基于吉林白山大阳岔小阳桥剖面高精度多学科交叉研究,综合高分辨率生物、层序、化学和磁性地层学的再研究成果,国际奥陶系分会于2019年5月表决通过了中国北方小阳桥剖面为奥陶系底界的全球辅助层型剖面和点(ASSP),即新修的标准辅助界线层型(SABS)(Martinetal.,2022a,2022b),从而为国内外其他区块寒武系-奥陶系界线的精确划分和对比提供了新依据。据此,本文讨论了以下剖面的寒武系-奥陶系界线精确划分与对比问题:位于华夏地块大陆边缘岛弧或弧后盆地相的广东台山新厂阶命名剖面,分别位于扬子地块台地、陆棚-斜坡和斜坡-盆地相的湖北宜昌黄花场两河口剖面、江西修水武宁剖面和湖南常德瓦尔岗剖面,分别位于中朝地块台地和台缘的河北唐山赵阁庄剖面和山东青州饶王山剖面,位于新疆塔里木地块巴楚—西边大板塔格一带寒武系-奥陶系界线所在剖面,位于加拿大纽芬兰绿岬GSSP剖面,以及位于美国犹他州劳森湾的ASSP剖面。值得注意的是,新建立的小阳桥ASSP剖面位于陆棚-斜坡过渡地带,在古地理位置上正好处于浅水碳酸盐台地(如美国劳森湾ASSP)与深水下斜坡(如加拿大绿岬GSSP)和深水下斜坡-盆地(如中国湖南瓦尔岗(Wargang或Wa’ergan))剖面之间的关键位置,从而成为连接他们之间的纽带和对比标志,并据此提高国内外相关界线划分与对比的准确性。此外,小阳桥ASSP详细的生物、沉积、化学和磁性地层分析揭示了绿岬GSSP剖面所指定的GSSP生物和地球化学标志,说明绿岬GSSP剖面的寒武系-奥陶系界线应对比于小阳桥ASSP剖面的标志性块状叠层石石灰岩(0m)之上的第24层(BD24)底部(19.9±0.2m);生物地层学上,该界线位于牙形石Cordylodusintermedius带上部(Cordyloduslindstromi带底界之下1.5m),在最早的浮游笔石(Rhabdinoporaproparabola)首现(FAD)层位(BD26)之下1 m处。层序地层、海平面变化、事件地层和化学地层研究表明,奥陶系底界位于全球弓头虫(Acerocare)低水位事件之下、稀土元素地球化学异常(REE)之上,继之出现最大碳同位素(δ^(13)Ccarb)正偏移(no.3)。这些物理和化学变化为破解全球寒武系-奥陶系界线的精确划分与对比问题,特别是为解决不同大陆和相区间的寒武系-奥陶系界线的精确划分和对比问题,增添了额外的依据。

The dynamics of water and energy fluxes in the high mountains of central Norway was studied along micro-spatial topographic gradients in different altitudes and regions of the Scandes. Landscape ecological processes like sdow accumulation during winter, snow melting, evaporation, percolation, soil moisture variability and temperature variations were quantified. Combining spatio-temporal data on physical environment functioning and vegetation patterns resulted in a process-oriented characterisation of high mountain ecosystems. Extensive data from long-term measurements were synthesised illustrating the influence of micro-climate, snow cover, and soil moisture on high mountain ecosystem functioning. The results reveal that the micro-climatic impact on the vegetation is predominantly determined by snow cover overlaying soil moisture gradients. Water only becomes superior where near-surface water saturation and flooding occur. A lack of soil moisture availability was not found during any time of the year even under driest site conditions. Contrasting literature, the Norwegian mountain vegetation was found to be interpreted by environmental variable constellations excluding drought stress.

