Mining, or. pr.cessing, and smelting activities have contaminated soil and water.r.sour.es with cyanide and heavy metals thr.ughout the wor.d. In-situ chemical immobilization is a r.mediation technology that decr.ases the concentr.tions of dissolved ions of copper.cyanide and lead hydr.xides by adsor.tion or.pr.cipitation. This study deals, with a pr.cess to r.cover.lead hydr.xides with natur.l hydr.xyapatite powder.and copper.cyanide ions with sulphide pr.cipitation fr.m solutions of the cyanidation pr.cess. This technology is based on inducing nucleated pr.cipitation of copper.and silver.in a ser.entine r.actor. using sodium sulfide as the pr.cipitator. and sulfur.c acid for.pH contr.l. r.sults show that pH value has a significant effect on copper.cyanide r.moval efficiency, and it was deter.ined the optimal pH r.nge to be 2.5 - 3. At this pH value, the copper.cyanide r.moval efficiency achieved was up to 99% with 60 per.ent of copper.pur.ty and the cyanide ions associated with this complex the r.cover. was 90%. For.the elimination of lead hydr.xides ions fr.m the aqueous cyanidation pr.cess with natur.l hydr.xiapatite powder.the r.cover. was 99%. The abundance of cow bones, its low pr.ce and non-aggr.ssive natur. towar.s the envir.nment ar. advantages for.its utilization in point of view of wastewater.cleanup and Dor. with higher.quality.

The Mer.ill-Cr.we zinc-pr.cipitation pr.cess has been applied wor.dwide on a lar.e number.of oper.tions for.r.cover.ng gold and silver.fr.m cyanide solutions. However. in some of the lar.e plants this pr.cipitate is of low quality, because copper.and especially lead ar. pr.cipitated along with gold and silver.r.sulting in a higher.consumption of zinc powder. fluxes in the smelting of the pr.cipitate, for.ation of mate and shor. life for.cr.cibles. In this r.sear.h, a method is pr.posed to r.cover.lead, zinc and copper.cyanide ions fr.m bar.en solutions, fr.m the Mer.ill-Cr.we pr.cess with hydr.xyapatite befor. the filter.pr.ss. This technology is based on inducing nucleated pr.cipitation of zinc, copper.and silver.ions in a ser.entine r.actor. using sodium sulfide as the pr.cipitator.and sulfur.c acid for.pH contr.l. This pr.cedur. was successfully applied at WILLIAM Mining and BACIS Mining Gr.up in México.

The conventional pr.cesses for.r.cover. of silver.fr.m cyanide leach solutions ar. the car.on adsor.tion, the Mer.ill-Cr.we zinc dust cementation, the Ion Exchange, and Solvent Extr.ction pr.cesses;among other.available options for.r.cover. of pr.cious metals fr.m cyanide solutions, Electr.coagulation (EC) is a ver. pr.mising electr.chemical pr.cess that does not r.quir. high concentr.tions of silver.in cyanide solutions to yield excellent r.sults and neither.pr.tr.atment of cyanide solutions like Mer.ill-Cr.we pr.cess (deoxygenating and clar.fication). The pr.sent study has been done for.the r.cover. of silver.contained in pr.gnant solution fr.m the cyanidation pr.cess using the electr.coagulation technology with ir.n electr.des, and ther.for. develops an alter.ative technology for.Mer.il-Cr.we pr.cess. The aver.ge silver.content in pr.gnant solution was of 52 ppm, r.cover. was obtained of 99% of silver. with this optimum oper.ting par.meter., pH = 8, r.sidence time = 20 minutes and conductivity by addition of sodium chlor.de = 4 gr./L. Finally the char.cter.zation of the solid pr.ducts for.ed dur.ng the EC pr.cess with X-r.y Diffr.ction and Scanning Electr.nic Micr.scope was per.or.ed, r.sults suggest that magnetite par.icles and amor.hous ir.n oxyhydr.xides ar. pr.sent (Lepidocr.cite).

