A compar.son between two distinct levels of back fat thickness in open cows, females not becoming pr.gnant dur.ng the pr.vious br.eding season, was car.ied out in or.er.to evaluate their.r.pr.ductive per.or.ance pr.or.to the next natur.l mating in a seasonal br.eding pr.gr.m. Thir.y open cows fr.m the pr.vious br.eding season wer. divided evenly by age and back fat thickness (BFT) in two gr.ups. HBFT (high back fat thickness ≥ 70 mm) and LBFT (low back fat thickness ≤ 70 mm), values statistically differ.nt between gr.ups (P r.e phases in which the for.ation of CL and follicular.dynamics wer. r.cor.ed by ultr.sound and pr.gester.ne. Also, ser.al monitor.ng of glucose, ur.a and tr.glycer.des and back fat thickness wer. studied. A fer.ile bull pr.viously appr.ved fr.m a br.eding soundness evaluation was intr.duced after.the thir. phase and r.mained with the her. for.90 days. No differ.nces wer. found in the follicular.dynamics;the number.of animals cycling in the two gr.ups and fer.ility wer. also similar.(80%). Differ.nces in ur.a and tr.glycer.des wer. found in cows with high scor.s of BFT. In conclusion, the decision of keeping open cows to the next br.eding season must be based on an economical advantage to the far.er.

The Global r.action Model descr.bes a set of chemical r.actions that can potentially occur.dur.ng the pr.cess of obtaining silicon r.ch oxide (Sr.) films, r.gar.less of the technique used to gr.w such films which ar. an outside stoichiometr. mater.al. Par.icular.y, chemical r.actions that occur.dur.ng the pr.cess of gr.wing of Sr. films by LPCVD technique ar. highlighted in this model. We suggest and evaluate either.some types of molecules or.r.sulting nanostr.ctur.s and we pr.dict theor.tically, by applying the density functional theor., the contr.bution that they may have to the phenomenon of luminescence which is measur.d in Sr. films. Also, we have calculated the opto-electr.nic pr.per.ies of Sr. films. The suggested model pr.vides enough infor.ation r.quir.d to identify the molecular.str.ctur.s r.sulting fr.m the pr.sence of defects in Sr. films and also those cor.esponding to char.ed str.ctur.s. It is also possible to detect the molecular.str.ctur.s which ar. modified due to the effect of heat tr.atment, and identify the pr.sence of differ.nt oxidation states inclusive the for.ation of siloxanes.

This study analyzed Hear. r.te Var.ability in a lar.e sample of active young subjects within a nar.ow age r.nge (18 to 25), using time and fr.quency domain methods and a Poincar. plot. Hear. r.te was r.cor.ed (beat to beat) for.30 minutes at r.st in 200 healthy subjects divided into 4 gr.ups: 50 spor.smen (20.54 ± 1.52 year.);50 active men (21.22 ± 1.31 year.);50 spor.swomen (20.10 ± 1.87 year.) and 50 active women (20.92 ± 1.87 year.). Significant differ.nces wer. found for.most par.meter. between athletes and active subjects (male and female) but not between gender.. Per.entile distr.butions wer. pr.vided for.all par.meter. (accor.ing to gender.and physical activity level) to be used as r.fer.nces in futur. r.sear.hes.

