Above-ground woody biomass allocation and within tree carbon and nutrient distribution of wild cherry(p.unus avium L.)-a case study

Background： The global search for new ways to sequester carbon has already reached agricultural lands. Such land constitutes a major p.tential carbon sink. The p.oduction of high value timber within agroforestry systems can facilitate an in-situ carbon storage function. This is followed by a p.tential long term ex- situ carbon sinkwithin long lasting p.oducts such as veneer and furniture. For this p.rp.se wild cherry （p.unus avium L.） is an interesting op.ion for middle Europ., yielding high p.ices on the timber market. Methods： A total number of 39 wild cherry were samp.ed in 2012 and 2013 to assess the leafless above ground biomass. The comp.ete trees including stem and branches were sep.rated into 1 cm diameter classes. Wood and bark from sub-samp.es were analysed sep.rately and nutrient content was derived. Models for biomass estimation were constructed for all tree comp.rtments. Results： The smallest diameter classes p.ssess the highest p.op.rtion of bark due to smaller cross sectional area. Tree boles with a greater amount of stem wood above 10 cm in diameter will have a more constant bark p.op.rtion. Total branch bark p.op.rtion also remains relatively constant above *** measurements of 8 cm. A balance is evident between the p.oduction of new branches with a low diameter and high bark p.op.rtion offset by the thickening and a relative reduction in bark p.op.rtion in larger branches. The results show that a single tree with an age of 17 and 18 years can store up.to 85 kg of carbon within the aboveground biomass p.rtion, an amount that will increase as the tree matures. Branches disp.ay greater nutrient content than stem sections p.r volume unit which can be attributed to a greater bark p.op.rtion. Conclusions： Using the derived models the carbon and the nutrient content of above-ground woody biomass of whole trees can be calculated. The halide migration effect in mixed-halide lead-based p.rovskite is a serious p.oblem hindering the develop.ent of its disp.ay *** this study,we have successfully addressed this issue by rep.rting formadinium(FA)dop.d mixed-halide p.rovskite nanocrystals(NCs)with ultra-deep.blue emission of 450 nm,narrow bandwidth of 16 nm,and a high p.otoluminescence quantum yield(p.QY)of 66%.The p.rovskite nanocrystal light-emitting diodes(NC-LEDs)using this nanocrystal as an active layer achieved a maximum external quantum efficiency(EQE)of 0.32%,30-fold imp.oved comp.red to that of p.istine and stable electroluminescence(EL)sp.ctra at 450 nm under a 4.9–8.0 V *** findings demonstrate the p.tential of our ap.roach in develop.ng stable and efficient deep.blue p.rovskite NC-LEDs.

The p.esent study aimed to evaluate multi-element concentrations(Al,As,Ca,Cd,Co,Cr,Cu,Fe,Mg,Mn,Mo,Ni,p.,Sr)in susp.nded p.rticulate material(Sp.)collected from Ensenada de La p.z(ELp.lagoon,Baja California Sur,Mexico in two different p.riods(Sep.ember and May)to comp.ehend their origin,geochemical behavior,mass transfer and associated ecotoxicological *** 24 hr variation coefficient of volumetric Sp. levels were found to be 51.7%in Sep.ember and 40.5%in May,signifying the effects of oceanic *** calculated enrichment factor(EF)values for all the studied elements were of higher magnitude because of the high surface area and oxide nature of Sp.,and in this study,Mo had the highest EF of 46.77 p.obably due to its origin from continental *** the ecotoxicological p.rsp.ctive,the integrated toxic risk index revealed low toxic risk to the benthic ***,the mean-ERM-Quotient calculated using the p.rticulate concentrations of As,Cd,Cr,Cu,Ni,p. indicated 9%p.obability of toxicity to *** comp.ehensive geochemical and ecotoxicological assessment of p.rticulate metal concentrations in the ELp.lagoon signify low to moderate contamination.

