Comparing dynamical systems concepts and techniques for biomechanical analysis

Traditional biomechanical analyses of human movement are generally derived from linear *** these methods can be useful in many situations,they do not describe behaviors in human systems that are predominately *** this reason,nonlinear analysis methods based on a dynamical systems approach have become more prevalent in recent *** analysis techniques have provided new insights into how systems(1) maintain pattern stability,(2) transition into new states,and(3) are governed by short-and long-term(fractal) correlational processes at different spatio-temporal *** different aspects of system dynamics are typically investigated using concepts related to variability,stability,complexity,and *** purpose of this paper is to compare and contrast these different concepts and demonstrate that,although related,these terms represent fundamentally different aspects of system *** particular,we argue that variability should not uniformly be equated with stability or complexity of *** addition,current dynamic stability measures based on nonlinear analysis methods(such as the finite maximal Lyapunov exponent) can reveal local instabilities in movement dynamics,but the degree to which these local instabilities relate to global postural and gait stability and the ability to resist external perturbations remains to be ***,systematic studies are needed to relate observed reductions in complexity with aging and disease to the adaptive capabilities of the movement system and how complexity changes as a function of different task constraints.

Efficiency of HAART in the prevention of mother to children HIV-1 transmission at Saint Camille medical centre in Burkina Faso,west Africa

Objective:To evaluate efficiency of HAART in the prevention of mother to child HIV ***:A longitudinal study was conducted on 1 300 women attending the antenatal service at Saint Camille Medical Centre from September 2010 to July *** HIV status of mothers was determined by rapid tests and *** results were confirmed by real-time *** was used to determine HIV status of children born from HIV-positive ***:Among 1 300 pregnant women tested for HIV,378 were *** were predominantly housewives(69.7%),and their mean age was(28.32±0.15) *** overall prevalence of HIV transmission from mother to child was 4.8%(18/378).This prevalence differed significantly from 0.0%(0/114) to 6.8%(18/264) in children born from mothers under HAART and those with mothers under New Prophylactic Protocol(ACT + 3TC + NVP),respectively(Pw up was 1.3%(5/378).Among 16 women with HIV dubious status by ELISA,the Real Time PCR confirmed 2/16(12.5%) as HIV positive. Conclusions:The protocol of prevention of mother to children HIV transmission(PMTCT) is *** rate of HIV vertical transmission is significantly *** diagnosis determined by PCR of children born from HIV- positive mother is necessary and recommended in the context of PMTCT in Burkina *** also found that PCR is an effective tool to confirm HIV status in pregnant women.

Background: The world Health Organization (wHO) has set a goal to eradicate or at least significantly reduce the prevalence the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), hepatitis B Virus (HBV) and Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) by 2030. The main objective was to provide an evolving overview of the prevalence of HIV, HBV and HCV infection between 2003 and 2022 in Burkina Faso. Methods: It was a retrospective cross-sectional study based on data from 2003 to 2022. The data were collected using information available in the databases of the HOSCO and CERBA laboratories and included all individuals who underwent HIV and/or HBV and/or HCV testing. Data analysis was performed using SPSS version 20.0, EpiInfo 7, and R version 4.1.0. Results were considered statistically significant if p Results: The study recorded 7432 samples and the mean age of the subjects was 27.98 ± 8.50 years. During this period, the respective prevalence of HIV, HBV, and HCV were 4.66% (346/7432), 8.77% (582/6636) and 5.54% (322/5816). However, from 2003 to 2022, there was a significant decrease (P y=−1.75x+12.59;y=−0.24x+10.01and y=−0.11x+6.02, with “y” corresponding to prevalence and “x” to the years. Conclusion: Burkina Faso needs to rigorously apply prevention and control strategies recommended by the wHO by 2030.

Human pluripotent stem cell(h PSC)-derived progenies are immature versions of cells,presenting a potential limitation to the accurate modelling of diseases associated with maturity or ***,it is important to characterise how closely cells used in culture resemble their native *** order to select appropriate time points of retinal pigment epithelium(RPE)cultures that reflect native counterparts,we characterised the transcriptomic profiles of the h PSC-derived RPE cells from 1-and 12-month *** differentiated the human embryonic stem cell line H9 into RPE cells,performed single-cell RNA-sequencing of a total of 16,576 cells to assess themolecular changes of the RPE cells across these two culture time *** results indicate the stability of the RPE transcriptomic signature,with no evidence of an epithelial–mesenchymal transition,and with the maturing populations of the RPE observed with time in *** of Gene Ontology pathways revealed that as the cultures age,RPE cells upregulate expression of genes involved in metal binding and antioxidant *** might reflect an increased ability to handle oxidative stress as cells *** with native human RPE data confirms a maturing transcriptional profile of RPE cells in *** results suggest that long-term in vitro culture of RPE cells allows the modelling of specific phenotypes observed in native mature *** work highlights the transcriptional landscape of h PSC-derived RPE cells as they age in culture,which provides a reference for native and patient samples to be benchmarked against.

The intervertebral disc(IVD)comprises a gelatinous inner core(nucleus pulposus;NP)and concentric rings(annulus fibrosus;AF).The NP,an important structure for shock absorption in the vertebrate spinal motion segment,can be traced back to the notochord in ontogenetic *** vertebrates,the notochord undergoes mucinoid changes,and had been considered vestigial until ***,observed correlations between IVD degeneration and back pain in humans have renewed interest in the IVD in biomedical *** its mechanical contribution to development,the notochord is also an essential signaling center,which coordinates formation of the neural tube and *** pertinent signaling molecules,particularly TGF-b and bone morphogenetic proteins(BMPs),continue to play roles in the adult tissues and have been utilized for tissue *** factors are major determinants of who will develop IVD degeneration and related back pain,and seem to correlate better with disc degeneration and back pain than do external forces on the *** summary,the spinal column is a landmark development in *** directing the development of the IVD may also contribute to its maintenance,degeneration,and ***,structural genes as well as genes responsible for maintenance of the structure are related to IVD ***,genes responsible for inflammation may play a dual role in exacerbating degeneration or facilitating repair responses depending on the context.

work-team has emerged as an important unit composi ng the organization today. The concepts relating to the properties of team-role t hat fit with today’s business environment have attracted much attention from the theorists and researchers. A team having a balanced composition of team-ro les is called a balanced team. Theoretically, a balanced team usually renders a better team performance. Therefore, to improve the performance of the team, mana gement needs to ensure that their work teams are composed of appropriate team me mbers with complementary skills, playing different roles, together forming a bal anced team. However, in certain situation, a balanced team can hardly be formed. For example , companies in Hong Kong are mostly the small-to-medium sized enterprises. The number of team-members is usually smaller than the required number for formula ting a balanced team. Also, as team members are required to travel often across borders, stable team can hardly be maintained. To resolve this problem, a different paradigm of team-role prevails here. Team -members autonomously supplant the roles of those missing members. we call this phenomenon the kinetic team role behavior. By using the methodology adopted from psychotherapy study, we propose a way to investigate this interesting and important characteristics of team-role.
