitaxel-, sirolimus-, 1G-zotarolimus-eluting stent （endeavor~ or endeavor sprintS）, n = 554] or 2G-DES [2G-zotarolimus （endeavor resolute~）- or everolimus-eluting stent, n = 462] were enrolled. The primary endpoint was the occurrence of major adverse cardiac events （MACE） defined as total death, non-fatal myocardial infarction （MI）, target lesion revascularization （TLR）, target vessel revascularization （TVR）, non-target vessel revascularization （Non-TVR） and the secondary endpoint was stem thrombosis （ST） at 5 years. Results Two propensity score-ma- tched （PSM） groups （232 pairs, n = 464, C-statistic = 0.802） were generated. During the 5-year follow-up period, the cumulative incidence of TLR [hazard ratio （HR）： 3.133; 95% confidence interval （CI）： 1.539-6.376; P = 0.002], TVR （HR： 3.144; 95% CI： 1.59645.192; P = 0.001） and total revascularization rate （FIR： 1.874; 95% CI： 1.086-3.140; P = 0.023） were significantly higher in 1G-DES compared with 2G-DES after PSM. However, the incidence of total death, non-fatal MI and ST were similar between the two groups. Conclusion In this single-center and all-comers registry, 2G-DES＇s superiorities for TLR, TVP, and total revascularization in AMI patients suggested during 5-year clinical follow-up periods.

Extraction of rare earth elements from neodymium(NdFeB) magnet scrap using magnesium halides

The demand for neodymium（NdFeB） permanent magnets for electric vehicles and eco-friendly generators is ***,NdFeB magnets contain rare earth elements（REEs）,which are limited in *** this study,we performed an exchange reaction between magnesium halides（fluoride and chloride） and waste NdFeB scrap and then compared the characteristics of the extracted halides *** compositions of the ternary Mg fluoride（LiF:NaF:MgF2=50:40:10 in mole ratio） and chloride（LiCl:NaCl:MgCl2=10:50:40 in mole ratio） salts were thermodynamically determined for achieving low eutectic *** reactions between the NdFeB scrap powder（1-2 mm） and Mg halide salts were carried out at 1073 and 873 K for the fluoride and chloride systems,respectively,in an argon *** the reaction,we separated Nd halide from the residual salt and evaluated the Ndextraction *** phase formation of the salt was analyzed using X-ray diffraction（XRD）,and the extraction rate of Nd was analyzed using inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectroscopy（ICPOES）.Nd was extracted in the form of Nd halide（NdF3or NdCl3）,and the extraction rates in the fluoride and chloride systems are 98.64% and 84.59%,***,the fluoride system is more effective than the chloride system for Nd *** study provides a comprehensive comparative analysis of the effectiveness of fluo ride and chlo ride systems in extracting REEs from NdFeB magnet *** study findings can be used to develop an effective method for recycling magnet scraps.

Background There are limited data comparing long-term clinical outcomes between first-generation (1G) and second-generation (2G) drug-eluting stents (DESs) in patients who underwent successful percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) for coronary chronic total occlusion (CTO) lesion. Methods A total of 840 consecutive patients who underwent PCI with DESs for CTO lesion from January 2004 to November 2015 were enrolled. Finally, a total of 324 eligible CTO patients received 1G-DES (Paclitaxel-eluting stent or Sirolimus-eluting stent, n = 157) or 2G-DES (Zotarolimus-eluting stent or Everolimus-eluting stent, n = 167) were enrolled. The clinical endpoint was the occurrence of major adverse cardiac events (MACE) defined as all-cause death, recurrent myocardial infarction (re-MI), total repeat revascularization [target lesion revascularization (TLR), target vessel revascularization (TVR), and non-TVR]. We investigated the 5-year major clinical outcomes between 1G-DES and 2G-DES in patient who underwent successful CTO PCI. Results After propensity score matched (PSM) analysis, two well-balanced groups (111 pairs, n = 222, C-statistic = 0.718) were generated. Up to the 5-year follow-up period, the cumulative incidence of all-cause death, re-MI, TLR, TVR and non-TVR were not significantly different between the two groups. Finally, MACE was also similar between the two groups (HR = 1.557, 95% CI: 0.820–2.959, P = 0.176) after PSM. Conclusions In this study, 2G-DES was not associated with reduced long-term MACE compared with 1G-DES following successful CTO revascularization up to five years.

