Quantum computing generates much interest for its potential ability to outperform classical computing at many tasks. Photons have been considered as a promising candidate for implementing quantum computation owing to their properties of long coherence time, ease of manipulation and light-speed transmission. The integrated quantum photonic platform is an engineering solution proposed for robust and exquisite control of photonic quantum information by allowing generation, manipulation and detection of photons on a single chip. Here we use integrated silicon photonics and the linear combination of quantum operators scheme to realise a fully programmable two-qubit quantum processor, which enables universal two-qubit quantum information processing in optics for the first time. The device is fabricated with readily available cMOS based processing and comprises more than 200 photonic components, including 4 nonlinear photon-sources, 4 filters, 82 beam splitters and 58 individually addressable phase shifters. It allows to generate entangled photons and to initialise, operate and analyze arbitrary two-qubit states and processes on chip. To demonstrate performance, we programmed the device to implement 98 different two-qubit unitary operations（with average quantum process fidelity of 93.2±4.5%）, a two-qubit quantum approximate optimization algorithm and efficient simulation of Szegedy directed quantum walks. All results presented require about 100,000 experiment configurations. The chip performs with high fidelity, it is inherently stable and repeatable under continuous operation and it can be reprogrammed at k Hz rate, showing an ideal platform for quantum information processing applications. This fosters further use of the linear combination architecture with silicon photonics for future photonic quantum processors.

Hepatocellular carcinoma(Hcc) is one of the most common malignancies leading to high mortality rates in the general population; in cirrhotic patients, it is the primary cause of death. The diagnosis is usually delayed in spite of at-risk population screening recommendations, i.e., patients infected with hepatitis B or c virus. Hepatocarcinogenesis hinges on a great number of genetic and molecular abnormalities that lead to tumor angiogenesis and foster their dissemination potential. The diagnosis is mainly based on imaging studies such as computed tomography and magnetic resonance, in which lesions present a characteristic classical pattern of early arterial enhancement followed by contrast medium "washout" in late venous phase. On occasion, when imaging studies are not conclusive, biopsy of the lesion must be performed to establish the diagnosis. The Barcelona clinic Liver cancer staging method is the most frequently used worldwide and recommended by the international guidelines of Hcc management. currently available treatments include tumor resection, liver transplant, sorafenib and locoregional therapies(alcoholization, radiofrequency ablation, chemoembolization). The prognosis of hepatocarcinoma is determined according to the lesion's stage and in cirrhotic patients, on residual liver function. curative treatments, such as liver transplant, are sought in patients diagnosed in early stages; patients in more advanced stages, were not greatly benefitted by chemotherapy in terms of survival until the advent of target molecules such as sorafenib.

Deep ultraviolet(DUV) optical wireless communications have seen increased interest in recent years due to the unique properties of light in this spectral region. However, the reported DUV data rates remain significantly lower than comparable demonstrations at visible wavelengths due to lower modulation bandwidths and/or output power of the sources. Here, we present a wavelength division multiplexing demonstration using three UV microlight-emitting diodes emitting at nominal peak wavelengths of 285, 317, and 375 nm, respectively, each with an emitting area of approximately 1369 μm^(2)(equivalent to circular device pixels of diameter;0 μm). Using orthogonal frequency division multiplexing, data rates of 4.17, 3.02, and 3.13 Gbps were achieved from the 285, 317, and 375 nm devices, respectively, for a combined data rate of 10.32 Gbps transmitted over a distance of 0.5 m.