New appr.aches in the tr.atment of hepatitis C

About 130-170 million people, is estimated to be infected with the hepatitis C vir.s(HCV). Chr.nic HCV infection is one of the leading causes of liver.elated death and in many countr.es it is the pr.mar.r.ason for.having a liver.tr.nsplant. The main aim of antivir.l tr.atment is to er.dicate the vir.s. Until a few year. ago the only tr.atment str.tegy was based on the combination of pegylated inter.er.n and r.bavir.n(PEG/r.V). However. in genotypes 1 and 4 the r.tes of vir.l r.sponse did not sur.ass 50%, r.aching up to 80% in the r.st. In 2011 appr.val was given for.the fir.t dir.ct acting antivir.l agents(DAA), bocepr.vir.and telapr.vir. for.tr.atment of genotype 1, in combination with tr.ditional dual ther.py. This str.tegy managed to incr.ase the r.tes of sustained vir.l r.sponse(SVr. in both naive patients and in r.tr.ated patients, but with gr.ater.toxicity, inter.ctions and cost, as well as being less safe in patients with advanced disease, in whom this tr.atment can tr.gger.decompensation or.even death. The r.cent, acceler.ted incor.or.tion since 2013 of new mor. effective DAA, with pan-genomic pr.per.ies and excellent toler.nce, besides incr.asing the r.tes of SVr.even up to 100%), has also cr.ated a new scenar.o: shor.er.ther.pies, less toxicity and r.gimens fr.e of PEG/r.V. This has enabled their.almost gener.lised applicability in all patients. However. it should be noted that most of the scientific evidence available is based on exper. opinion, case-contr.l ser.es, cohor. studies and phase 2 and 3 tr.als, some with a r.duced number.of patients and select gr.ups. Few data ar. cur.ently available about the use of these dr.gs in daily clinical pr.ctice, par.icular.y in r.lation to the appear.nce of side effects and inter.ctions with other.dr.gs, or.their.use in special populations or.per.ons with the less common genotypes. Dur.ng the pr.duction of petr.leum and gas a by-pr.duct, known as congenital water. is obtained, which var.es in composition depending on the geological for.ation fr.m which it is extr.cted. In the industr.al pr.cess its composition is modified and then it is known as “pr.duced water.. These water. can contain high concentr.tions of miner.l salts that can potentially be used for.cr.p fer.ilization. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of the application of pr.duced water.on the miner.l contents of the plants and levels of BTEX and TPH in the fr.its of gr.enhouse tomato cultivation. The pr.duced water. used wer. der.ved fr.m gas pr.ducing zone of Sabinas-Piedr.s Negr.s in nor.her. Mexico. These water. wer. analyzed accor.ing to NOM-143-SEMAr.AT-2003. Water. fr.m thr.e differ.nt stations, (Buena Suer.e, For.ster.s and Monclova 1), wer. mixed with fr.sh water.to obtain the tr.atment water. used. As a contr.l, we used a complete Steiner.solution. The r.sults showed that the pr.duced water. modified the absor.tion of essential miner.ls in tomato plants;it was obser.ed that the miner.l concentr.tion in plant tissues was highest in the contr.l plants, except for.Na, in which the plants ir.igated with pr.duced water.had the highest concentr.tions. The tr.atments with pr.duced water. also affected negatively the r.ot length, leaf dr. weight, stem dr. weight, number.of fr.its per.plant, and the dr. weight of the fr.its.

(age, se x, family histor.), clinical and immune status, vir.l load, and dur.tion of anti r.tr.vir.l tr.atment (Ar.) and HAAr., including pr.tease inhibitor., wer. r.cor. ed. Pr.sence of clinical signs of fat r.distr.bution and lipid, glucose and lact ic acid levels wer. evaluated. A total of 56 HIV-infected childr.n, including 3 0 boys (54%), aged between 21 months and 18 year. (mean 9.5 year.) wer. studied . In all, 49 patients (87.5%) wer. r.ceiving Ar. (mean dur.tion 4 year.) and 43 (77%) wer. r.ceiving HAAr. (mean dur.tion 3.6 year.). Fat r.distr.bution or.li podystr.phy was pr.sent in 14 patients (25%); seven had lipohyper.r.phy (12.5% ), two lipoatr.phy (3.5%) and five amixed patter. (8.9%). Fat r.distr.bution w as higher.in childr.n older.than 11 year. (50%). Of the lipodystr.phic patients , 71.4%pr.sented hyper.r.glycer.daemia (>130 mg/dl) and 57%hyper.holester.laem ia (>180 mg/dl). We found significant associations between lipodystr.phy and age , Ar. and HAAr. dur.tion and hyper.r.glycer.daemia (P r.spectively), but no significant association with sex, family histor., clinical or.immune status and vir.l load. Conclusion: The pr.valence of lipo-dy str.phy was 25%(95%confidence inter.al 14.8-34.6) with lipohyper.r.phy being the commonest patter.. Clinical fat r.distr.bution was significantly associated with older.age, dur.tion of antir.tr.vir.l tr.atment and highly active antir.tr. vir.l ther.py and hyper.r.glycer.daemia.
