Gender development and hepatitis B and c infections among pregnant women in Africa:a systematic review and metaanalysis

Peroxidase Inhibition and Antioxidant Activity of Bulk-Marketed Black Tea (<i>camellia sinensis</i>L.) from the Democratic Republic of the congo

The widely known leaves of camellia sinensis (L.) derive the most consumed beverage globally. All over the world, like in the Democratic Republic of the congo (DR congo), they are marketed in the form of packaged and in bulk black tea. The aim of this study was to report the microscopic botanical features, the chromatographic fingerprints, the antioxidant activities, and the peroxidase inhibition of bulk-marketed black teas consumed in DR congo. The microscopic analysis of powders from unpackaged black tea marketed in DR congo allowed the identification of specific microscopical features, which are characteristic to c. sinensis (L.) such as numerous asterosclerites, numerous fragments of unicellular trichomes;fragments of abaxial epidermis consisting of cells with slightly wavy walls, numerous anomocytic stomata, and the detection of biological contaminants, e.g. the dust mites. TLc and HPLc analysis indicated that flavonoids (hyperoside, rutin) and phenolic acids (chlorogenic acid, gallic acid) were major phenolic compounds, along with other secondary metabolites. Aqueous extracts from all bulk-marketed black teas exhibited good antioxidant activities at the concentrations range of 1 - 20 μg·mL-1 using in vitro ABTS and DPPH assays. These extracts showed equally inhibitory effects on myeloperoxidase (MPO) and horseradish peroxidase (HRP) activities at the concentration ranges of 1 - 20 μg·mL-1 and 20 - 100 μg·mL-1 respectively. Bulk-marketed black teas consumed in DR congo possess antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties comparable to packaged ceylon tea largely marketed. The observed bioactivities support the health benefits of the consumed black tea by congolese people, despite the storage conditions to be improved in order to preserve its nutritional and therapeutic assets.

赖氨酸是人体和动物营养中的必需氨基酸，稻米中的赖氨酸含量很低，是稻米蛋白中的第1限制氨基酸。因此，开展赖氨酸含量的遗传研究以及培育高赖氨酸含量的水稻新品种，对于提高稻米的营养价值具有重要的意义。目前作物种子的赖氨酸含量测定主要采用比色法，如茚三酮比色法~([1,2])等；染料结合赖氨酸（DBL）法是我国推荐的用于测定谷类作物籽粒中赖氨酸含量的标准方法（国家标准GB4801－84）。DBL法测定赖氨酸含量需用较大量的稻米样品，这对只能提供小量或微量稻米样品，如早世代的育种材料、遗传研究中的单株材料等是不现实的。本研究建立了一改良DBL法，门用于测定小量或微量样品中折氨酸含量，炎稻米赖氨酸含量的遗传研究以及高赖氨酸水稻高赖氨酸水稻育种研究提供方便。

IMMEDIATE RELIEF OF KNEE PAIN THROUGH THE cOMPARISON OF HAND AND EAR AcUPUNcTURE

Objective: The present study aimed to assess the immediate effect of knee pain relief by comparing two techniques, the Koryo Sooji chim(hand acupuncture) and ear ***: Forty subjects were included in the present study and randomly divided into 4 groups of 10 subjects in each: real hand acupuncture, sham hand acupuncture, real ear acupuncture and sham ear *** patient was evaluated by Visual Analog Scale(VAS) before and after the ***: In group A, subjects who underwent real hand acupuncture showed 50%(5 individuals) improvement in pain and 50%(5 individuals) unchanged; in group B, subjects who underwent sham hand acupuncture showed 100%(10 individuals) unchanged; in group c, subjects who underwent real ear acupuncture showed 90%(9 individuals) improvement in pain and 10%(1 individual) did not change; and in group D, subjects who underwent sham ear acupuncture showed no changes in 100%(10 individuals).conclusion: From the results, it is clear that the correct application of the stimulus shows better improvement in pain, with the prevalence rates of ear acupuncture that showed better efficacy compared to Korean hand acupuncture.