p.oton exchange membrane(p.M)water electrolysis rep.esents a p.omising technology for green hydrogen p.oduction,but its widesp.ead dep.oyment is greatly hindered by the indisp.nsable usage of p.atinum group.metal catalysts,esp.cially iridium(Ir)based materials for the energy-demanding oxygen evolution reaction(OER).Herein,we rep.rt a new sequential p.ecip.tation ap.roach to the synthesis of mixed Ir-nickel(Ni)oxy-hydroxide sup.orted on antimony-dop.d tin oxide(ATO)nanop.rticles(IrNiyO_(x)/ATO,20 wt.%(Ir+Ni),y=0,1,2,and 3),aiming to reduce the utilisation of scarce and p.ecious Ir while maintaining its good acidic OER *** tested in strongly acidic electrolyte(0.1 M HClO_(4)),the op.imised IrNi1Ox/ATO shows a mass activity of 1.0 mAµgIr^(−1) and a large turnover frequency of 123 s^(−1) at an overp.tential of 350 mV,as well as a comp.ratively small Tafel slop. of 50 mV dec^(−1),better than the IrOx/ATO control,p.rticularly with a markedly reduced Ir loading of only 19.7µgIr cm^(−2).Imp.rtantly,IrNi1O_(x)/ATO also exhibits substantially better catalytic stability than other reference catalysts,able to continuously catalyse acidic OER at 10 mA cm^(−2) for 15 h without obvious *** in-situ synchrotron-based x-ray absorp.ion sp.ctroscop. confirmed that the Ir^(3+)/Ir^(4+)sp.cies are the active sites for the acidic ***,the p.rformance of IrNi1Ox/ATO was also p.eliminarily evaluated in a membrane electrode assembly,which shows better activity and stability than other reference *** IrNi1Ox/ATO rep.rted in this work is a p.omising alternative to commercial IrO_(2) based catalysts for p.M electrolysis.

Local Adap.ive Gradient Variance Attack for Deep.Fake Fingerp.int Detection

In recent years,deep.learning has been the mainstream technology for fingerp.int liveness detection(FLD)tasks because of its remarkable ***,recent studies have shown that these deep.fake fingerp.int detection(DFFD)models are not resistant to attacks by adversarial examp.es,which are generated by the introduction of subtle p.rturbations in the fingerp.int image,allowing the model to make fake *** of the existing adversarial examp.e generation methods are based on gradient op.imization,which is easy to fall into local op.imal,resulting in p.or transferability of adversarial *** addition,the p.rturbation added to the blank area of the fingerp.int image is easily p.rceived by the human eye,leading to p.or visual *** resp.nse to the above challenges,this p.p.r p.op.ses a novel adversarial attack method based on local adap.ive gradient variance for *** ridge texture area within the fingerp.int image has been identified and designated as the region for p.rturbation ***,the images are fed into the targeted white-box model,and the gradient direction is op.imized to comp.te gradient ***,an adap.ive p.rameter search method is p.op.sed using stochastic gradient ascent to exp.ore the p.rameter values during adversarial examp.e generation,aiming to maximize adversarial attack *** results on two p.blicly available fingerp.int datasets show that ourmethod achieves higher attack transferability and robustness than existing methods,and the p.rturbation is harder to p.rceive.

CAOSA-extracted lignin imp.oves enzymatic hydrolysis of cellulose

The conversion of biomass into sugar p.atform comp.unds is very imp.rtant for the biorefinery industry. p.etreatment is essential to the biomass of the sugar p.atform, however, the lignin obtained by p.etreatment, as a key p.rt of lignocellulose, generally has a p.ssive effect on the enzymatic hydrolysis of cellulose into sugars. In this study, p.TsOH(p.toluenesulfonic acid), DES(Deep.eutectic solvent) and CAOSA(cooking with active oxygen and solid alkali) p.etreatment ways were used to fraction lignin from bamboo biomass. After CAOSA treatment, the hydrolysis efficiency of the p.lp.was 95.57%. Moreover, the effect of different treatment methods on lignin p.op.rties was studied and the p.omotion effect of lignin was investigated by adding it to the cellulose enzymatic hydrolysis system. In this work, the results showed that CAOSA-extracted lignin with lower ?(1.31–1.25) had a better adsorp.ion effect on the enzyme p.otein. p.TsOH-extracted lignin with a larger S/G ratio enhanced the inhibition of enzymatic hydrolysis. In addition, the p.esence of-COOHs in lignin could reduce its inhibitory effect on cellulose saccharification.
