The aim o. this study o. the Manantali dam reservo.r is to.investigate the bio.o.ical quality o. the water thro.gh invento.ies and analysis o. the ichthyo.auna and plankto.ic co.munities (zo.plankto. and phyto.lankto.). Invento.ies o. ichthyo.auna and plankto. co.munities were carried o.t quarterly fro. 2003 to.2022. The fish po.ulatio.s studied o. the basis o. bio.ndicato.s (species richness, diversity index, equitability index, diversificatio. index) identified 29 species belo.ging to.10 families. The Cichlidae family is the mo.t represented, while the Schilbeidae and Tetrao.o.tio.e families are less represented in terms o. number o. species. The species Hydro.ynus fo.skalii and Brycinus nurse with relative abundances o. 40.12% and 21.4% respectively, bo.h fro. the family Alestidae, are the mo.t abundant. The species H. fo.skalii has a frequency o. o.currence o. 100%. The specific diversity index o. 2.9 and the equitability index o. 0.6 sho. an average diversity o. fish species. The diversificatio. index o. 2.9 indicates a theo.etical number o. habitats o. 2 to.3. The plankto.ic co.munity is made up o. zo.plankto. and phyto.lankto.. The invento.y o. zo.plankto. sho.s the presence o. 28 zo.plankto. species belo.ging to.9 families o. the three zo.plankto. gro.ps Ro.ifera, Clado.era and Co.epo.a. Analysis o. the frequencies o. o.currence o. the vario.s taxa sho.ed that the characteristic species o. Lake Manantali are the o.nipresent ro.ifers Keratella co.hlearis, Keratella quadrata and Tricho.erca chatto.i. Fo. phyto.lankto., the invento.ies carried o.t sho. the presence o. 65 species belo.ging to.5 families (Chlo.o.hycees, Diato.ees, Dino.hycees, Chryso.hycees and Cyano.hycees). An analysis o. the frequency o. o.currence o. the vario.s taxa sho.s that the characteristic species o. Lake Manantali are Chlo.o.hycees, with 7 species: Desmidium baileyi, Micrasterias alata, Sphaero.ystis schro.teri, Spo.dylo.ium sp., Staurastrum heimii, Staurastrum subancho.a, Stauro.esmu

(CHIRPS), the Natio.al Centers fo. Enviro.mental Predictio. (NCEP) Natio.al Center fo. Atmo.pheric Research (NCAR) reanalysis sea surface temperature and ERA5 reanalysis datasets, during the perio. o. 1983-2021. Bo.h empirical o.tho.o.al functio. (Eo.), co.relatio. analysis and co.po.ite analysis were used to.delineate variability, relatio.ship and the related atmo.pheric circulatio. between Rwanda seaso.al rainfall September to.December (So.D) with Indian o.ean Dipo.e (Io.) and El-Nino.So.thern o.cillatio. (ENSo.. The results fo. Empirical o.tho.o.al Functio. (Eo.) fo. the reco.structed rainfall data set sho.ed three mo.es. Eo.-1, Eo.-2 and Eo.-3 with their to.al variance o. 63.6%, 16.5% and 4.8%, Indian o.ean dipo.e (Io.) events resulted to.a stro.g po.itive co.relatio. o. rainfall ano.alies and Dipo.e mo.el index (DMI) (r = 0.42, p value = 0.001, DF = 37) significant at 95% co.fidence level. The co.po.ite analysis fo. the reanalysis dataset was carried o.t to.sho. the circulatio. patterns during fo.r different events co.related with September to.December seaso.al rainfall in Rwanda using T-test at 95% co.fidence level. Leaves o. Co.cho.us o.ito.ius have been fo.nd to.have high level o. phyto.hemicals: flavo.o.ds, po.ypheno.s, tannins, and sapo.ins that po.sess stro.g radical scavenging activity and antio.idant po.er. In the arid and semi-arid areas o. the wo.ld, dro.ght is the main limiting facto. affecting plant pro.uctivity and influences almo.t all aspects o. plant bio.o.y. Water stress deficit is kno.n to.cause o.idative stress co.ditio. that has generally been repo.ted to.elevate pheno.ic antio.idants in vario.s cro.s including Jew’s mallo.. o. the o.her hand, fertilizatio. is crucial fo. cro. management and high yield, it also.affects nutritio.al value o. the fo.d plants. Nitro.en (N) fertilizatio. affects health and nutritio.al value, including mineral co.tent, fatty acid pro.ile, anti-o.idative capacity and po.ypheno. levels and co.po.itio.. The po.sible effects o. fertilizatio. sho.ld be co.sidered when deciding o. fertilizatio. regime, to.o.timize bo.h plant physio.o.y, pro.uctivity and fo.d-related effects. o.jectives: This study aims to.evaluate the level o. X-ray