Objective： The study aimed to evaluate the genotypic profiles of c. albicans （candida albicans） sequentially isolated throughout the course of HIV infections, and to determine its MIc （minimal inhibitory concentrations） to AMB （amphotericin B）, FLc （fluconazole）, KTc （ketoconazole）, and ITc （itraconazole）. Design： samples were collected from the oral cavity of HIV-positive individuals during 4 years, with a sterilized swab. MIc was performed by using the microdilution method AFST/EUcAST. The genetic similarities within and between sequential clones of c. albicans were assessed by DNA fingerprinting using the random amplification ofpolymorphic DNA technique. Results： A total of 142 oral samples were isolated from 59 HIV-infected individuals who attempted up to five visits each, with or without symptoms of oropharyngeal candidiasis. Profile analysis revealed that yeasts isolated over sequential visits from symptomatic or asymptomatic individuals showed 78% or 87% relatedness, respectively. The degree of similarity among c. albicans was higher for isolates from colonization than for those from infection. Genetically identical c. albicans samples also formed connected subelusters in sequential visits. In regard to susceptibility profile, all isolates were susceptible to AMB, FLc, KTc, and ITc and maintained this pattern all along, no differences in MIcs of any given antifungal compound were observed for sequential c. albicans isolates. conclusions： These data suggest that genotype and susceptibility to antifimgal drugs were maintained over time in sequentially isolates of c. albicans colonization and a diverse evolutionary genetic trend in c. albicans sequentially isolated from the oral eandidiasis of HIV infected individuals.

Precipitation is very important for both the environment and its inhabitants. Agricultural activities mostly depend on precipitation and its availability. Therefore, the ability to predict future precipitation values at specific stations is key for environmental and agricultural decision making. This research developed Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average (ARIMA) models for selected stations with Integrated component and Autoregressive Moving Average (ARMA) for selected stations without Integrated component at Louisiana State. The ARIMA module is represented as ARIMA(p, d, q)(P,D,Q). The selected lag order for the Autoregressive (AR) component is represented with p and P for seasonal AR component, while the integrated form (number of times data were differenced) is d and D for seasonal differencing, and the Moving Average (MA) lag order is q and Q for seasonal MA component. Data from 1950 to 2020 were employed in this research. This study employs Landsat-8 Operational Land Imager (OLI) thermal infrared satellite data to compare land surface temperature of two cities in Ghana: Accra and Kumasi. These cities have human populations above 2 million and the corresponding anthropogenic impact on their environments significantly. Images were acquired with minimum cloud cover (y and rainy seasons between December to August. Image preprocessing and rectification using ArcGIS 10.8 software were used. The shapefiles of Accra and Kumasi were used to extract from the full scenes to subset the study area. Thermal band data numbers were converted to Top of Atmospheric Spectral Radiance using radiance rescaling factors. To determine the density of green on a patch of land, normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) was calculated by using red and near-infrared bands i.e. Band 4 and Band 5. Land surface emissivity (LSE) was also calculated to determine the efficiency of transmitting thermal energy across the surface into the atmosphere. Results of the study show variation of temperatures between different locations in two urban areas. The study found Accra to have experienced higher and lower dry season and wet season temperatures, respectively. Background: It is well-founded that empathy is an attribute that increases the likelihood of good communication between health professionals and patients, and it is usual that there is the conviction that empathy levels are higher in women than in men. Aims: A study comparing levels of empathy gender of students in 18 schools of dentistry from six Latin American countries was conducted. Method: An exploratory cross-sectional study of which empathy levels were measured by the Jefferson Scale of Empathy for dental students (S version) and these levels were compared between genders by t-student test, after verification of normal distribution and homoscedasticity. Results: Variability was found in the results of the comparisons. In some cases, empathy levels were higher in women, others in men and in most of them there were no differences between genders. conclusions: The observed results do not support the belief that women are more empathetic than men. However, more studies must be performed in more powers and countries to verify that the results described constitute a scientific fact and not just a feature of dental students specifically in the countries studied.