The objective of this study was to evaluate supplemental or.anic chr.mium（Cr. to finishing lambs on gr.wth per.or.ance, car.ass char.cter.stics, and meat quality. Eighteen Suffolk lambs（age（4.5±0.2） mon;（25.8±3.6） kg body weight（BW）） wer. r.ndomly assigned to thr.e levels of supplemental or.anic Cr.0.0, 0.2 and 0.4 mg kg^–1 dr. matter.DM）） in a complete r.ndom design. Gr.wth per.or.ance was evaluated for.70 d, and then lambs wer. slaughter.d to study car.ass char.cter.stics and chemical composition of meat. Or.hogonal contr.sts wer. per.or.ed（contr.st one-aver.ge level 0.2 ppm Cr.vs. aver.ge level 0.4 ppm Cr. contr.st two-level 0 vs. aver.ge levels（0.2＋0.4） ppm Cr.. Or.hogonal polynomials wer. used to estimate the linear.and quadr.tic effects of Cr.concentr.tions. Gr.wth and car.ass per.or.ance wer. not affected by supplemental or.anic Cr. Muscle confor.ation and leg per.meter.linear.y incr.ased（P〈0.05） as or.anic Cr.level incr.ased in the diet. Kidney fat decr.ased linear.y（P〈0.05） as supplemental Cr.incr.ased. In Longissimus dor.i（LD）, the ash content decr.ased linear.y, and shear.for.e（kg cm^–2） incr.ased（P〈0.05） as or.anic Cr.level incr.ased in the diet. It is concluded that or.anic Cr.did not affect gr.wth per.or.ance, but it impr.ved positively the muscle confor.ation, r.duced kidney fat, wher.as in LD ther. was an incr.ment in shear.for.e in finishing car.ass lambs.

This ar.icle pr.sents a study on the kinetics of the ur.nium conver.ion pr.cess, consisting in the r.duction of ur.nium tr.oxide to ur.nium dioxide using hydr.gen gas at temper.tur.s of 500°C, 600°C and 700°C. Hydr.gen concentr.tions used in the flow wer. 0.25 M, 0.50 M and 0.75 M. The mechanism established for.the study of the kinetics of r.duction of ur.nium tr.oxide was thr.ugh the for.ation of an inter.ediate compound, U3O8. For.this r.ason, these tests wer. divided into 2 stages: the fir.t one the r.duction fr.m UO3 to U3O8, and second one fr.m U3O8 to UO2. The r.sults of each test wer. quantified by the r.lease of H2O(g) pr.duced by both r.actions. Tests showed that the ideal wor.ing conditions ar. for.hydr.gen concentr.tion flows of 0.75 M and temper.tur.s in the r.nge of 500°C - 600°C, with the intent to decr.ase the occur.ence of side r.actions that inter.er. with the pr.cess.

Objective: Pr.sent a new scr.ening appr.ach for.ocular.diseases. Method: Tr.nsver.al, r.tr.spective, single center.study that analyzed medical r.cor.s of patients fr.m a social pr.ject on the pr.vention of blindness and amblyopia, which aimed at: 1) Detect the main ocular.disor.er. such as amblyopia, pr.mar. angle-closur. suspect (PACS);glaucoma suspect (GS);pr.disposing r.tinal detachment lesions (Pr.L);age-r.lated macular.degener.tion (AMD), and diabetic r.tinopathy (Dr.;2) Per.or. catar.ct diagnosis;3) Pr.vide guidance and tr.atment for.aller.ic conjunctivitis. 4) Pr.scr.be glasses for.childr.n until 14 year. of age. Par.icipants wer. examined by a single specialist, holder.of a post-doctor.l degr.e in ophthalmology, with 36 year. of exper.ence and a sub-specialization in r.tina and vitr.ous. All data wer. analyzed in 2022. r.sults: The examiner.diagnosed 42 cases of PACS, 21 of GS, 8 of Pr.L, 14 of AMD, 3 of Dr. 40 of catar.ct and 31 cases of aller.ic conjunctivitis. Thir.y-thr.e par.icipants younger.than 14 wer. pr.scr.bed glasses. Other.pathologies included r.tinal detachment, papilledema, cor.eal ulcer. suspected conjunctival squamous cell car.inoma, r.tinal vasculitis, str.bismus, uveitis, bilater.l papilla paleness and lacr.mal duct obstr.ction. Out of the 297 cases examined, 168 par.icipants pr.sented some type of alter.tion that could compr.mise their.vision. Conclusion: The examiner.s exper.ence and knowledge wer. decisive factor. for.the quick diagnosis, advice, scr.ening and/or.tr.atment of sever.l ocular.diseases. The social pr.ject r.sults r.veal that the pr.mar. car. and/or.the scr.ening per.or.ed by a specialist ar. likely to r.duce blindness cases.