Elimination of Hepatitis c in Liver Transplant Recipients

Patterns of Acute Kidney Injury in a Medical Emergency Department in Sub-Saharan Africa

Background: Acute kidney injury (AKI) is a common in community and a serious outcome in hospital setting. Despite the progress of dialytic and non-dialytic therapeutic means, its mortality remains high. Our objective was to contribute to a better knowledge of how AKI managed in an emergency medical ward in an African country located in the southern part of the Sahara. Patients and Methods: We conducted a retrospective study from January 1 to December 31, 2019, conducted at the emergency department of the University Teaching Hospital of Bouake, on cases of AKI. Results: During the study period, we collected 221 cases of AKI out of a total of 1778 files giving a prevalence of 12.4%. The mean age was 54 ± 19 years. A male predominance with a sex ratio of 1.4 was observed. The main past histories were hypertension in 40.4%, cardiac disease in 16.9%, and diabetes in 14.3%. The patients in were classified in 63.8% of cases as stage I, in 22.1% as stage II and in 14.1% as stage III according to the AKIN criteria. AKI was functional in 93.2% of cases. Hemodialysis was indicated in 15 (6.8%) patients, but only 3 (1.4%) underwent it. The mortality rate was 45.2%. Factors associated with mortality were: creatinine level greater than or equal to 30 mg/l, sepsis and impaired vigilance. conclusion: Acute renal failure was frequent in subjects under 60 years old. Its mechanism of occurrence is functional and therefore it can be prevented by vascular filling. The majority of patients were seen at AKIN Stage I. The outcome was favorable in more than one third of the cases and the mortality rate remains high.

Effect of Radiant Energy Vacuum on Physical and Microbial Properties of Beef Jerky

To test the feasibility of radiant energy vacuum （REV） dehydration, a technology that couples microwave cooking with vacuum pressure, on beef jerky preparation, the physical and microbial properties of the final jerky product was compared to conventional preparation methods. Physical characteristics assessed using puncture and shear tests of samples prepared using REV dehydration compared to the traditional method were not statistically different （P 〈 0.05）. Moisture content and water activity levels were also very similar between the two products, To test microbiological quality, samples were homogenized in a stomacher and a variety of 3 M Petrifilms were used to evaluate the microbial load. Raw beef harboured low numbers of microbes, but the post-marination pasteurization/smoking step used in both treatments eliminated all culturable microorganisms tested for. To further investigate the ability of REV dehydration to kill microbes, samples were spiked with Listeria innocua after the pasteurization/smoking step but prior to REV dehydration. Samples were taken at different time intervals for microbial enumeration, and a decimal reduction time of 1 min was calculated, with 99.99% of 1.98 × 10^7 cFU g^-1 Listeria being killed in five min. Improved drying times were observed for jerky samples prepared using the REV method offering potential energy savings during jerky preparation.

Involvement of ethylene receptors in the salt tolerance response of cucurbita pepo

Abiotic stresses have a negative effect on crop production,affecting both vegetative and reproductive *** plays a relevant role in plant response to environmental stresses,but the specific contribution of ethylene biosynthesis and signalling components in the salt stress response differs between Arabidopsis and rice,the two most studied model *** this paper,we study the effect of three gain-of-function mutations affecting the ethylene receptors cpETR1B,cpETR1A,and cpETR2B of cucurbita pepo on salt stress response during germination,seedling establishment,and subsequent vegetative growth of *** mutations all reduced ethylene sensitivity,but enhanced salt tolerance,during both germination and vegetative growth,demonstrating that the three ethylene receptors play a positive role in salt *** salt stress,etr1b,etr1a,and etr2b germinate earlier than WT,and the root and shoot growth rates of both seedlings and plants were less affected in mutant than in *** enhanced salt tolerance response of the etr2b plants was associated with a reduced accumulation of Na^(+)in shoots and leaves,as well as with a higher accumulation of compatible solutes,including proline and total carbohydrates,and antioxidant compounds,such as *** membrane monovalent cation transporters,including Na^(+)/H^(+)and K^(+)/H^(+)exchangers(NHXs),K^(+)efflux antiporters(KEAs),high-affinity K^(+)transporters(HKTs),and K^(+)uptake transporters(KUPs)were also highly upregulated by salt in etr2b in comparison with *** aggregate,these data indicate that the enhanced salt tolerance of the mutant is led by the induction of genes that exclude Na+in photosynthetic organs,while maintaining K^(+)/Na^(+)homoeostasis and osmotic *** the salt response of etr mutants occurs via the ethylene signalling pathway,our data show that ethylene is a negative regulator of salt tolerance during germination and vegetative ***,the higher upregulation
