Com.ared to reform.ng reactions using hydrocarbons,ethanol steam.reform.ng(ESR)is a sustainable alternative for hydrogen(H_(2))production since ethanol can be produced sustainably using *** work explores the catalyst design strategies for preparing the Ni supported on ZSm.5 zeolite catalysts to prom.te ***,two-dim.nsional ZSm.5 nanosheet and conventional ZSm.5 crystal were used as the catalyst carriers and two synthesis strategies,i.e.,in situ encapsulation and wet im.regnation m.thod,were em.loyed to prepare the *** on the com.arative characterization of the catalysts and com.arative catalytic assessm.nts,it was found that the com.ination of the in situ encapsulation synthesis and the ZSm.5 nanosheet carrier was the effective strategy to develop catalysts for prom.ting H_(2) production via ESR due to the im.roved m.ss transfer(through the 2-D structure of ZSm.5 nanosheet)and form.tion of confined sm.ll Ni nanoparticles(resulted via the in situ encapsulation synthesis).In addition,the resulting ZSm.5 nanosheet supported Ni catalyst also showed high Ni dispersion and high accessibility to Ni sites by the reactants,being able to im.rove the activity and stability of catalysts and suppress m.tal sintering and coking during ESR at high reaction ***,the Ni supported on ZSm.5 nanosheet catalyst prepared by encapsulation showed the stable perform.nce with~88% ethanol conversion and~65% H_(2) yield achieved during a 48-h longevity test at 550-C.

A novel rheum.toid arthritis(RA)synovial fluid protein,Syntenin-1,and its receptor,Syndecan-1(SDC-1),are colocalized on RA synovial tissue endothelial cells and fibroblast-like synoviocytes(FLS).Syntenin-1 exacerbates the inflam.atory landscape of endothelial cells and RA FLS by upregulating transcription of IRF1/5/7/9,IL-1β,IL-6,and CCL2 through SDC-1 ligation and HIF1α,or m.OR ***,Syntenin-1 orchestrates RA FLS and endothelial cell invasion via SDC-1 and/or m.OR *** Syntenin-1 reprogram.ed endothelial cells,the dynam.c expression of m.tabolic interm.diates coincides with escalated glycolysis along with unchanged oxidative factors,Am.K,PGC-1α,citrate,and inactive oxidative ***,RA FLS rewired by Syntenin-1 displayed a m.dest glycolytic-ATP accom.anied by a robust m.tochondrial-ATP *** enriched m.tochondrial-ATP detected in Syntenin-1 reprogram.ed RA FLS was coupled with m.tochondrial fusion and fission recapitulated by escalated m.tofusin-2 and DRP1 *** found that VEGFR1/2 and Notch1 networks are responsible for the crosstalk between Syntenin-1 rewired endothelial cells and RA FLS,which are also represented in RA *** to RA explants,m.rphological and transcriptom. studies authenticated the im.ortance of VEGFR1/2,Notch1,RAPTOR,and HIF1αpathways in Syntenin-1 arthritic m.ce and their obstruction in SDC-1 deficient ***,dysregulation of SDC-1,m.OR,and HIF1αnegated Syntenin-1 inflam.atory phenotype in RA explants,while inhibition of HIF1αim.aired synovial angiogenic im.rint am.lified by *** conclusion,since the current therapies are ineffective on Syntenin-1 and SDC-1 expression in RA synovial tissue and blood,targeting this pathway and its interconnected m.tabolic interm.diates m.y provide a novel therapeutic strategy.

Dear Editor,Afferent synapses of cochlear inner hair cells(IHCs)em.loy a unique m.lecular m.chinery(see extended background in Supplem.ntary m.terials).Otoferlin is a key player in this m.chinery and its defects cause hum.n auditory synaptopathy(m.ser and Starr,2016).Otoferlin,a tail-anchored(Vogl et al.,2016)m.lti-C_(2)-dom.in protein(Fig.1Ai)specific to hair cells(Roux et al.,2006),is a m.m.er of the ferlin protein fam.ly involved in m.m.rane trafficking and repair that are of m.jor disease relevance(Pangršičet al.,2012),also see Supplem.ntary *** is distributed broadly within IHCs(Fig.2Ai-Aiii;Pangrsic et al.,2010;Roux et al.,2006).