Recent studies have shown significant associations of aberrant DNA methylation in spermatozoa with idiopathic male infertility, increased frequency of spontaneous abortions and imprinting disorders. Thus, the analysis of DNA methylation of specific genes in spermatozoa has the potential to become a new valuable diagnostic marker in clinical andrology. This perspective article discusses the current state and value of DNA methylation analysis in the diagnostic setup of infertile men and outlines challenges and perspectives. It highlights the potential of DNA methylation in andrological diagnostics and its putative benefit in the examination of hitherto idiopathic infertile patients is described.

With the cukivation of Bt cotton, the produced insecticidal Cry proteins are ingested by herbivores and potentially transferred along the food chain to natural enemies, such as predators. In laboratory experiments with Bollgard II cotton, concentrations of CrylAc and Cry2Ab were measured in Lepidoptera larvae （Spodoptera littoralis, Hello- this virescens）, plant bugs （Euschistus heros）, aphids （Aphis gossypii）, whiteflies （Bemisia tabaci）, thrips （ Thrips tabaci, Frankliniella occidentalis）, and spider mites （Tetranychus urticae）. Tritrophic experiments were conducted with caterpillars ofS. littoralis as prey and larvae of ladybird beetles （Harmonia axyridis, Adalia bipunctata） and lacewings （Chrysop- erla carnea） as predators. Immunological measurements （ELISA） indicated that herbivores feeding on Bt cotton contained 5%-50% of the Bt protein concentrations in leaves except whiteflies and aphids, which contained no or only traces of Bt protein, and spider mites, which contained 7 times more Cry 1Ac than leaves. Similarly, predators contained 1%-30% of the Cry protein concentration in prey. For the nontarget risk assessment, this indicates that Bt protein concentrations decrease considerably from one trophic level to the next in the food web, except for spider mites that contain Bt protein concentrations higher than those measured in the leaves. Exposure of phloem sucking hemipterans is negligible.

Venting is the common safety measure to protect plant equipment against excessive overpressure. So far, scenarios in which particles were part of the system and should have been accounted for did ignore their presence; the scenarios were treated like a two-phase system. Current research shows that particles can have a major influence on the venting behaviour. Experimental results indicate that particles affect level swell and relief flow especially of foamy systems. Based on those results four different layers of influence of the particle have been identified and are presented in a first model. Based on this model recommendations for the development of new and more complex models are given.

The contribution of leakage in a baghouse filter （defined as a short circuit between the upstream and downstream sides of the filter） to the emission of fine particles is quantified in comparison to other dust emission sources, and the influence of key operating variables on overall system response is analyzed. The study was conducted on a well-maintained pilot-scale filter unit （9 bags of 500 g/m^2 calendered polyester needle felt; total surface area 4.2 m^2） operated in Ap-controlled mode over a range of pulsing intensities, with two types of test dust （one free-flowing and the other cohesive） at inlet concentrations of 10 and 30 g/m^3. Leaks included single holes between 0.5 and 4 mm diameter, intentionally placed in either the plenum plate or one of the filter bags, as well as seamlines from bag confectioning. Emissions were sep- arated by source into a transient contribution due to dust penetration through the filter bags after each cleaning pulse, and a continuous contribution from leaks. This separation was based on a novel method of data processing that relies on time-resolved concentration measurements with a specially calibrated optical particle counter. Tiny leaks on the order of 1 mm generated the same emission level as all the bags combined, and dominated continuous emissions. The equivalent leak cross section （leakage = media emission） was about 1 ppm of the total installed filter surface, independent of upstream dust concentra- tion. Leakage through open seamlines amounted to 75% of media emissions in case of free-flowing test dust. Leakage was restricted to aerodynamic diameters less than ~5 μm （roughly the PM2.s mass frac- tion）. For comparison, time-averaged mass penetration through conventional needle-felt media ranged from about 10^-5 to 10^-6, depending on cohesiveness of the particle material and pulse cleaning intensity, giving emission levels between about 0.02 and 0.2 mg/m^3 at the reference concentration of 10 R/m^2.