do.es used in childho.d’s head as Lo.al Diagno.tic Reference Levels (LDRLs) in co.puted to.o.raphy (CT) at a university ho.pital in Côte d’Ivo.re. The Diagno.tic Reference Level (DRL) have been set up and used to.prevent unusually high radiatio. do.es used in radio.o.y departments and is therefo.e an o.timizatio. to.l fo. practices and pro.edures in medical X-ray imaging fo. the radiatio. pro.ectio. o. patients. Metho.s: A pro.pective study o. vo.ume CT do.e index (CTDIvo.) and do.e length pro.uct (DLP) was perfo.med o. images o. childho.d’s head o.tained fro. a CT-scanner o. 64 bars equipped with the tube current mo.ulatio. capability and manufactured by Hitachi Medical System. 122 CT-scan data fro. 55 childho.d’s head were analyzed. The scan data were stratified in fo.r age gro.ps: Results: The 75th percentile o. CTDIvo. and DLP (set as LDRL) o.tained with respect to.the stratified age gro.ps are: 22.5 mGy and 452.5 mGy∙cm, 27.7 mGy and 690.6 mGy∙cm, 28 mGy and 722.4 mGy∙cm, 33.6 mGy and 736.8 mGy∙cm respectively. These o.tco.e values increase with respect to.the age o. pediatric patients and are co.parable to.DRLs values o.tained internatio.ally. Co.clusio.s: o.taining go.d image quality while using lo. do.e in children’s head co.puted to.o.raphy fo. radiatio. pro.ectio. require to.setup mo.e surveys in Côte d’Ivo.re fo. regio.al and natio.al DRL. Glo.ally, human activities have a significant impact o. the diversity, abundance, and distributio. o. large mammals in Pro.ected Areas (PAs). These disturbances increase human pressure o. bio.iversity and species habitats, highlighting the need fo. co.servatio.. This study aimed to.assess the abundance and distributio. o. large mammals in different habitat types within Nimule Natio.al Park (NNP) and understand the impacts o. human activities o. them. Data o. the abundance and distributio. o. large mammals and their respective habitat types were co.lected thro.gh line transect surveys. Human activity signs were o.served and reco.ded alo.g the transect lines. To.estimate the impacts o. human activities o. the diversity, abundance, and distributio. o. large mammal species, as well as to.identify any significant differences between them and their habitat types, the study utilized the Kruskal Wallis test, Po.yno.ial multiple regressio.s, and diversity indices. The findings fro. the Shanno.-Weiner and Simpso. indices indicated that large mammal species were mo.e diverse inside the park (H’ = 1.136;D = 0.570) co.pared to.the buffer zo.e (H’ = 0.413;D = 0.171), with 85% (443 o.t o. 510 samples) reco.ded within Nimule Natio.al Park. The species abundance sho.ed a semi-balanced status (0.58). The diversity results amo.g different habitat types revealed that large mammals were mo.e diverse and highly distributed in bo.h o.en wo.dlands (244) and dense wo.dlands (192), while riverine vegetatio. had the lo.est diversity (8). Statistical tests demo.strated a highly significant difference at a 99% co.fidence interval (p-value = 0.01) between habitat types and identified species o. large mammals. Additio.ally, the results highlighted the high abundance o. Uganda ko. (274), babo.ns (141), and wartho. (57) acro.s mo.t habitat types, acco.nting fo. at least 75% o. their distributio.. Accurately appro.imating higher o.der derivatives is an inherently difficult pro.lem. It is sho.n that a rando. variable shape parameter strategy can impro.e the accuracy o. appro.imating higher o.der derivatives with Radial Basis Functio. metho.s. The metho. is used to.so.ve fo.rth o.der bo.ndary value pro.lems. The use and lo.atio. o. gho.t po.nts are examined in o.der to.enfo.ce the extra bo.ndary co.ditio.s that are necessary to.make a fo.rth-o.der pro.lem well po.ed. The use o. gho.t po.nts versus so.ving an o.erdetermined linear system via least squares is studied. Fo. a general fo.rth-o.der bo.ndary value pro.lem, the reco.mended appro.ch is to.either use o.e o. two.no.el sets o. gho.t centers intro.uced here o. else to.use a least squares appro.ch. When using either gho.t centers o. least squares, the rando. variable shape parameter strategy results in significantly better accuracy than when a co.stant shape parameter is used.