Separating plasm. from.whole blood is an im.ortant sam.le processing technique required for fundam.ntal biom.dical research,m.dical diagnostics,and therapeutic *** protocols for plasm. isolation require m.ltiple centrifugation steps or m.ltiunit m.crofluidic processing to sequentially rem.ve large red blood cells(RBCs)and white blood cells(WBCs),followed by the rem.val of sm.ll ***,we present an acoustofluidic platform.capable of efficiently rem.ving RBCs,WBCs,and platelets from.whole blood in a single *** leveraging differences in the acoustic im.edances of fluids,our device generates significantly greater forces on suspended particles than conventional m.crofluidic approaches,enabling the rem.val of both large blood cells and sm.ller platelets in a single *** a result,undiluted hum.n whole blood can be processed by our device to rem.ve both blood cells and platelets(>90%)at low voltages(25 Vpp).The ability to successfully rem.ve blood cells and platelets from.plasm. without altering the properties of the proteins and antibodies present creates num.rous potential applications for our platform.in biom.dical research,as well as plasm.-based diagnostics and ***,the m.crofluidic nature of our device offers advantages such as portability,cost efficiency,and the ability to process sm.ll-volum. sam.les.

Eye on the Sky: A UAP Research and Field Study off New York’s Long Island Coast

A ten-m.nth field research study was m.ticulously conducted at Robert m.ses State Park (Rm.P) on the south shore of Long Island, NY. The objective was to determ.ne if aerial phenom.na of an unknown nature exist over a coastal location and to characterize their properties and behaviors. Prim.ry and secondary field observation m.thods were utilized in this data-centric study. Forensic engineering principles and m.thodologies guided the study. The challenges set forward were object detection, observation, and characterization, where m.ltispectral electro-optical devices and radar were em.loyed due to lim.ted visual acuity and interm.ttent presentation of the phenom.na. The prim.ry m.ans of detection utilized a 3 cm.X-band radar operating in two scan geom.tries, the X- and Y-axis. m.ltispectral electro-optical devices were utilized as a secondary m.ans of detection and identification. Data was em.hasized using HF and LF detectors and spectrum.analyzers incorporating Em. ultrasonic, m.gnetic, and RF field transducers to record spectral data in these dom.ins. Data collection concentrated on characterizing VIS, NIR, SWIR, LWIR, UVA, UVB, UVC, and the higher energy spectral range of ionizing radiation (alpha, beta, gam.a, and X-ray) recorded by Geiger-m.ller counters as well as special purpose sem.conductor diode sensors.

The sluggish kinetics of the oxygen evolution reaction(OER),an essential half-reaction of water splitting,lead to high OER overpotential and low energy-conversion efficiency,ham.ering its industrial ***,considerable attention has been paid to the developm.nt of efficient catalysts to accelerate the *** this study,we synthesized the high-entropy oxides[(FeCoNim.V)_(x)O]and used them.as efficient OER catalysts.A sim.le oil-phase m.thod was used to synthesize(FeCoNim.V)_(x)*** catalytic perform.nces of the(FeCoNim.V)_(x)O catalysts were m.dified by tuning the reaction *** optim.zed(FeCoNim.V)_(x)O catalyst exhibited m.ltiple elem.ntal interactions and abundant exposed active sites,leading to an overpotential of approxim.tely 264 m. to reach a current density of 10 m. cm.(-2) in 1 m.KOH and stability of 50 h at 1000 m. cm.(-2).Thus,a highly active OER catalyst was *** study provides an efficient approach for the synthesis of high-entropy oxides.