To the Editor: Xanthogranulomatous cholecystitis(XGC) is an uncommon inflammatory disease of the gallbladder, and its incidence is reported to be 1.3%-5.2% [1]. XGC is diagnosed by histopathological examination, characterized by severe inflammatory destruction followed by a granulomatous reaction, marked proliferative fibrosis, and infiltration of inflammatory cells [2].

Prediction of Cold and Heat Patterns Using Anthropometric Measures Based on Machine Learning

Objective： To examine the association of body shape with cold and heat patterns, to determine which anthropometric measure is the best indicator for discriminating between the two patterns, and to investigate whether using a combination of measures can improve the predictive power to diagnose these patterns. Methods： Based on a total of 4,859 subjects （3,000 women and 1,859 men）, statistical analyses using binary logistic regression were performed to assess the significance of the difference and the predictive power of each anthropometric measure, and binary logistic regression and Naive Bayes with the variable selection technique were used to assess the improvement in the predictive power of the patterns using the combined measures. Results： In women, the strongest indicators for determining the cold and heat patterns among anthropometric measures were body mass index （BMI） and rib circumference; in men, the best indicator was BMI. In experiments using a combination of measures, the values of the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve in women were 0.776 by Naive Bayes and 0.772 by logistic regression, and the values in men were 0.788 by Naive Bayes and 0.779 by logistic regression. Conclusions： Individuals with a higher BMI have a tendency toward a heat pattern in both women and men. The use of a combination of anthropometric measures can slightly improve the diagnostic accuracy. Our findings can provide fundamental information for the diagnosis of cold and heat patterns based on body shape for personalized medicine.

Clinical significance of MET gene amplification in metastatic or locally advanced gastric cancer treated with first-line fluoropyrimidine and platinum combination chemotherapy

Objective: To investigate the clinical significance of MET gene amplification in patients with gastric cancer in the palliative ***: MET amplification was assessed using fluorescence in situ hybridization(FISH) in 50 patients and quantitative polymerase chain reaction(qPCR) in 326 patients;259 patients treated with first-line fluoropyrimidine and platinum were included for survival ***: The results of FISH and qPCR indicated that the c-MET/CEP7 ratio was correlated with gene copy number. The optimal cutoff value for the copy number using qPCR to detect MET gene amplification with FISH was 5(κ=0.778, P5 detected by qPCR. MET-amplified gastric cancer was associated with an Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group(ECOG) performance status(PS) score of ≥2(33.3% vs. 10.5% P=0.007), peritoneal metastasis(76.2% vs. 46.2%, P=0.008), and elevated bilirubin levels(28.6% vs. 7.3%, P=0.006). The median overall survival(OS) and progression-free survival(PFS) were 11.9 and 5.6 months, respectively. MET-amplified gastric cancer was not associated with survival outcomes [hazard ratio(HR)=0.68, 95% confidence interval(95% CI): 0.35-1.32,P=0.254 for PFS;HR=0.68, 95% CI: 0.35-1.32, P=0.251 for OS].Conclusions: qPCR can be used to detect MET gene amplification. MET amplification was not a predictor of poor prognosis in patients with metastatic or unresectable gastric cancer.

Radial Pulse and Electrocardiography Modulation by Mild Thermal Stresses Applied to Feet: An Exploratory Study with Randomized, Crossover Design