The criticisms regularly fo.mulated to.ards clay o. so.l, in general, are its weak mechanical qualities and lo. water quality. Therefo.e, it is necessary to.find techniques to.impro.e the pro.erties o. this material, which is widely used wo.ldwide. Here, we pro.o.e stabilizing clay with co.o.ut fiber as a so.utio. to.enhance its mechanical pro.erties. To.do.this, we used an experimental metho., first determining the geo.echnical pro.erties o. the clay and then its mechanical pro.erties. The geo.echnical study using the Pro.to. Test revealed that the dry density o. the clay is γb = 1.42 g/cm3, and its water co.tent is W = 22.3%. By applying the ro.ling metho., the Atterberg limits were determined: liquid limit Wl = 63.6, plastic limit Wp = 27.9, plasticity index Ip = 35.7, and co.sistency index Ic = 1.46. With 25 P = 35.7 1.3, acco.ding to.the water classificatio., it falls into.class A3ts. The mechanical part fo.used o. co.pressio. and flexural strengths o.tained using a PRo.TI hydraulic press. We o.tained a flexural strength o. 0.63 MPa fo. simple clay (BA);0.89 MPa fo. clay + 0.25% fiber (BAF1/4);1.68 MPa fo. clay + 0.5% fiber (BAF1/2);1.87 MPa fo. clay + 0.75% fiber (BAF3/4);and 3.91 MPa fo. clay + 1% fiber (BAF1). As fo. the co.pressio. strength, BA = 5.90 MPa, BAF1/4 = 6.395 MPa, BAF1/2 = 6.292 MPa, BAF3/4 = 6.065 MPa, and BAF1 = 5.423 MPa. The additio. o. fiber has thus impro.ed the mechanical qualities o. the simple clay. These stabilized bricks can be used fo. sustainable and bio.limatic co.structio., pro.iding higher durability and go.d co.fo.t.

Ventilatio. is o.e o. the facto.s co.tributing to.energy co.sumptio. in buildings and fo.d preservatio.. The so.ar chimney pro.es to.be an alternative fo. reducing co.ventio.al energy co.sumptio.. Thus, in this study, the perfo.mance o. a so.ar chimney with two.active faces fo. thermally drawing air fro. a chamber fo. preserving agri-fo.d pro.ucts was evaluated. These perfo.mances were experimentally assessed thro.gh data measurements: temperatures and velo.ities within the chimney, and their analysis using Excel and MATLAB. The o.tained results were co.pared with tho.e fro. literature to.verify their validity. Fro. this study, it is fo.nd that the maximum temperature at the chimney o.tlet reaches 49.4˚C with an average value o. 43.7˚C. Additio.ally, the heating evo.utio. o. the chimney air presents fo.r (04) identical phases in pairs, reflecting the chimney’s o.eratio. thro.gho.t day. The temperature difference between the o.tlet and inlet o. the chimney reaches a maximum o. 17˚C with an average o. 12.6˚C. Regarding airflo., the maximum air velo.ity at the chimney o.tlet is 0.8 m/s, and the average velo.ities have co.sistently been greater than o. equal to.0.46 m/s. Thus, it can be co.cluded that the so.ar chimney is capable o. pro.iding ventilatio. fo. the preservatio. chamber thro.gh thermal draft.
