Tremor is the most common movement disorder characterized by a rhythmical,involuntary oscillatory movement of a body *** distinct diseases can cause similar tremor manifestations and vice-versa,it is challenging tomake an accurate *** applies particularly for tremor at *** entity was only rarely studied in the past,although a multitude of clinical studies on prevalence and clinical features of tremor in Parkinson’s disease(PD),essential tremor and dystonia,have been carried *** rest tremor has been further separated from tremor-dominated *** tremor is also found in dystonic tremor,essential tremor with a rest component,Holmes tremor and a few even rarer *** transporter imaging and several electrophysiological methods provide additional clues for tremor differential *** evidence from neuroimaging and electrophysiological studies has broadened our knowledge on the pathophysiology of Parkinsonian and non-Parkinsonian *** cohort studies are warranted in future to explore the nature course and biological basis of tremor in common tremor related disorders.

Variation of parental and chick diet in opportunistic insectivorous European Bee-eaters

Insectivorous Palaearctic bird species associated with open habitats rely on high prey abundances,which are currently declining due to habitat loss and intensive agricultural *** European Bee-eater(Merops apiaster)is an opportunistic insectivore of open habitats,preying mainly on medium to large-sized flying *** diet composition received some attention in the past,but the current variation in diet composition of birds breeding across different habitats,and between adults and chicks remains poorly *** this study,we determine variation in bee-eaters’diet in colonies located in five common habitats at the Iberian *** also assess differences in the diet composition of chicks and adults and investigate seasonal diet selectivity of ***,we explore the variability in the size of prey provided to chicks throughout their growth *** and Coleoptera were the most important groups for bee-eaters,with adults and chicks consuming 58.8%and 64.1%of hymenopterans and 37.6%and 28.6%of coleopterans,*** proportion of Hymenoptera(42.3–55.7%)and Coleoptera(43.3–53.5%)in the diet was similar in colonies in pasture and oak habitats,but Hymenoptera dominated(83.8%and 95.7%)in meadow and mixed forest *** being a generally opportunistic predator,adult bee-eaters provide their progeny with an increasing proportion of larger insects through chick ***,they equally take Hymenoptera and Coleoptera for themselves and their chicks,even when the abundance of these insects decreases ***,these results suggest that local prey availability associated with specific habitats influences diet composition and that regional declines in certain groups may,therefore,affect insectivore species differently according to their dietary and habitat preferences.

Two major transcripts of lymphoid enhancer factor-1(LEF-1)have been *** longisoform with β-catenin binding domain functions as a transcriptional enhancer *** short isoformderives from an intronic promoter and exhibits dominant negative ***,alterations of LEF-1isoforms distribution have been described in colon *** the current study we employed a quantitativereal-time reverse transcription PCR method(TaqMan)to analyze expression of LEF-1 isoforms in a largecohort of human tumor(n=304)and tumor-free control samples(n=56).The highest expression level ofLEF-1 was found in carcinoma samples whereas brain cancer samples expressed *** of LEF-1 was different in distinct cancer *** example,the mRNA level of LEF-1 was lower in testiculartumor samples compared with tumor-free control *** epithelial cancers,significant LEF-1expression was also found in hematopoietic *** hematological malignancies,overall LEF-1 level washigher in lymphocytic leukemias compared with myeloid leukemias and normal ***,acute myeloid leukemia and acute lymphocytic leukemia showed a significantly increased fraction of theoncogenic LEF-1 compared with chronic lymphocytic leukemia and chromc myeloid *** together,these data suggest that LEF-1 is abundantly expressed in human tumors and the ratio of the oncogenic andthe dominant negative short isoform altered not only in carcinomas but also in leukemia.