Objective:To investigate the changes in radial pulse induced by thermal stresses(TSs).Methods:Sixty subjects were *** an open-label,2x2 crossover randomization design,both feet of each subject were immersed in 15%:water for cold stress(CS)and in 40 X:water for heat stress(HS)for 5 min *** pulse,respiration and electrocardiogram(ECG)signals were recorded before,during and immediately after the ***:The an alysis of heart rate variability revealed that CS in creased the low-freque ncy(LF)and high-frequency(HF)components(P<0.05)and that HS reduced the LF and HF components(P<0.01).Both TSs reduced the normalized LF,increased the normalized HF,and reduced the LF/HF *** differences in the ECG signals were more dominant during the TS sessions,but those in the radial pulse signals became more domi nant immediately after the TS sessi *** decreased the pulse depth(P<0.01)and in creased the radial augme ntation in dex(P<0.1),and HS in creased the pulse pressure(P<0.1)and sube ndocardial viability ratio(P<0.01).There were no significant differences in pulse rate during the three time sequences of each *** respiration rate was increased(P<0.1),and the pulse rate per respiration(P/R ratio)was significantly decreased(P<0.05)with *** HF region(10-30 Hz)of the pulse spectral density was suppressed during both ***:CS induced vasoconstriction and sympathetic reactions,and HS induced vasodilation and parasympathetic reacti *** on defi nitions used in pulse diag no sis,we made the novel discoveries that the pulse became slower(decreased P/R ratio),more floating and tenser under CS and that the HF region of the spectral power decreased significantly under both TSs.

Flavonols are the major class of flavonoids of green Chinese cabbage(Brassica rapa ***).The *** genome harbors seven flavonol synthase genes(BrFLSs),but they have not been functionally ***,transcriptome analysis showed four BrFLSs mainly expressed in Chinese *** them,only BrFLS1 showed major FLS activity and additional flavanone 3β-hydroxylase(F3H)activity,while BrFLS2 and BrFLS3.1 exhibited only marginal F3H *** generated BrFLS1-knockout(BrFLS1-KO)Chinese cabbages using CRISPR/Cas9-mediated genome editing and obtained transgene-free homozygous plants without off-target mutation in the T1 generation,which were further advanced to the T2 generation showing normal ***-ESI-QTOF-MS analysis revealed that flavonol glycosides were dramatically decreased in the T2 plants,while dihydroflavonol glycosides accumulated concomitantly to levels corresponding to the reduced levels of *** PCR analysis revealed that the early steps of phenylpropanoid and flavonoid biosynthetic pathway were upregulated in the BrFLS1-KO *** accordance,total phenolic contents were slightly enhanced in the BrFLS1-KO plants,which suggests a negative role of flavonols in phenylpropanoid and flavonoid biosynthesis in Chinese *** surveys revealed that the BrFLS1-KO Chinese cabbages showed normal head formation and reproductive phenotypes,but subtle morphological changes in their heads were *** addition,their seedlings were susceptible to osmotic stress compared to the controls,suggesting that flavonols play a positive role for osmotic stress tolerance in *** *** this study,we showed that CRISPR/Cas9-mediated BrFLS1-KO successfully generated a valuable breeding resource of Chinese cabbage with distinctive metabolic traits and that CRISPR/Cas9 can be efficiently applied in functional Chinese cabbage breeding.

Comparative standardized ileal amino acid digestibility and metabolizable energy contents of main feed ingredients for growing pigs when adding dietary β-mannanase

The present study was conducted to test whether the dietary supplementation of β-mannanase affects amino acids(AA) digestibility,metabolizable energy(ME) contents of corn,wheat,soybean meal,distillers dried grains with solubles,and palm kernel meal(PKM),nutrient digestibility,and growth performance of *** Exp.1,22 cannulated pigs were used for 10 dietary treatments including 5 feed ingredients and 2 β-mannanase concentrations(0 and 0.5 g/kg of the diet) in 6 periods in an incomplete Latin square design to determine the AA and energy *** Exp.2,200 growing pigs were randomly allotted to 4 treatments with 2 nutrient levels(high and low) and 2 concentrations of β-mannanase(2×2 factorial arrangement) in 2 phases(phase 1,d 0 to 21;and phase 2,d 22 to 42).In Exp.1,β-mannanase increased the mean standardized ileal digestibility(SID) of AA in all feed *** amount of digestible energy was increased(P <0.05) in β-mannanase-treated *** fed β-mannanase showed a greater(P <0.05) digestibility of gross energy(GE).The feed-to-gain(F:G) ratio was improved(P <0.01) in pigs fed high-nutrient *** fed β-mannanase in the diets had greater(P <0.05) average daily gain and F:*** phase 2,the concentration of fecal ammonia was decreased(P <0.05) in pigs fed β-*** the 2 experiments,it can be concluded that β-mannanase increases the SID of AA,which has to be considered in balancing the rations.
