Colorectal cancer(CRC)remains one of the most commonly diagnosed and deadliest types of cancer *** displays a desmoplastic reaction(DR)that has been inversely associated with poor prognosis;less DR is associated with a better *** reaction generates excessive connective tissue,in which cancer-associated fibroblasts(CAFs)are critical cells that form a part of the tumor *** are directly involved in tumorigenesis through different ***,their role in immunosuppression in CRC is not well understood,and the precise role of signal transducers and activators of transcription(STATs)in mediating CAF activity in CRC remains *** the myriad chemical and biological factors that affect CAFs,different cytokines mediate their function by activating STAT signaling ***,the harmful effects of CAFs in favoring tumor growth and invasion may be modulated using STAT ***,we analyze the impact of different STATs on CAF activity and their immunoregulatory role.

科技创新投入、教育水平与区域经济增长——基于空间计量模型分析

基于我国2007—2019年30个省级区域的面板数据,建立空间计量模型分析科技创新投入和教育水平对于区域经济增长的影响。结果表明:东南沿海地区发展较好,并且表现为经济发达省份被其他经济发达的省份包围的分布态势;西部地区大多为经济欠发达省份,并且周围的省份经济发展也较差。通过分析得出科技创新投入对区域经济增长存在显著的正向溢出效应,但是教育水平对区域经济增长的溢出效应不显著。在中国经济进入高质量发展阶段,需要加强省份间经济合作,明确政府自身定位,提高科技创新投入水平和科技创新成果转化能力,推进教育水平综合提升。

Eucalyptus harvest residues are attractive energy production resources for the forestry ***,their removal can have adverse impacts on soil quality and forest productivity,especially in sandy *** this study,we assessed the effects of Eucalyptus harvest residue managements with variable intensity on forest productivity and on physical,chemical,and biological indicators of the soil *** experiment was conducted in a Quartzipsamment(33 g kg-1clay)planted with Eucalyptus saligna in Barra do Ribeiro in southern *** the Eucalyptus was planted,residues from the previous rotation were subjected to five different management treatments:(1)FRM,in which all forest residues(bark,branches,leaves,and litter)were allowed to remain on the soil and only trunk wood was removed;(2)FRMB,in which was identical to FRM except that bark was also removed;(3)FRMBr,in which only trunk wood and branches were removed;(4)FRR,which involved removing all types of residues(bark,branches,leaves,and litter);and,(5)FRRs,in which all forest residues from the previous rotation were removed,and leaves and branches from the new plantation were prevented from falling onto the soil surface using a shade *** years after planting,soil samples were collected at four different depths(0-2.5,2.5-5,5-10,and 10-20 cm)to determine 17 soil chemical,physical,and biological *** results were combined into a soil quality index(SQI)using the principal component analysis *** SQI reduced by 30%,in the 0-20 cm layer,due to removal of harvest residues from the previous rotation,and collection of litter before it falls on the *** main drivers of SQI reduction were the principal components associated with soil organic matter and biological ***,the SQI was positively linearly related to tree height at Piameter at breast height at P=*** adverse impact on soil quality and forest productivity in our study indicates that removal

Ontogenetic aging of tissues and the gradual decrease of adventitious rooting are known challenges for the clonal propagation of woody species,hampering clonal forestry *** study examined possible signatures of tissue rejuvenation/reinvigoration in different propagated materials of Eucalyptus microcorys by analyzing the total protein profile,peroxidase activity,macro-and micronutrient contents,and adventitious rooting of mini *** analyses were performed on *** shoots which were successfully obtained by seminal and grafting propagation,micropropagation with epicormic shoots,and indirect *** four mature trees used in the propagation,tissues from the one with the best propagation results were investigated for signs of tissue rejuvenation and/or *** individuals from each technique were randomly selected and transferred to a semi-hydroponic"channel"*** four weeks in the seedbed,the total protein,peroxidase activity,nutrient content and rooting of the mini cuttings were ***-PAGE enabled the differentiation of leaf samples obtained by grafting from the other propagation techniques,as revealed by two distinct *** obtained by micropropagation with epicormic shoots showed the highest peroxidase activity,while those obtained by seminal propagation and from the selected mature tree showed the lowest peroxidase activity.A portable X-ray fluorescence spectroscope(pXRF)identified adequate nutrient content in most of the nutrients tested in materials obtained by seminal and grafting propagation,and by indirect *** analysis of adventitious rooting showed that the highest rooting percentage was observed in mini cuttings from seminal propagation(75%)followed by indirect organogenesis(35%).Based on principal component analysis,it was concluded that rooting of mini cuttings from both seminal propagation and indirect organogenesis was associated with phosphorous,sulphur,and potassium

The aims of this study were to determine the meiotic behavior and to estimate pollen grains via-bility in bean(Phaseolus vulgaris L.)*** buds were collected during different developmental stages of the Mesoamerican bean cultivars iaPAR 44,Guapo Brilhante,BRS Expedito,BRS Valente,Guateian 6662 and Pérola,and the Andean bean cultivar Iraí,grown in a *** meiotic index was determined by anther squashing of material fixed in absolute ethanol-glacial acetic acid(3:1)and stained with acetic *** meiotic abnormalities were observed and the meiotic indices were high for all cultivars,indicating that the mismatch generated during crosses is not related to any meiotic *** of pollen viability was made by comparing acetic orcein staining ***’s reactive:pollen viability was high in all cultivars with either stain,but was significantly higher when using the acetic orcein stain(>99%).Though some cultivar showed a significantly smaller pollen size,the range of variation among cultivars was low(means’range 51-66μm).

Forest management may have significant effects on forest connectivity and natural population *** old-growth single trees may also change natural patterns of genetic variation and spatial genetic *** study evaluated the impacts of forest management using a silvicultural system of seed trees on the genetic diversity and spatial genetic structure of Eremanthus erythropappus(DC.)MacLeish.A complete survey of 275 trees on four plots was undertaken out to compare the genetic variation of a managed stand with an unmanaged *** genotyped all adult and juvenile individuals 60 months after the management and compared the genetic diversity and the spatial genetic structure *** diversity was considered high because of an efficient gene flow between *** were no genetic differences between stands and no evidence of *** clustering identified a single population(K=1),indicating no genetic differentiation between managed and unmanaged *** and juvenile individuals of the unmanaged stand were more geographically structured than individuals from the managed *** was a tendency of coancestry among juveniles at the first class of distance of the managed stand,suggesting a drift of genetic structure possibly caused by *** early responses to management on genetic diversity and stand structure is a first step to ensuring the effectiveness of conservation practices of tree *** sustainability of forest management of *** on genetic diversity,and more accurately,on spatial genetic structure needs evaluation over time to promote effective conservation of the population size and genetic variability.

Targeting hepatic ceruloplasmin mitigates nonalcoholic steatohepatitis by modulating bile acid metabolism

Nonalcoholic steatohepatitis(NASH)is a condition that progresses from nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD)and is characterized by hepatic fat accumulation,inflammation,and *** has the potential to develop into cirrhosis and liver cancer,and currently no effective pharmacological treatment is *** this study,we investigate the therapeutic potential of targeting ceruloplasmin(Cp),a copper-containing protein predominantly secreted by hepatocytes,for treating *** result show that hepatic Cp is remarkedly upregulated in individuals with NASH and the mouse NASH ***-specific Cp ablation effectively attenuates the onset of dietary-induced NASH by decreasing lipid accumulation,curbing inflammation,mitigating fibrosis,and ameliorating liver *** employing transcriptomics and metabolomics approaches,we have discovered that hepatic deletion of Cp brings about remarkable restoration of bile acid(BA)metabolism during *** deletion of Cp effectively remodels BA metabolism by upregulating Cyp7a1 and Cyp8b1,which subsequently leads to enhanced BA synthesis and notable alterations in BA *** conclusion,our studies elucidate the crucial involvement of Cp in NASH,highlighting its significance as a promising therapeutic target for the treatment of this disease.

Ground motion prediction equations based on shallow crustal earthquakes in Georgia and the surrounding Caucasus

Strong ground motions caused by earthquakes with magnitudes ranging from 3.5 to 6.9 and hypocentral distances of up to 300km were recorded by local broadband stations and three-component accelerograms within Georgia’s enhanced digital seismic *** data mixing is particularly effective in areas where strong ground motion data are *** data were used to produce models based on ground-motion prediction equations(GMPEs),one benefit of which is that they take into consideration information from waveforms across a wide range of *** this study,models were developed to predict ground motions for peak ground acceleration and 5%-damped pseudo-absolute-acceleration spectra for periods between 0.01 and 10 ***-period ground motions decayed faster than long-period motions,though decay was still in the order of approximately 1/*** mechanisms and local soil conditions greatly influence *** spectral acceleration(SA)of thrust faults was higher than that for either strike-slip or normal faults but the influence of strike-slip faulting on SA was slightly greater than that for normal *** soils also caused significantly more amplification than rocky sites.
